This was my first experience using this company. So far it has been very positive. Gilbert delivered the POD and parked it exactly where we wanted it . He move the machinery around very effectively. I'm hoping he is the driver for the pick up and our future delivery. Update- Pickup was right on time . Manuel was professional and polite. He knew his product well. Delivery was also executed professionally. Diego drove the POD on a narrow street and parked it perfectly. He too maneuvered the machinery with expertise. I'm just waiting for the pickup. I truly wish I could rate PODS with 5 stars but I can't. Without getting into the minutiae of the problems we had I think I'm being generous with 3 stars. The local office in Milpitas was very responsive to the problem. Took 5 minutes to fix. Local office did a 5 star job. The national customer service was atrocious. Spent 3 hours over 3 days trying to get our issue resolved. Each time I had to explain the issue to a new service rep. Asked to speak with a supervisor and was told that wasn't going to happen. Apparently the supervisor decides whether to take the call. Was spoken to by a supervisor after my demand to speak to someone with authority but that portion lasted all of 10 seconds. Also, there is no way to contact the local office. I've used PODS 3 times before. Service was very good. read more

I've gone thru the MYPODS.COM site looking for my Storage facility contact info. (Milpitas, CA.), Doesn't exist...So then I figure I'll call Cust. Svc. # Provided hoping to somehow be able to speak to a live representative at some point thru their VM System, but instead of ever receiving an option to speak with someone, the system repeats itself with the limited options provided (BTW... None of which were for "accessing storage unit @ facility" ??), It would instead disconnect with me! REDICULOUS, that every storage facilities location address & all other contact info. Drivers are awesome! Great idea. However, their customer service is Awful!! Some of the most incompetent I have come across. They say they will pick up and deliver to your new location - what they fail to tell you is that it will take four days to deliver. We are moving 2 hours away and not across country. The first person we spoke with said that they could do the pick up and delivery on the same day. Then someone else called back and said they couldn't do the same day delivery and that it would take four days to get to our new house. We told them we need it moved the same day as we our moving in to our new house. We had a scheduled pick up for May 30 which they now have cancelled and moved to June 3! We have to be out of our current home on May 30th. They couldn't seem to figure out that we needed this moved on May 30th. We have since had to make other arrangements with U-Haul to get the bare minimum we need to use while we wait for the POD to be delivered. I have escalated to their management to get this resolved so we will wait and see what can be done. Let's hope they are more competent the the customer service reps they have. read more

This is for the Milpitas Ca Pods and their response to a defective unit. Had to order on line (no local phone number). Ridiculous wait time. Told had to take 16' even tho needed 12. It arrived on time. Driver arrived Thursday Aug. 5, and was spectacular (Victor I believe). Contractor came and started putting materials in Friday am at 10:00 am. We closed door and tried to slide the lock into place: it jams and does not allow lock to be inserted. IMMEDIATELY went to phone and did the ridiculous wait dance. Found the trick to actually SPEAK to an agent. Agent had to do a manual request for service (who knows why) and had to get a manager's approval. Assured me it was all done and Milpitas would reach out (We are about 10 or 15 miles from Milpitas). That was yesterday around Noon. I heard nothing. I called again at 5:30/6:00 yesterday, and the agent said he definitely saw the request for service entered. It is now 11:17 on Saturday. NOTHING. NO RESPONSE. DO NOT DEAL WITH PODS. I did not have time to research as the necessity for the storage unit was thrust on us suddenly by the contractor. However the majority of the reviewers who call this company uncaring are not lying!!!!!! Next step will be a drive to Milpitas to see if there are actually PEOPLE or if it is just a mail box, and ultimately to dispute the charges thru my visa. Busy is one thing but if the whole USA believes you are a dirt outfit - you dirt PODS. read more

If you want your Pod delivered to the correct address then don't use these people. I have had a Pod parked in front of my house for three days now and no one on my block has tried to use it. I called the 800 number twice and was told that it would be moved that day but it wasn't. They could not even find the where the Pod was supposed to be delivered when I gave them the serial number on the side of the unit. So I was driving to work, and one PODS truck was completely blocking the street I live on. This sort of things sometimes happen when delivery trucks do their job, so I waited until the driver was finished. He turns out that this driver was actually doing paperwork at the wheel, for what happened to be a long time (several minutes), and did not pay attention to me. I finally honked, and the driver seemingly waved at me, in a sign that I understood meant "Sorry, just give me one minute". I therefore waited some more, and the driver continued his "paperwork" at the wheel. After some more time had elapsed, I came out of my car walking to him. He then started to yell at me, saying that I should turn around and use an alternate route. I was quite surprised at his attitude. I then asked him if he had a permit, and he said yes, offering to show it to me. I waited for that, but he then ignored me, and started to load the storage unit on the truck. This made a lot of noise, and he then pretended he could not hear me, upon my request to see his permit. He opted instead to make various signs with his fingers. I then turned around and found an alternate route. To conclude, I think people should be tolerant of truck drivers doing their job, but in turns, these drivers that inconvenience the public should show a good attitude, and be sympathetic to people trying to get to work on time. One would think for instance that if paperwork needs to be done, it should be done while the truck is not obstructing the road. I sure hope that you forward this to your corporate company. I can't understand why in the hell a container would be dropped off blocking a side walk. This is San francisco. There are a lot of city ordinances that we have to go by. Not to mention the safety issue this poses or the $1000 per day violation. Does your company not know the city ordinance? It's absurd that no one contacted me. We followed the clearance guidelines, but came home to this. To make matters worse, your customer service representative and supervisor offered no real solution even after I told the supervisor this is a citation waiting to happen. I asked if Pods would pay the citation per day and she said that they would we we cross that bridge. Well that bridge is here! Nightmare! Poor service! Unprofessional! Scam! I would not recommend PODS to anyone!!! They lie to pacify people to get them off the phone .. these people need to be shut down! When I ordered my PODS I thought it was the Hilton on storage.. I was so wrong!!! They took my container to Hayward after telling me it would be sent to Emeryville come to find out there is no facility in Emeryville . I called to view my PODS 3 times and the three times I travelled to Hayward CA to view my PODS they could not find it! Not only mine but another couple who have moved from out of state they could not find theirs as well!! so finally to end the nightmare I requested my PODS to be delivered to my new home they charged me approx 165.00 to deliver to my new home however, that was successful until I tried to get the PODS open... the door was jammed when we finally got it opened items were scratched and broken looked like the POD had been through a major earthquake!! a few days after I returned the container PODS billed me 265.00 for the monthly Rent! Hmmm No longer have a storage with you!! I called spoke to Lori who assured me she would refund me the Monthly fee!! Smh.. called back a few days later when I did not receive the refund and spoke to Iris Richardson who claimed to be a supervisor and she said Lori only noted my account and never issued the refund because she didn't have that authority - However Iris submitted a refund request and gave me a reference number! Then she transferred me to Gabriel's in claims department who refused to give his last name he stated he would issue a claim for my damaged property and it would take 5 to 7 days for them to call me back to get the claim initiated he also gave a reference number! I still have not received my refund~ I will keep you posted with the outcome! But I would NOT recommend PODS to anyone!! Horrible service !! read more

PLEASE BEWARE! PODS will quote you and "lock in your quote" with a credit card, mine was a $500 deposit. They make it sound easy by assuring you can have it delivered and picked up whenever you like! Mine was a long distance move so included transportation of my POD and delivery to my new address! Perfect right? Not so much, turns out every time I had called to schedule to have my empty container delivered and then called to have it picked up, they were creating whole new quotes each time with higher prices!! I kept calling and all customer service would do was create a "trouble ticket" for account review and someone would get back to me in 7-10 business days. Let's just say each ticket would pass the 10 business day mark and when I would call back to check the status they would create a whole new one. I ended up with 4 tickets. Aside from this problem I was charged $44 for an empty weight ticket and $44 for a full weight ticket (I am military and this is required for reimbursement of my move). Never received those, customer service has sent the warehouses 3 emails requesting the tickets and still no one has contacted me. On my call today they think they may have forgot and my container is now half empty (grrrr). *UPDATE* I had to end up going to a legal office and submitting formal correspondence to take the company to court for losing my weight tickets (overall effecting my military move reimbursement of over $3,000!). They ended up negotiating with my and I had to agree on a price. Still didn't get my money back as the military would have covered but I just wanted to get something back and get this all behind me. NEVER AGAIN will I use PODS. read more

Using PODS was one of the best choices I made to store my precious items while waiting for a new house to be built. I collect very breakable items and when I unpacked my POD recently, not a single item had been broken. And, that is unheard of - - - the items are very fragile and have many tiny features. What a great experience! If I could give ten stars I would. It was easy to schedule the pick up and delivery thru the office. The drivers were right on time and EXTREMELY polite. The conditions were very tough to place the pod and magnitudes more difficult to pick it up. But they where persistent in ensuring we received what we asked for. Sending a special shout out to the drivers Rick (drop off) and to Stacy (pick up). These guys are great! Then the delivery to the destination went flawlessly. At least the conditions were much better for them. (Sorry I missed their names.) I will absolutely use PODS again if I have a move to endure. They helped make everything as smooth as they possibly could. I 'HIGHLY' recommend them. PS to PODS management: It will help your drivers a lot if you put tires with some traction on the trucks. Pods in Milpitas is a terribly company that screws their customers over if they mess up. We had two pods scheduled to come into our residence this morning and the driver was not responsive to any direction given to him. He ended up bashing in the door of the container and completely ruining the pod. Before we could contact his manager, he did that and red flagged our home letting the PODS companies in the surrounding areas know that they are not to deliver to our home. Meanwhile, we are supposed to be out of here in less than a week to move across the country. When speaking with the customer care they were absolutely horrible. They did not help at all and were rude in the meantime. We finally after several hours got connected with the supervisors line that was supposedly "corporate" and she could not even do anything to help at all. I do NOT suggest using PODS at all if it's at all a long distance drive or you have any sort of tight spaces to get through as their drivers are clearly incompetent at their jobs. read more

They showed up late to the delivery point. It was supposed to be delivered on a Saturday. I get a call Thursday evening it will be late and delivered on Monday. I flew out Friday to meet the container. I had me and my family sleep on the floor till the day it was delivered. I lost the help to unload it because the weekend was over. They don't even call you with their resolution team. They email you. Sure they will call you to take your 3700.00 but when they screw you, wait three weeks for a email. Then they offer you a pathetic 200 bucks back. I couldn't finish the furnishings of my new home because I had to fly back. Never again with these thieves. So yourself a favor and find someone else. I rented a POD for 6 months and stored furniture in it during a remodel. When we went to unpack the POD, we found standing water in one corner of it. The company took 3 months to investigate our claim. The reason they decided not to cover our claim is that they had rented the POD out to someone after us--even though they knew it had leaked for us--and in the 6 weeks the customer had been using it, they had not yet reported an issue. YIKES! I'm sure the poor people who have it now don't even know that they have a leaky POD--but they will soon enough. Further, PODS wasn't willing to share the history of previous rentals and whether or not they had reported issues. This is a scary company. read more

I will keep this short and sweet......DO NOT use PODS!!!! Their website is always down and does not works correctly when it is "up". You have to call and verify making sure that scheduling goes through as you have requested. Then you get to stay on hold for 45 minutes to an hour to talk to a live person. Then, they did not drop off nor pick up the POD at the time or on the date I scheduled. Lastly, I had to cancel the workers scheduled that were scheduled - to coincide with the POD pick up- which cost me 200.00 dollars. I then contacted PODS to let them know that their mishap on scheduling had cost me $200. They Compensated me 50.00 dollars for my "trouble". I haven't got my things back from PODS, and I'm hoping that nothing is damaged like all these other reviews state . All bad people!!!! Don't do it!!! read more

We were moving from Los Gatos to Idaho. We needed to move our entire house (minus the furniture as it was sold with the house). I asked a few friends and they all recommended PODS over a moving company (especially since it was a fraction of the cost). I called PODS, asked all my questions, and set it up. Super simple process and they make many recommendations to help you. They also offer their network of packing assistance (which I chose not to use as they were ridiculously expensive and I was better to find local resources through Yelp). They delivered our POD on time and put it exactly where we wanted it. I had set up to have it dropped off and then picked up 24 hours later. No issues at all. Packing was straight forward and we tied down items as we wanted to ensure less movement/damage. POD pickup happened in the window provided....and then we waited a week for our stuff to make the move. The POD arrived in Idaho and looked exactly as we had packed it. No damage, minimal movement. Again, the POD arrived when scheduled and was picked up as scheduled. You can adjust your scheduled drop off/pick ups any time you need to. They are very flexible and consistently check to see if you need to make any updates to the timeline. I will definitely recommend PODs to friends making long distance moves, especially if they also need time in storage. Great service and overall fantastic experience! read more

I rented a pod container because we were selling our home and needed to empty out my house to make it look presentable. At the end of our rental I scheduled the pod to be picked up on the 30th when the guy asked me to confirm the address it was my same address and I explain to him that it needs to go to a new address he told me just let the guy know when they come pick it up. When the day came for them to pick up my POD to deliver it to the new address the guy said he was there to pick up the POD for return. I explained to him it needed to go to the new address he said there was nothing he could do. I called 800 number and they couldn't do anything for me either after arguing with the manager for an hour he kept insisting there was nothing he could do except store my pod in a facility and bring it over later that was impossible I had just put all my company items inside the Pod I run company from home and I need my items to be there so after no success and trying to get my POD to the new address I had to empty the POD rent a truck to put everything in and take it myself after I had a gotten to the new home I get a call saying my pod can be delivered to the new address now but the POD was already empty no one gave me prior notice stating it would be possible for them to bring it afterwards few days later I get a call from the manager stating he would like to compensate me for going through that and that corporate had miscommunicated that he could possibly bring my iPod to the new address no one called me no one left a message stating that could be possible after stressing out renting a new truck U-Haul emptying out the Pod, me and my four daughters rushing to get everything out to move to the new address... so when the manager called me instead he would like to refund me the entire bill and anything else he wanted to negotiate with me I told him I would talk to my husband first and call him back after trying to call him back numerous times last messages he hasn't called me back he gave me his phone number to call him back and everytime I call it goes straight to voicemail this is very frustrating that I had to go to that in the first place and now trying to reach him is impossible I would not recommend this place to anyone they say one thing and do another manager said to me he would refund me I haven't heard from him or gotten anything back from them this is unacceptable this is very unprofessional I will fight the charges this is not fair and this is not fair for anyone to have to go to this ever the manager seemed very sincere and now doesn't even return my calls I will warn my family and friends on Facebook on any other social media not to ever call or use this place because of the Terrible service they give I really thought the manager was going to help me. read more

DON'T use PODs -- believe me! Horrible experience. PODS will get you on the hook at drop-off. When it comes to pick-up -- WATCH OUT. Suddenly, and arbitrarily, the "conditions" at your house or property are deemed BAD and they will refuse to pick up your POD. Then they remind you to check your contract -- specifically the part that says if conditions are not good for a pick up, YOU are still on the hook for the monthly rental charge. PODS continues to change my pick-up dates/times without letting me know stating the conditions are not good. BAD BAD BAD -- Don't use PODS. I ordered a POD because we were having a lot of work done at our home and I wanted to store things out of dust and dirt. The POD is great. They delivered on time and picked up on time. I was told the amount of money and I felt it was fair. So much $/month plus a delivery and pick up charge. I had the POD for 2 mos, with a grace period of 4 days after for $10/day, or else they charge for another whole month. I understood that part. So when they picked it up today, I checked my acct and they charged me for another whole month. I was not happy and called to inquire....I was told that they bill for a whole month but as soon as it is logged back in they will start the refund process which could take up to 3-5 bus. days. I used my debit card from primary ckg. acct, so now my money is tied up until next week. I am so not happy with that. That's why I am only giving 2 stars. read more

LANDLORDS DO NOT LET YOU TENANTS USE PODS!!! If the was a -5 rating that's what this POS company would get. My former tenants used PODS and had to leave 2 containers on my property which are empty since October (now in January). PODS refuses to come take them away so I have had these 2 pos's in my driveway for 3 months now. I and my former tenants have wasted countless hours on the phone with this outfit and they refuse to come and take them away (It's raining out, your driveway's too slippery bla bla bla). They didn't have a problem dropping them off. Some of the most insulting TS people ever, one woman actually asked me to send them a copy of my deed to prove I own the home before we continued. Every time you customer service it is as if they've never heard of you and they'll waste the first 15 minutes "tracking you down" and seem to have no memory of the 10 times you've already called. You're more likely to win the lotto than find an actual local contact# I think they still use paper and filing cabinets. read more

PODS is a horrible company with unresponsive customer service. They are unable to respond to customer needs and misled me every step of the way including costs, pick up arrangements and delivery date. I moved across country with my family and they gave me an estimated date of arrival that was 9 days off. As I write this a POD is still sitting on the parking lot partially blocking a drive because their equipment is so massive it needs multiple parking spots to operate (they don't tell you that when they take your credit card information. And, if they don't have enough spots to operate, they will leave and charge you another fee to come back). Now, 5 days later, and they are telling me at least another 2 days. I even spoke with a supervisor, James McCall, and he PROMISED me he would personally see to it that the POD was picked up on a specific date. It did not happen. When I called back, he was not in and there was no record of any actions on his part. Blatant lies and misrepresentation. I can handle someone telling me it will take 9 days; I can't tolerate someone giving me false information or telling me what I want to hear and have nothing happen. OVER PROMISED and UNDER DELIVERED. Kevin Thompson, "Mr. Reliable" and Adam were great to work with at the Milpitas location. I dropped by thinking I could get easy access to my PODS, but could see that they stack them throughout their warehouse so there's no way to get immediate access. When I was looking for the office, Adam saw and actually ran over to help me out. He said I'd need to give 24 hour advance notice since they need to locate and move the PODS outside. What I like about PODS is that they are clean and all I need to do is bring a padlock. (They will use an orange tag with your name and the PODS number on it, so take a picture.) The doors roll up easily and we can get multiple access throughout the day between 8a and 4p. There's also a Goodwill about 4 miles away with places to grab food nearby (L&L Hawaiian Food and Paris Baguette) and next to the Great Mall. There's also a dumpster there for stuff you no longer need/want and for your empty boxes. Mr. Reliable has a great sense of humor, a huge personality, and took the time to give water to a wandering golden lab. I believe it's a corporate policy that you can't call the location directly which makes it a pain, but probably allows them to stay focused on management and distribution of the PODS. We chatted in their air conditioned office about Maui, kids, eating healthy and they provide water. Regarding the corporate side, I had considered shipping a PODS to Hawaii and they were able to help me calculate a schedule to coincide with sailing date from Long Beach. I've had good access with their online calendar and adjusting dates and times. I highly recommend this company. read more

Easy to us service. Online or roll free works well. Hard to change dates for pick up or drop off but understandable. Watch the pick up and drop off as our pod lift seemed to have a hydronic problem so the lift was significantly uneven, tilting the pod. I should have addressed up front because upon return our stored items were tossed around pretty bad with items. Would have been nice to have driver addressed. Watch out for these guys when your doing business. They will take your credit card in the beginning. But once you set up terms, they are not suppose to use your credit card. Every month for the last 4 months I have asked them to credit the card and send me an invoice. Every month I find a bill on my card. When you call the account manager, I get the standard we will take care of it. Then we get billed twice. We have to waste time now to see if we are being double billed. They also say they call you but never leave a message. NOT A GOOD PRACTICE. read more

I have not used their service. I was very enthusiastic about what they promised, but lots of things are different than they promise (see other reviews). And their website has a promising picture of a woman wearing headphones and saying, "Have a question? I can help right here" with a box to type in a question. But there is no human involved -- it's all a ruse to get you to look at their previously asked questions, and when none of them addressed my issue, it said, "No results for 'internal dimensions of 16' pod'. Try a different phrasing or ask an agent." This is not just misleading -- it is blatently DISHONEST. And if they are dishonest in their advertising, can you trust them with their quote? I am writing this review while still considering them, because what they advertise exactly fits my needs, and their quoted price is very good. But I notice a bifurcation of review scores: while 32% give five stars, 49% give only one star with very few in between. Highly suspicious. Clearly they make a lot of people very angry. read more

Do not use Pods. I wish I had read these reviews first. Need a Pod delivered on a certain day? Too bad, they are not available. Want same day delivery and pickup? Too bad, they can't do that. Want service on a Sunday? Too bad, they are closed. Worst of all when I needed my Pod delivered to my new home they wouldn't deliver it because they were booked, even though I called 4 days in advance. First of all we were lied to, a damaged POD was delivered, they charged us through the nose for a damaged POD with no restitution, Lied to us that they could accommodate a same day delivery and pickup, after the fact we advised them that we were moving to a restricted community, held our furniture hostage inside their facility because they could not leave the POD parked inside the restricted community park for the whole weekend, until we agreed to take our chances to get kicked out of the community by conforming to their terms, otherwise we would not see, and they would confiscate our furniture and personal belongings. DO NOT USE PODS! Unfortunately, my experience was like the multitude of other 1 star reviews on here. Every time you call their customer service, you speak with someone different. And that person has NO record or evidence of the previous call. That person assures you that he/she is doing the correct thing this time around. They falsely charge you for their mistakes, then can't resolve the problem. Use a different service, whatever you do. If you're curious about the details ... They promised a same day drop-off and pick-up (where they drop off the unit in the morning and pick it up later the same day). This turned out to be too complicated. I was on the phone across 6 calls, 3 hours, on moving day trying to figure out where my POD was and when it was arriving. After it came, I spent more time on the phone regarding the pickup. I was then billed a set of spurious charges after the fact. It took another half dozen calls to "resolve". Finally, after great lengths, PODS admitted the error and refunded me.
