Oyster garlic tuna & spicy miso salmon & free Krab salad.$16.99, having half of it for dinner later.
    Janet S.

Arrived about 11:30am so it was pretty quiet. Pick your proteins (2 for a small) with free Krab salad. They don't limit you on the number of toppings (I don't like a bunch anyway) so it was nice to pick freely. Up charge for avocado or seaweed salad. Really enjoying my poke. They just need to soak the rice for about 30 minutes before cooking it, makes a big difference in the texture.

First impression: Very clean atmosphere, nicely decorated, light and bright with friendly helpful staff. Food quality was good. We tried a build your own bowl with Aji, cucumber, edamame, green onion, avocado, artificial crab salad (included), and chili sauce, on rice. That, with two drinks was $26. Price seems a little bit high, and topping options are not as plentiful as other competitor poke restaurants in town. They have hand rolls, which I would like to try next time. Would definitely try this place again.

I really wanted to love this place because the decor is so cute and the staff are incredibly nice, but the food fell short. Parking was a total nightmare, and the portions felt pretty small for the price. The biggest issues were the undercooked, crunchy rice and several flies buzzing around the tables while I tried to eat. It's a cool-looking spot in a great area, but for a pricey poke bowl, the quality just wasn't there. (Update: tummy ache after 30 minutes)

I was super excited to see a new poke spot opening up near me so when I got the soft opening advertisement on my Instagram I was on my way immediately! The space inside was nice and clean. A decent amount of tables if you planned to eat in. Staff were nice. Typically, I'd build my own bowl and load it with salmon but this time I decided on one of their signature bowls. I got the Tuna Lover Bowl and added avocado. It was a pretty pricey bowl running me about $22-23, but I wasn't surprised due to their location. The bowl itself was very tasty. The tuna was marinated well and tasted fresh. They have less toppings here than some of their other competitors, but I feel like solid poke doesn't need any additional toppings. This is definitely the case here. I could eat the garlic oyster tuna alone and be completely satisfied. Overall, I'd be back!

A group of us came here for the grand opening and while the line was long, it was expected. It was 50% off your order so we got the large size build your own bowls. The free scoop of crab salad is nice and adds more meat to the bowl. Everything was fresh and the hand rolls were pretty good. It's far from our house but we'd consider coming back if we're in the area!

So excited to be one of the first to review this place! :) We stopped by during their soft opening and had a great time. The build-your-own poke bowls were very customizable, with options like octopus & tofu that aren't always offered at other places. Everything tasted super fresh! You can also mix unlimited toppings & sauces for unique flavors. The space is clean and inviting, and the service was so kind and welcoming. I think my one critique is the amount of food you get for the price; you definitely get a smaller proportion of food here than some other poke places in town. Overall, can't wait to see this place grow over time!

My poke bowl loaded with tuna, salmon, seaweed salad, and crab salad

Came for the grand opening. I quite enjoyed the poke but even more so to enjoy the 50 percent off of the regular pricing. What they have here is nothing different than the competition. I am a fan of poke but to be honest I don't see myself coming back here to pay full price. I know here they are going to charge more because of the location. The quality of the poke is the same as the other competitors. I ordered the large bowl. It comes with 4 choices of protein. The crab salad is automatically free and I got 3 scoops of it. I chose to get the garlic tuna, 2 scoops of the spicy tuna, and the salmon. All the ingredients tasted fresh. I got half rice half spring mix salad. I added the shoyu, masago, jalapeno, crispy onion, and seaweed salad. The seaweed salad and avocado are extra charges. I believe the scoops of the proteins could've have been bigger. I am happy to have come try this place. It did not wow me. It is going to do well because of the location. It's casual dining. Nothing wrong with Poke House. For me it's not a unique or must come back for me.

    So yummy

Great food & great customer service super clean lobby area. Definitely going back to check out the rest of the menu

I've tried other Poke House locations in the Bay Area, so I was excited when one opened in Clovis. With that anticipation, I had to check it out on just the second day after their soft opening. Parking can be tricky since the area is packed with restaurants and has limited spots, but once inside, the place is clean, spacious, and has a few tables available. The protein options are mostly tuna and salmon, and I really appreciated the new hand roll options on the menu. Unfortunately, the poke bowl rice was undercooked--the white rice was crunchy and really shouldn't be served, though the brown rice was at least a bit more cooked. The sauces are plentiful, but the portions weren't enough; my large bowl ended up bland because the ratio of sauce to rice and protein was off. Thankfully, since I got my order to go, I was able to add some soy sauce at home to salvage it. Having enjoyed their Bay Area locations, I really want to love this Clovis spot, but every bite had at least one "I wish this was better" moment. Maybe I'll give it another try after some time. I'm thankful that the imitation crab scoop is free here and not considered a protein option--unlike other poke spots in Fresno where it comes with an extra charge.

Crispy and tender and even better with the katsu sauce. Now that I'm back from a very long hiatus, I wanted to try something different. I went with the Hawaiian plate. Did that cus it came with Kalua pork and the lau lau which I curious about. I already knew the kalua pork was gonna be good cus I have tried that before but the lau lau was different. It's pork, fish and pork fat wrapped in taro leaves and I think it's steamed. The plate came with two scoops of rice and one scoop of Mac salad. The price is really good $16.99 for all that. Mac salad was nice and creamy. The kalua pork was good but had some big parts that was shredded. And the lau lau was okay.. I think it would've been better if the pork in there wasn't so dry!! The pork fat helped and I honestly couldn't really taste any fish. The taro leaves I had to get used to.. at first bite it reminded me of tea leaves. Could be an acquiring taste to some.. I used the teriyaki sauce and some hot sauce I had at home to finish the whole plate. I got spam musubi for my son and was very disappointed in that. It came in a tiny white paper bag and the rice was sticking to it. The spam was also dry af!!! My bf got the bulgogi fries.. the taste was good but they skimped on the bulgogi and the ones they did put in there, it was mainly fatty parts and my bf hates that shit. They definitely sauced it tf up.. maybe to mask the fact they didn't put enough meat in there. Mainly fries. As for service.. I would say it wasn't the best. The dude that rang me up didn't smile, looked like he was ready to go and looked annoyed that I even came in to order.. nobody was even in there dining. Just mainly to go and pick up orders.. it was pretty quiet besides hearing the chef cook. I got my food and I kept it moving. They have so much on their menu. Not sure if I'll be back. They have good prices tho I will say but a lot of the other Hawaiian spots in Fresno is lowkey better.

They excel at producing tender, juicy proteins paired with excellent in-house sauces, and their menu offers an impressive variety of options, including chicken, beef, pork, salmon, shrimp, fish, and tofu. I have tried their three most popular choices: chicken katsu, grilled chicken, and beef tri-tip. The chicken katsu features a light, airy, and perfectly crisp panko crust that gives way to incredibly tender, juicy, and flavorful meat. The grilled chicken is equally impressive, cooked to succulent perfection and coated in a teriyaki sauce that strikes a near-ideal balance of savory umami, gentle sweetness, tanginess, and the aromatic warmth of garlic and ginger. In addition to traditional gyudon-style thinly sliced beef, Kenji's stands out by offering premium cuts such as beef tri-tip and steak. This may be the only teriyaki house in Fresno I have visited that uses heavily marbled, higher-quality beef. The tri-tip bowl delivers a harmonious balance of bold, rich flavors. The meat is smoky, juicy, and remarkably tender, while the teriyaki sauce enhances it with layered sweet and savory notes rather than overpowering it. A major reason Kenji's shines is that all sauces are made fresh in-house daily. The difference is unmistakable. The flavor, texture, and overall quality far surpass those of mass-produced sauces filled with artificial additives. Their teriyaki sauce is vibrant and aromatic, with garlic and ginger at the forefront. It is not overly sweet or thick, has a subtle hint of spice, and coats the meats beautifully without masking their natural flavors. The teriyaki rice bowls themselves are as good as it gets. The proteins are generously portioned and clearly the centerpiece, while the vegetables are fresh, crunchy, and vibrantly colored. The rice is fluffy and comforting, providing the perfect base to balance the richness of the meats and sauce. Each bowl is hearty, well-proportioned, visually appealing, and deeply satisfying. To top it off, the counter service is consistently friendly, efficient, and knowledgeable when it comes to recommendations. Orders come out impressively fast, making Kenji's Teriyaki Grill an easy go-to for a high-quality, reliably comforting meal.

Another way to order is inside where you find a table by the bar area and be served by a waiter/waitress. Seating can be a bit of a wait since it's always busy so you kinda have to stand around and wait for tables to clear out or you might even get lucky and find one right away. We were in town the morning after seeing the Firefail. Finally success on the third visit attempt. Amongst other shops on the desolate street stood an unremarkable window front where the repeat button has remained on since the 60s. Within was an eclectic mix of Japanese American household fixtures and Americana. Rustic. Nothing like Benkyodo's proper shelf presentation - or a hamburga stand. Some Japanese goods were on offer, but you come here for something sweet. We got a couple of mochi and manju, traditional red bean flavors, because that's all that was left. Their manju, seeming to have a different "batter" and "panini"-grilled, had a crumbly texture. The mochi though... Have you seen that viral video of that slapping mochi shop in Nara? What about people enjoying it? How soft it was, leaving a vegan cheese pull with every bite? This was by far the softest mochi I've ever had, and I thoroughly enjoyed the soy dusted yomogi. The bigger size of the mochi also accentuated the softness of the mochi. The matcha, also green, had a distincting different flavor, just so you know that the shop wasn't cheating. My partner in crime loved the lima bean mochi. The red bean filling tasted homemade, good flavor but not too sweet - the best compliment you can give an Asian in a world that remains overrun by pollo ala naranja. We are proud* that such a heritage perseveres on, especially in a part of town that's honestly become quite desecrated of life. Call ahead to see if the shop is open, and try to come early. The shop is a one woman show, and if my first two visits say anything, this lady enjoys having a life. And yes, she does sell out. She was nearly sold out when we visited. And try to enjoy the mochi ASAP. The mochi will last in the fridge. The texture will not. If you come at the right time of the year, the shop will have mochi in different fruit and pie flavors, and even ice cream mochi. *OK, "I'm proud of you" might be a bigger compliment to an Asian. And yes, there's Fugetsu in LA, but I haven't been. Though if you need a reason to visit the Fresno, you can always take the 99 traveling between SoCal and NorCal... Just need to be early if much is desired.
