Ever since I found out this place opened I've been going quite a bit. I love poke, and the fact that they have salmon poke makes this place ever better since you don't have to worry about eating too much tuna. The fact that they have 4 different type of meat selection was pretty sweet. Best way to describe this place is the chipotle of tuna. I've stopped here a few times on my way home from work over the past year because it's quick and parking was easy during the height of the pandemic. The first time was fine. Good food and good service. The second or third time I had one of the most unpleasant experiences with a food service employee in my life. I was the only customer and the woman wanted to rush me through my choices. Instead of waiting for me to tell her what I wanted, she continuously picked up a portion of something and asked me if I wanted it. I kept refusing and tried to tell her what I did want. She would put that in my bowl and then pick out something else and ask me if I wanted that. When I finished picking out what I wanted she said, "Ha, that's not poke, that's sushi!" I have to say that she was very lucky that I didn't leave my food there and walk out without paying. read more

My boyfriend and I checked this place out last week. We really wanted to go to Jus Poke, but it was closed, and Poke Bar was open late on Sunday night. That was our first mistake. Don't compare Jus Poke to Poke Bar. Jus Poke has bigger portions, better prices, and better fish. The service is friendlier and more family oriented and it feels like a more local joint. Poke Bar is a Chipotle-style, make your own poke bowl place. The prices are expensive - $9 for a small scoop of rice and 2 poke options (both small). The fish is fresh and good, however, and it's nice that you get to pick your own mix-ins like edamame, jalepeno, etc. However, the sides are terribly small. I literally got 2 tablespoons of seaweed salad as my 2 sides. Sad. The decor is industrial chic, and there's plenty of parking. This place is a nice addition to the neighborhood, and offers a new option for lunch or dinner. But unless Jus Poke is closed, I don't think it's worth the price and I won't come back soon. read more

I love (traditional Hawaiian) poke, but every now and then I will try some of these fancy poke bowls. What I liked the most about these poke bowls was that the poke cubes are the perfect size. They're not too small where they get drenched in the sauce, but also not too big either. You get a nice bite into each piece. The people who took my order were nice, but I was a bit disappointed when I had to repeat myself. There was a guy who first took my order and wrote it down on a bowl. He put some rice in it and then handed it to the woman who then asks me what do I want. I ordered a premade bowl with all the toppings that go with it, so it kind of threw me off a little. As I'm in the middle of eating, I feel like it's missing something. I'm almost done and I realized it was missing some kind of soy sauce flavor, so I added some and what a difference it made. Perhaps since they're still a new place, they need to train the staff how to thoroughly make each bowl a great one. read more

Came in and grabbed a 2 scoop poke bowl. Tell me why the scoops are SUPER tiny!! Not only was it tiny, but it had no flavor what so ever. Some pieces of fish was fishy and just had no taste at all. I did NOT enjoy my bowl and I got 2 of them and my partner said the same thing. The poke spot on Douglas is in a smaller bowl but very flavorful and worth the price. After making the drive to Redondo often to get my fix, I was excited to see that a few poke spots opened up in my neighborhood. It's a build your own bowl concept. The fish is fresh and lots of options (tuna, salmon, octopus, scallops, etc). I love that they offer more than tuna since I am more of a salmon gal. I've also found the portions to be great, not too much or not too little. Other poke spots, I get a medium, but I've been here a couple of times now and find the small to be perfectly sized for me. :) And I tend to get the same proteins, but love switching up the sauce combos or toppings depending on my mood. Each time I've been in the staff has been very friendly and helpful. Tonight, several of the Poke Bar owners were meeting at the table beside me. One asked for my honest opinion and were very sweet to clean the table after me. I'll definitely be frequenting Poke Bar. :) read more

I agree with Kelsey. Great in theory, not so great in execution. It takes way too long during lunch to get a poke bowl because of the customization. I've had poke from all over Hawaii, even at their local market Foodland and it tastes great and flavorful. Why? Because they marinate the poke for a long time. It gives so much more flavor and depth. I wish Poke Bar would do that. It would taste so much better. At least just marinate the tuna as I believe that is the most popular fish everyone chooses. Otherwise, I'll just dream about eating good poke again in Hawaii. read more

Fast friendly in and out in minutes. I came here while I was waiting for my food at Farmer boys who took forever to get a Turkey melt then 2 of the employees disappeared while the line kept building at the register. But this place was fast efficient and food is good. Will come by again when in the area. read more

I love the poke from this restaurant. I work on Maple and Douglas and there is two poke restaurants across form me but instead I drive a few blocks down to get the best poke here. The staff are very kind and attentive to my pickiness. Their portions are generous and all their fish taste fresh. I have never really been a fan of Imitation crab but the Poke Bar has definitely changed my mind on that. It's a great place to sit, relax, unwind, eat and listen to the top 40's music they play. I was impressed with the management as well you wont see many places where the manager is walking around the restaurant making sure everyone's enjoying their food. Eric the manager at the Poke Bar made sure the food was everything I wanted and expected, he even made great suggestions for next time to try. Because the quality of food is top notch and the customer service is excellent I will continue to make this my only Poke lunch location. P.S. the macaroons are sooooo good! read more

I found this spot on yelp, thought I give it a try. My first thought walking into the store was that all the workers were really friendly and welcoming. They walked me through the menu and explained to me how to order. I tried samples of all the different poke they had, and decided to go with the salmon and original tuna w/ seaweed salad and avacados. Conclusion: -The taste of the tuna and salmon mixed together is on point. -You get a little savory and sweet with the seaweed salad. -A bit of crunch with the peanuts and sweet garlic drizzled on top of the rice and poke. -They definitely use fresh and clean ingredients - felt full but not heavy at all. I ordered Poke in November 21, 2020. Unfortunately, the food was frozen, soggy, and tasted like dirty sea water. I called One Poke to discuss my complaint. It's extremely difficult to call this location because the phone number is connected to a fax machine. In addition to the quality of food and the communication, the customer service is not great. The manager (Jin) and several employees said that I would get a refund. I was never refunded. I am still waiting for a refund after over a month. read more

This place used to be really good in term of freshness of the fish. We like to come here as it's walking distance from work. However, the quality of fish here is going down hill. As soon as you walk into the place, there is this funky smell, bad seafood smell. Last time we came here was 2 weeks ago and the fish was so bad that both coworker and I threw away the food. Today, I wanted to give it another try, ordered salmon and scallop, salmon was just ok but scallop tasted really bad. Well, the weather has been pretty warm lately, so they really need to think about how to store and keep the seafood fresh. No one should be consuming raw seafood that has gone bad and smelly. I love Poke and have driven by this place many times and have always wanted to try it out. Today I finally had the chance and sadly was disappointed.. First off, as soon as you walk in, there's an absolutely overwhelming smell of fish. It reeked more than any fish market I've been to; but I decided to go ahead and try out the food since I was already there. Big mistake and I truly wish I hadn't. The fish unfortunately did not look or taste fresh. On top of that the portions were smaller and more expensive in comparison to other poke places that I have been to. The food is delicious, the service is shocking. I walk in, only one person in front of me. The two women working behind the counter just looking down at tablet, no acknowledgement whatsoever a customer has entered the store. No hi, no welcome, nothing. I wait to take my order for 5 minutes. Maybe not that long; but when there is only one person in front who has already ordered seems like an eternity. Order my food eventually and get to paying, tell them it's to go, lady hands me my food and walks off, when I remind her it was to go and ask for a bag she rolls her eyes and just hands me a bag. If an order is to go, shouldn't they put the food in the bag? Highly doubt I'll be back, great food doesn't make up for S**t service. read more
