    Medium Poke Bowl
    Madeline V.

My beloved Poke Me. Such an extensive variety of fresh and supple fish. Their salmon and Yellow Tail is sooo fresh that it tastes like ripe avocado. I really enjoy their spicy and seared albacore. Their toppings, bases and sauces are well seasoned. My go to order is their medium bowl, half sushi rice, half greens, seaweed salad, edamame, salmon, spicy albacore, yellow tail, cucumber, green onion, furikake, yuzu ponzu, spicy mayo and sesame shoyu. Absolutely delicious. I'm postpartum, so I have been on a poke rampage. Poke Me is elite. Side note: There was one time when I ordered food delivery and the cucumber in my bowl was sour- that was once (hence the 4 star review) but it was super disappointing... I love Poke Me and I will continue to order from here. As I said it's elite!

This place is really close to The Hammer museum by UCLA. I came here with a couple of friends on a Saturday at around 2:30pm and there were two people manning the store. Both the guy and the girl were incredibly friendly, professional, patient and helped us 3 get exactly what we wanted. I went with a large (4 scoops) poke bowl and my two friends each had a medium. The key element for every single poke shop is the freshness of the ingredients, and this place was no exception. Both the protein and the veggies were as fresh as they could be, chopped/minced/cut to perfection and with a great presentation. The actual store was clean, quiet, and a perfect place to eat a calm lunch. Then we had some of their mochi (there were only two flavors left) which were pretty good. 10/10. Highly recommended place.

Ordered delivery via Uber Eats. I think it's overall good. The price is standard for the city. The mix in and side options are different than other spots, at least if ordering online. For example, you get two sides which include options of imitation crab, avocado (extra $), edamame, seaweed salad, squid salad or tamago. You get up to 5 mix ins which include cucumber, red onion, cilantro, pineapple or corn. For many other places, the options of "sides" are included in the mix ins. But I guess their mix ins are literally items that are mixed into the fish. I think the fish tasted really fresh but the mix in portion (as you can probably see in the photo) was really watery. So it was kind of a lot when eating the meal. I do think the amount of fish given is good (not necessarily generous or abundant but better than other spots).

I would give it a 0 star if i could. i got food poisoning from the poke bowl. I been puking for hours from what i am guessing is bad scallops. Avoid here at all cost. I contacted management and they absolutely do not care about customer or whether they get sick. They claimed they did an internal review, when they didn't ask the date of my order, location or even what i ordered. clearly they don't health and safety seriously. also the lack of respect for customer. i had fever, puked for hours, and has body ache for a day with resting heart rate of 90 when i'm sleeping and they just chalked it up to "uncomfortable experience".

Best poke on the west LA side. 8 oz poke will still be my favorite over all poke in SoCal but if you want a yummy poke bite the west side, this is definitely it. Reasons why this spot is amazing: * extremely fresh poke (for the main fishes like salmon and tuna. The octopus can be a little old) * tamago & spicy imitation crab & seaweed salad (& pineapple) are available as toppings. * good variety of sauces (yuzu ponzu, yuzu wasabi, eel sauce, spicy mayo...etc) * the small bowl + two salmon handrolls was surprisingly enough to fill me. I normally get a large but I now realize that's excessive. In the small bowl they give a lot rice but oh well, I'm sure you can ask them to reduce this down and give more toppings salad if you're in the store. The salmon rolls surprised me. Delicious. They added a tiny squirt of I believe eel ponzu sauce and cucumbers which were delectable compliments to the fresh salmon. Would order again.

    Signature Bowl

Ordered two "signature bowls" through Uber Eats and it was lackluster. They covered both bowls with a ton of crispy onion to hide the 5 little bitty pieces of salmon that it came with. I ordered one with spicy mayo and it either came with or just tasted like regular mayo. The Flavor was bland and the only flavor I tasted came from seaweed salad. Small portion for the price as well. Will be ordering from somewhere else next time.

Ordered from this place on uber eats today and got the smallest poke bowl I've ever seen, not reflective at all of the picture they have on the menu. Would not order again.

    Food scale
    Mike H.

So to be fair this place deserves a 4. It's NOT a 5. But lately they have added a scale where they weigh your food. It was kind of awkward because the girl took off 2 piece of salmon then she put one back in. I understand with inflation and everything and food for them for not raising prices. But to weigh everything to the teeth and on top of all that they made everything smaller portion. Everything. Quality is still the same and prices are still the same. But be prepared to order more

Atmosphere - No wait on a Saturday afternoon, limited indoor seating Taste - We got the small build your own bowls with imitation crab, spicy tuna and octopus. The white rice was very mushy like paste. The crab tasted old and may have gone bad. The spicy tuna was mashed up with no texture Amber smashed in the bowl (see picture). Besides the bad tasting bowls, the presentation was terrible. It was just thrown in and unappetizing! Customer service - the guy making our bowls was rushing us although we were the only people in there. Price - Overpriced!!! 3 small bowls = $52!!!

This is my favorite poke place in Westwood!!! I have tried other poke places, but Poke Me provides a much better portion size. I also feel that they have a lot of toppings and options that all taste good. I typically order a medium bowl. It is decently sized and usually makes me feel full after. My go-to is half white rice, half salad, and whatever I feel like adding on top that day. My favorite protein options are salmon, albacore, and scallop. I like how they have a lot of options that they don't charge extra for. Also, many other poke places limit the amount of sauces or mix-ins you can put in, but Poke Me doesn't. I have eaten in the restaurant a few times, but the interior makes it feel more like a takeout place. I usually just order as takeout because the restaurant is little bit far from where I live. The servers are great at their job, and I can order and leave with my food in 5 min if the restaurant is not busy. I have also had my order delivered using a Coco robot before, which was pretty fun.

Medium Bowl with Salmon, Seaweed Salad, Imitation Crab, Cucumber, Furikake, and Sesame Seeds
    Lena N.

The food was just average at best. I ate all of my fish for protein/getting my money's worth and couldn't even finish the rest. Rice was older or just badly textured. They were not generous with the sauce at all, I had to add my own at home. The workers were okay though. I went when it was empty so they were attentive. Also, the place itself is very beautiful and has a nice seating area. It felt imperative of me to leave this review because I was super let down. My friend and I were craving poke all week and this did not satisfy the craving at all. The food was edible but nothing to come back for. Go to Sea Salt Poke instead.

rating: 8.5/10 price: more expensive side of poke: around $16 for a small which is 2 scoops of rice ambiance: free water and clean a eats inside service: kind servers servers gave big portions of rice. crabmeat and seaweed comes with no extra charge! give quite a large portion scoops for the bowl size. sauces lacked a little flavor. we had to ask for extra sauce. loses 2 points for lack of flavor in sauce and mixing in with the protein but +0.5 for the large scoops

The way the food was prepared and made you can tell it's done with a lot of care, attention and love so I imagine the service in the restaurant is just as high. Everything packaged in my delivery was so nice, from the utensils pack with the soup spoon and chopsticks to even the sauces, with the chili sauce leaving just enough room to pour in the pack of black vinegar so it doesn't spill over - that is the attention to detail that you don't get with other places. The way my soup came was separate- my noodles and beef were separated from the broth (which came nice at a warm temperature because of the insulated bag that is reusable!). I really enjoyed the flavors of the broth and the hand cut noodles, really comforting and just what I needed. We don't get a lot of that around here with chain restaurants and at these prices but Noodle St is really worth it. You'll be full without feeling heavy or hungry and very satisfied. Definitely looking forward to checking out more items and also in person as I think this is a more casual spot for dining.

They have a special combo on Mondays that makes it even better! (Combo = one of three entrees, one of three apps) + Open kitchen is fun! Seeing your food made is awesome. And they're definitely hand-pulling noodles! * Decent food. Not the best I've had but the knife cut noodles were pleasantly chewy. We ordered Korean beef rice, stir fried noodles with beef, fried tofu (one of the places that does it pretty well but it is small cubes -- still looking for a place that does bigger cubes or rectangles with lots of silken goodness inside!), beef roll, and oolong milk tea. + The oolong milk tea is legit. Super floral. And there are small bits floating in it. Unfortunately we figured out that we don't like oolong tea but giving this a plus bc not their fault we've never managed to have legit oolong tea! * Food delivery time was a little strange. My dining companion got her entree. And then it was 7-10 minutes before I got my entree. Apps all came out after that. Not rating a negative bc honestly, I don't care that much about stuff like what order the food comes out but boring it for anyone that does care. - Guy that helped us -- was fine but zero pleasantries. I shouldn't be surprised bc it's a Chinese restaurant. But it's a Chinese _chain_ restaurant with an edge of americanization so I thought it might be nicer. Add the fact that when I got to-go boxes from the other waitress that _she_ was sincerely nice and the bus-persons were both super nice and I'm thinking our dude was having a bad day. Not rating 4 (instead of 5) solely on service. Rating 4 bc food turned out to be just ok.

We came here for the start of our 10-year anniversary celebration. I was scouring Yelp for brunch spots that seemed adequate. Then I came across this gem. Their menu is extensive with robust and hearty meals. I do not like breakfast items, but when I saw the Korean fried chicken and Omurice, I was shocked and locked-in for this experience. The reservation was set for 8:15. Upon arriving, multiple members of the staff welcomed us was warmth as we walked to our table. I was told the gold standard of service contained multiple check-ins from the staff and constant refills whenever the drinks are half empty. They followed both of these points to the letter! I felt taken care of and all of the staff were always doing something. Also, the food came out insanely fast! I was not ready for all of it to arrive piping hot and all at the same time! The setting is very beautiful. The decor is nice and bright, the chairs are soft and comfy, and the colors go so well together. Moreover, even when busy, the seating areas are still breathable. Last but certainly not least, the food. I was blown away from the ratios between the price, flavor, and serving size of the food. We ordered a mimosa flight, Korean fried chicken, tornado galbi omurice, and the jam juicy Lucy burger. The meat on the burger was nicely seasoned, it had a generous service of fries, tomato's, and greens. The fried chicken had 5 good sized wings and were crispy. The Omurice was nice and rich. Honestly, I would've been fine if it did not come with short rib because the flavors were already so good with just the rice and egg! The portions were impressive. We both left filled to the brim! 5/5. I will be returning to this location to really put it to the test. I will bring the whole family a little later in the morning to see how well they perform during peak brunch times with a large group. I have high hopes. Until next time, Sweet Maple! There was no daikon that I could see or find, and maybe three sprigs of cilantro. If the carrots were pickled, they must have been pickled in the last ten minutes before I got them as there was no discernible flavor other than carrot. Although I went to eat the sandwich about fifteen minutes after I picked it up. It was very soggy. The meat was very much on the dry side, a bit greasy, but again, overall, pretty flavorless. I have been a loyal GoGoBop customer for many years and have visited this location countless times…read more I have always enjoyed the food and have consistently received friendly service from most of the staff. This is the first time I have ever felt the need to leave a negative review. Unfortunately, there is one tall male employee who has served me on several occasions. Based on my personal experience, every time he has been the one preparing my bowl, the portions have been significantly smaller than those served by other employees--not just the rice, but nearly every item. A bowl that is normally filled close to the top by other staff has consistently been only about one-third full when he prepares it. Each time he has served me, I have left feeling hungry. Today, while waiting in line, I honestly hoped that someone else would be serving me. Unfortunately, he was the employee at the counter. I ordered three portions of rice and one vegetable. From the very beginning of my order, he repeatedly acted as though he could not understand what I was saying, even though I was speaking clearly. The customers standing behind me could clearly understand my order and even tried to explain it to him, but he continued saying that he could not understand. As he prepared my bowl, he again gave me much smaller portions than the standard serving. The three portions of rice together were roughly equivalent to what I would normally expect from a single standard scoop. At that point, I knew I would not have enough food for my meal. Because he repeatedly said he could not understand me, I finally asked if another employee could please help me instead. When I pointed to the food to clarify what I meant, he responded by saying, "Don't raise your hand so high." I found this unnecessarily rude and dismissive. For a moment, I even wondered whether ordering three portions of rice was somehow inappropriate. I am currently following a meal plan designed by my nutritionist, and this is simply the amount of food I am supposed to eat. Afterward, I spoke with the Chef Manager and asked whether ordering three portions of rice was a problem. She clearly told me that it was not my fault at all and that my order was completely reasonable. Because I felt so uncomfortable, I got back in line and purchased another bowl just so I would not have to be served by the same employee again. This time, the Chef Manager assisted me. She immediately understood everything I said, treated me with professionalism and respect, apologized for my experience, and assured me that if I returned in the future, she would make sure I would not have to be served by that employee again. I truly appreciate the Chef Manager's professionalism. However, no customer should have to ask for a different employee simply to receive the correct portions and be treated with basic courtesy. This review is not about receiving extra food. It is about receiving the standard portions that every paying customer should expect and being treated with respect. After many years of supporting GoGoBop, I left feeling embarrassed, disrespected, and deeply disappointed. I sincerely hope management reviews this incident and addresses it appropriately, because one employee should not be able to undermine the positive reputation that the rest of the staff has worked hard to build.

The ingredients are super fresh and the bowl I got was an enormous portion size. The service was really fast and friendly. Being located in Westwood, the vibe was laid back and it was nice to sit outside. The beef I got was really tender and the kim chi, onions and sprouts all worked really well together. The Gogobop sauce was a savory, spicy mayo.

I was blown away by the service. We were seated quickly in a hip and classy, but very casual sitting area outside, and our server was extremely kind and helpful with menu questions from start to finish. Drink-wise, I ordered the frozen slushee, and it was delicious. For our food, we had the bread plate (delicious), green papaya salad (amazing balance of sweet and spicy notes), Brussels sprouts (on the spicy side, but so good), and potato wedges (great crunch, and the aioli was superb). We each got our own larger plate: I ordered the moo yang, which was absolutely terrific with a great balance of flavors. My spouse ordered the yaki udon and only had great things to say! The show-stopper of the night, however, was the s'mores ice cream. Order this. Just do it -- you'll thank me later! Plenty of parking nearby in lots, and so much to do in this area of Culver City! This will be our new splurge spot, as it's somewhat pricey overall, but *definitely* worth every penny. I can't wait to return!

The prices are very reasonable, especially by LA standards, and the staff are friendly and attentive. Sadly, I have a peanut allergy, so I wasn't able to try the satay, but according to my friends, it was really good! I got the Soto Betawi though, and it was super delicious and flavorful. Overall, I had a great experience and would definitely come back the next time I'm craving Indonesian food. I'd also recommend it to anyone in the area looking to give Indonesian cuisine a try.

Overall, there were some highlights, but the dishes that were a miss were pretty unenjoyable. My friend was super excited to see char siu on the menu since we had passed on Cantonese char siu the day before, but the char siu bowl that they had here was closer to Taiwanese braised pork belly rice. There were some pieces of meat that were tender and seasoned well, but the majority of pieces were too dry, and the rice to meat ratio was pretty bad; you're definitely not getting your money's worth with this dish. The other dish that was pretty bad was the rendang bowl. Rendang is one of my favorites dishes because of how tender the meat can be and how many different types of spices are used, but the one here misses the mark in every way: the pork was dreadfully dry, the pork wasn't seasoned well, and honestly, it was hard for us to finish the bowl. A complete waste of $16. The dishes that were enjoyed by our part included the fried fish cakes, the fried corn fritters and the skewers. These I would get again if I stopped by again. Overall, I was a bit disappointed by our meal. Everything on the menu sounded appetizing, but the execution was not there.

The braised pork in brown sauce was rich, tender, and melted in my mouth. My favorite of the meal was definitely the garlic vermicelli shrimp. The shrimp were fresh and cooked perfectly, while the vermicelli soaked up all of the garlic sauce. It was easily the standout dish and something I would come back specifically to order again. The Kung Pao chicken was tender, and a good balance of savory, sweet, and tang. The restaurant isn't that big but it does have tables suitable for larger groups. This is a decent spot for lunch. The only thing is the dishes are a little more expensive compared to other restaurants. The staff were attentive, efficient, and made sure everything arrived promptly which I appreciated.

The space feels worn -- menus tattered, décor dated, the whole interior overdue for a refresh. For a restaurant positioning itself at the higher end of Chinese dining, Meizhou Dongpo is sleeping on the finer details. No complimentary tea service, and rather than offering a pot for the table, they serve individual tea by the mug -- a comically oversized Western mug at that. Chopsticks arrive without spoons, and when you ask for one, you get silverware instead of the porcelain you'd expect at Chinese restaurant. The Peking duck accoutrements came with a little plastic spoon on the tray. Small things, but they add up.The fried rice was a letdown too and looked nothing like the menu photo. Spots like Din Tai Fung and Lunasia Signature are operating at a different level and the gap shows. Meizhou Dongpo has the bones of a great Chinese restaurant. The duck alone proves it. But until they invest in the experience around the food, it's hard to recommend at this price point.
