    Poke Bowl- Small Original Salmon

i ordered a small bowl, i didn't expect much because it was in downtown but to my surprise it's freshl and enough for me

I actually came up to California Plaza to hit up Earl of Sandwich, but I realized once I got here that I really wasn't feeling it that day. Thankfully, Poke Bar was right next to it, and that sounded a lot more appealing. Had to do a large bowl because I was actually quite starving on this particular day. Had salmon, tuna, albacore, and of course spicy tuna. It's obviously a little more expensive than your typical poke place, but it was definitely really good. Very fresh fish and vegetables. Great product for sure, super hit the spot! Service was great, no complaints here. Good to know that there is a solid poke spot in California Plaza. Pretty impressed that it has somehow managed to survive the pandemic given barely anyone is going into the office these days.

    Delicious poké Nom! Nom! Nom!

I've been familiar with PokeBar from their other location on La Brea/Olympic. Now that I've found on in Downtown LA, I don't have to trek across the city fore delicious poke. It's a great place for a quick bite. The service is quick, and their food/fish is fresh. This location was clean and there is ample outside seating in a nice breezeway. This location is located on Grand Av, between 3rd and 4th St. It's below street level, so you don't hear the hustle and bustle of traffic. If you're ever in the mood for some good poke, stop by and build your own bowl to your liking and you won't be disappointed.

Very tiny and where's the poke?

Not worth it. Got the tiniest portion of food. Can't believe it's $13.14 for a kids sized meal. Never ever seen these prices for poke before and it's normally my favorite food. It tasted ok but for these prices no way. I thought Ohana poke was bad but this is way worse. On top of it the parking in front was closed and had to park in the parking lot below which costed another $8. I asked if they validate and they made it seem absurd that they would do such a thing. TERRIBLE. Don't come here unless you want to waste $20 on a kids meal

I came in here for lunch and got their medium sized poke bowl which is 3 scoops of protein. They're not heavy handed on the scoops both protein wise and or the rice / salad, so you might want to order a size up or ask for little bit more rice. The ingredients taste fresh and they have a good selection of mix in's. The house sauce was perfectly flavored. Overall, I would come back when I'm feeling like a healthy lunch.

Visited in Februari while passing through LA. Came on a Friday afternoon for late lunch and was not so busy. Ordering is simple. If you enjoy poke, check out PokeBar in downtown. Fresh fish and ingredients. Build your own bowl and enjoy. I had a medium bowl with 3 choices of fish and loved it. Topped with everything and wasabi aioli to bring it all together. Picked up and sat outside to enjoy the fresh breeze. A wonderful lunch no doubt about it!

4.5 Stars! I enjoy coming here a lot since it's the only good poke place near my office in DTLA. They give you a stamp card, where if you get 10 stamps you get a free medium bowl. I'm on my 4th stamp card! The style of ordering food is just like Chipotle, you move down a line and tell the food preparer what toppings you want. For a medium bowl, you get 3 scoops of fish. The fish you can choose from is salmon, albacore, spicy tuna or regular tuna. I usually get 2 scoops of salmon and 1 scoop of tuna. They also give you 1 large scoop of rice and 1 large scoop of salad (which you can substitute for another scoop of rice). After that you can add several different sauces (ponzo/house/spicy mayo), and toppings (kale/corn/onions/edamame/pineapple/cilantro/jalapeno/etc.) Then you get another round of toppings (masago/ imitation crab meat/seaweed). Then you have a final round of toppings which you can choose between nuts/sesame/furikake/etc.) The entire poke bowl as a whole tasted pretty high quality. The salmon and tuna tasted fresh and good. The toppings compliment the fish and rice very well. The sauces helps blend everything together. Overall a pretty high quality poke bowl. The place is also very clean and the staff is fantastic!

Medium poke bowl with: corn, sweet onion, green onion, jalapeño, cilantro, cucumber, spicy mayo and crispy onion. Happy belly

Luckily for me, its Poke week on the RITUAL app - which has me venturing out to try new poke places. PokeBar is a bit of a walk for me from my office, but totally worth it! I ordered the RITUAL bowl from the app., which is the medium bowl with: corn, sweet onion, green onion, jalepeno, cilantro, cucumber, spicy mayo and I added crispy onion. I LOVED IT! The jalepeno added a great kick and their spicy mayo was way more spice than mayo, which I loved. Can't wait to go back and try something else! I didn't have to wait in line because of the RITUAL app, but there was a short line inside around 1:50, which is pretty late for the lunch rush. I can't imagine how it gets at noon. Cashier was very nice and friendly. I got good vibes .. AND it looked really clean in there.

Okay finally, a good place to get poke in downtown LA! I have tried several, some that added poke to their menu and some that are straight up poke places, but now I think I have found my spot. This place is a chain so they know what they're doing. I got there around 11:30 and luckily there was no line. Got the medium bowl which was 3 proteins - spicy tuna, albacore and scallops. Base of half brown rice, half kale salad. Added green onion, cucumber, kale, seaweed, crab, edamame and masago. Did a mix of the wasabi shoyu and spicy mayo. $13 total and they packaged everything up really nice. Took this outside to eat and it was delicious! Two thumbs up!

Almost like I ordered a large or something...I had it with edamame and seaweed salad on the side, with rice being a complementary side as well. The food is as good as Poke could possibly get, so I would definitely come back if I were in the area. The interior is pretty small with some seating along the wall and with around 2-3 tables outside. While I was able to find parking at the connected parking lot, I can see why it'd be a challenge as the parking lot is really small. But there is a neighborhood right next to it and a parking lot across the street so it's no worries on that end. Minimal interaction with staff but they seemed cool.

Food: My husband and I both ordered poke bowls with a mix of Hawaiian and spicy poke, along with…read moreshoyu and California roll poke. Everything tasted incredibly fresh right away, with clean flavors and a great balance of umami, savory richness, and just the right amount of spice. Each component complemented the others well, and nothing felt overly heavy or overpowering. It's easy to see why people say this is one of the most authentic poke spots in the area, the simplicity and quality really shine through. That said, personal preference-wise, I still find myself leaning toward Poke Express in Las Vegas (though to be fair, I've never been to Hawaii, so that might change one day). Price: Pricing is pretty standard for quality poke in Southern California. A regular bowl (about 1/3 lb of fish with rice and a side) typically runs around $15-17, while larger bowls can range from about $19-24 depending on portion size. Overall, expect to spend around $15-25 per person, which feels fair given the freshness and portion sizes. Ambiance: This is very much a grab‑and‑go style spot rather than a sit-down restaurant. It's located right along the street and almost always has a long line of people waiting, which tells you a lot about its popularity. Inside, there's a small bar area with a handful of high chairs, and a couple of tables outside, but seating overall is pretty limited. Not really a place to linger, more for a quick, casual bite. Service: Despite how busy it constantly is, service is efficient and straightforward. The staff keeps things moving quickly and stays organized, so even with a line, the wait doesn't feel too bad. No frills, but solid and dependable. Parking: There's a small side parking lot that can fit maybe around 10 cars, which fills up quickly during peak hours. Otherwise, you'll likely have to find street parking nearby and walk over. Not impossible, but it does take a little extra effort, especially when it's busy.

We got salmon x2, scallops, and shrimp. For our sides, seaweed salad and crabmeat. Base was half kale/half brown rice. Almost all the toppings. We got the garlic ponzu with spicy mayo in one corner.
