Was so happy to finally try this place out after seeing the daughter's tiktoks on my FYP for so long. Be prepared for a wait! Whether you order online or in person, whether there is a line or not. They are a real mom & pop shop, I only saw the mom working both the front and back, I think I saw the dad pop out from the back maybe once. The mom was extremely sweet and kind when she was taking everyone's orders and everyone was very patient with her while waiting for their food so that made me happy. We paid $70 for 5 rolls and 1 drink, maybe a little steep but I figure that fresh sushi is more expensive the further inland you go. Next time we come back we will definitely have to try the nigiri, even if we aren't nigiri people they looked incredible at other tables. The shrimp tempura roll, the dragon roll and candy roll tasted great, very happy with those. The spider roll was okay, i think it needed a bit more seasoning on the soft shell crab. The coco roll was also okay, better than the spider roll imo, maybe just a little too much coconut but it did balance out the sliminess of the salmon well. I don't go to mom and pop shops to rate based on ambiance, it's clean and maintained, that's all you need. Will definitely come back and try again, come here to support local businesses!!

Fat salmon nigiri, 6 pieces $23
    Stefany V.

The business name is accurate, I legit got both sushi and joy from my order! Found this spot through a friend's (Angel K, 5 star review below) social media post, specifically for their "fat salmon nigiri" - they have regular salmon or a truffle option, in a thick-cut 6 piece order as a special, for $22.95. You can easily find this online to order, and with tax, tips, and fees it'll be about $30 which feels a touch steep - maybe just walk in and order it, but it wasn't obvious on their printed menu. In any case, these are thick-ass slices of buttery salmon and I really enjoyed my order. I am tempted to try the truffle flavor next time, and wish they had a half and half option. This meal made a good lunch for me, they do offer a similar combo with nigiri, sashimi, and a roll. Their rolls also appeared to be competitively priced - just makes me bummed that I don't live nearby and I'm rarely in this area. That being said, I went by to pick up an order at 4PM and the lights were off and the dining room had a few dirty tables with food still out as if diners had stood up mid-meal and walked out? Bizarre and not exactly welcoming but this is a small spot with limited staff. Just a heads up for those dining in. Here's hoping to being in the area again soon to try more! NOTE: If you order online through their site, it appears to have an automatic 50 minute wait time and $3 convenience charge. I was able to pick up sooner, call to see if they can accommodate. Or maybe just call in your order to begin with.

Seared Salmon Nigiri & Lion King Roll
    Dai D.

I found out about this family-owned spot on TikTok. I've been there a few times now, (always pickup), mainly because of the nigiri. My go-to order is the Lion King Roll and jumbo salmon nigiri, either seared or fresh. It's not easy to find nigiri that's as fresh and plentiful as this. (Can you tell I love salmon)? I appreciate how they package takeout orders. Sauces are always on the side, and the ginger and wasabi's are separated in foil or everything's in divided containers, so they don't touch the rolls. As someone who never uses either (and forgets to ask for my meal without them), I love that extra care. The sushi itself is good and there's a great variety. That said, I am not a big fan of the dine-in atmosphere. There's plenty of seating, but it's always dark and I've never really seen anyone eating inside. There's also noticeable clutter behind the counter, such as random boxes and folded clothes. During today's visit, the lady at the front was very friendly but rang me up with soaking wet hands, which left my card and receipt wet. That was very off-putting to me because she came from behind the curtain, so I don't know if she'd just washed dishes or washed her hands or something. Overall though, the sushi is generous and fresh.

I FINALLY had the chance to check out Sushi & Joy off Southeastern near the 215 this past Friday night with my little sister, and I can absolutely see why they're gaining so much attention on TikTok and social media. This is a true mom-and-pop shop, run entirely by the owners (just mom and dad), which plays a big role in both the charm and the challenges. The food quality is excellent and definitely lives up to the hype, but because of limited staffing and growing popularity, wait times can be long. I waited about an hour for my two orders, and during that time I did notice a few customers leave due to the wait. That said, the food is worth it. The quality, freshness, and consistency really shine. I enjoyed everything from the salmon nigiri to the jumbo seared salmon nigiri--absolutely delicious and beautifully prepared. Prices are reasonable for the quality, and this is not an all-you-can-eat spot, which I actually appreciate given the care put into each dish. Service was doable considering the circumstances, and the atmosphere is simple but welcoming. Nothing fancy in terms of décor, but the restaurant is very clean and comfortable. They're getting four stars mainly due to staffing-related wait times, not because of the food or effort. My advice: avoid peak lunch or dinner hours if you can. I went around 6 PM on a Friday, and it was very busy. Overall, Sushi & Joy is a fantastic option if you're in the area and craving high-quality sushi from a hardworking mom-and-pop restaurant. Just come prepared to wait--and trust me, once the food arrives, it's totally worth it

Gyoza ramen & Yum yum crab bomb

Food is actually good found them due to a tik tok video it is very far from my side of town but since I was in the Henderson side I decided to finally give it a try. Ordered the salmon bomb very very good! Only bad side the lady in the front is not friendly. Gone twice and both times she was not very nice . First time I got the crab crab bomb and ramen, sushi very good. That is their specialty. Ramen was ok. Definitely try the salmon bombs! Unfortunately while I was there another family felt the same way and left due to customer service. Next time I'll order take out when on that side of town!

Giant salmon nigiri and salmon roll.

Saw this place on Instagram and wanted to give it a try to feed my salmon Nigiri addiction lol. This spot is amazing, best salmon nigiri I've ever had, almost too overwhelming, I definitely over ordered but I came here after the gym and was starving. Service was perfect and ambiance is low-key.

Super fresh sushi, very friendly staff. Now I will let you know that this is a Mom and Pop operation. I think there were literally 2 people working at 7pm on a Saturday. My wife and kids waited an hour for our to go order so please be respectful of the staff and their output capacity, if you order from here expect to wait a bit. BUT, I feel like for the value of rolls and nigiri it was totally worth it. The jumbo nigiri was generous with salmon and the rolls were high quality fish. We will definitely be returning when the sushi craving strikes.

My husband and I just finished doing a 1000 piece sushi puzzle and the cravings got to us (I attached the puzzle pic in here hehe). I luckily remembered this place from the owners daughter's Tiktok. We decided to order takeout and ordered the salmon, yellowtail, and eel nigiri as well as the Yuri roll and Eastern roll. Upon arrival I noticed the parking area is plentiful and going inside was welcoming. The place felt cozy but we didn't dine in so I wasn't really focused as my hungry self wanted to get the food and go home. I was handed my food and greeted with a nice "have a good day" as I left. When I took my first bites of the salmon nigiri I tasted how fresh and melt in your mouth it was! It was so filling and the rest of the food was delicious. The portions seemed appropriate from rice to sushi/fish ratio. I appreciated how the sauces were put to the side so I can control the amount I wanted on my sushi. Something to keep in mind is that as an ala carte menu they focus on quality over quantity which shows. We definitely would like to come back and dine in next time.

    Seared salmon nigiri

This place should be packed! Giant salmon nigiri, creative rolls, this place is awesome! Stumbled upon this place and no one was inside other than me picking up my carryout order. I ordered two giant salmon, one seared nigiri the other the sample with nigiri, sashimi and roll, tuna and albacore sashimi and two rolls. The two rolls were crab based and tuna based since we wanted to try it all. We loved the rolls, they were very big and the sauces were unique and complimented the sushi. The sashimi was good quality we enjoyed the white tuna. As far as à la carte this unassuming sushi restaurant is as good as it gets. The price for what you get was vert reasonable. Anytime I'm craving salmon sushi, I don't think there's anywhere else I'll go. When they say giant, they really mean it.

    Tim D.

Wow. Finally something that actually lives up to the hype. I saw this spot all over TikTok and honestly expected another letdown, but this place is exactly as good as it looks. The seared salmon pieces are massive, perfectly torched on the outside, buttery and tender inside. They drizzle it with a creamy sauce, a little sweet glaze, and top it with fresh green onions that give it just the right bite. You can tell it's made fresh, not rushed. It really has that true mom and pop feel too. Simple, no frills, just quality food done right. Definitely worth it. I'd go back without hesitation.

Still consistently delicious! I love sushi and joy and I live in Summerlin so I drive a ways away just to get here. When I went here today, a lot of people were waiting and I also noticed some angry customers complaining about how long they waited. I totally understand where they are coming from but I just wanted to say that yes there is a long wait that is why I would suggest putting in a phone order ahead of time. She will usually tell you about how long the wait will be. So that helps a lot. She even stayed open a little later tonight than she usually does just so that she could fulfill all the orders I suppose. So just in case there are going to be any reviews about the wait time I just wanted to say that the food is worth it! And the owners are so nice. I don't think they mean harm or ill will. They really do the best and provide consistently good quality food! I'm used to waiting long when I come here, but I also prepare for it. If you know, you know. The food is so worth it, especially the jumbo salmon, the uncut Philadelphia roll, the sweet lovers roll, the yuni roll and the tiger roll are just some of what's on the top of my list! Give this place a try you won't regret it! Don't let the wait time scare you just put in a phone order and you'll be good to go!

    Pink lady
    Therese B.

The food here is so homey! We came here for early dinner. The lady at the front greeted us nicely. We ordered the pink lady, crisp rainbow, miso ramen and salmon teriyaki. The pink lady rolled was surprisingly so good! So simple but delicious. The ramen was flavorful and had a great broth. Please be patient though since it was just the lovely couple preparing everything and they get a lot of to go orders.

Rainbow Roll, Joy Roll and Shrimp Lover Roll

I watch the daughters YouTube channel and always see her sushi Sunday that she gets from her moms restaurant. The rolls always looking amazing. We finally had the opportunity to visit's Las Vegas and we made it to Sushi & Joy. My favorite was the Joy roll but all the rolls we had were delicious. They were really good portions and the prices were great. Very clean and the owner makes all the rolls herself. We will be coming back whenever we get the chance to visit again. Definitely recommend visiting this place!

Chef Shuji runs the restaurant with his wife next to him in the kitchen. The fish here is flown in from Japan and of the highest quality as you can see from the sheen and fat marbling. The tuna melts in your mouth and bite after bite is a wonderful experience as you pair it with soy sauce, fresh Wasabi, yuzu Wasabi, or some combination of the condiments provided. This is also the first sushi restaurant I have ever been to that automatically brings out fresh Wasabi without having to ask. The portions are generous and we left feeling very satisfied. Even though we were very full, we took a look at the dessert menu. Not pictured here is a sweet potato with ice cream and brown sugar glaze. This dish on the menu was unassuming but the taste was so decadent. Quite possibly the best and sweetest sweet potato I have ever tasted. The chef slowly roasts them over a 2 hour period, rotating the potatoes every so slightly every 15 minutes. The sweet potato could be a dessert by itself, it was that good! Chef Shuji is a charming and funny host. He regularly comes out to greet his customers and makes sure they are enjoying their meal, very high-touch.
