Amazing and convenient poke spot for people in the Arlington area. I ordered a large customized bowl (squid salad, tuna and salmon). The squid salad and tuna were just ok but salmon was really good. I also ordered their boba (Thai tea). It tasted better without the pearls in my opinion (boba was way too chewy). The order was placed through Uber eats and came in about 15 minutes right after ordering.

I ordered takeout from Poke It Up on August 14th. To my absolute disgust, while eating, I discovered a dead roach in the food. This was not a minor issue--it was clearly visible, and I documented everything with photos, including the receipt. I immediately lost my appetite and was deeply concerned about the food safety standards at this establishment. Since they do not list an email address, I contacted the restaurant through both Facebook and Instagram, sharing the pictures and requesting a refund. So far, I have not received any response. Due to the seriousness of this issue, I have also reported the incident to the local health department to ensure it is properly investigated. This was an unacceptable experience that no customer should ever have to go through. I will not be ordering from Poke It Up again, and I strongly urge the business to address this issue immediately for the safety of its future customers.

This lady sneezed on the food by the front ordering window and then continued to serve customers. I also watched her charge black customers first before making their food but made all the other customers' first before charging them!!!! WTF!

I came here to try poke. I'm a poke-connoisseur, and have tried poke from everywhere-- LA, Japan, Hawaii.. I know what good poke is. Came here to get a Large build-your own bowl. For the price ($15), I expected more, but this definitely got the job done! Tips for business owner--- *give more sauce... and MIX the fish with the sauce, not just put it on top. *roast the corn *provide more variety of special sauces. Add sesame oil as a sauce... again most importantly, MIX the fish and the sauces together before putting it on the rice. Here's my order: -Brown Rice - Salmon, Tuna, YellowTail ---- next time no yellowtail for me, and add extra salmon -seaweed salad -crab salad -cucumbers -masago -all the tempura toppings + Furakake, -I get a mix of both Eel Sauce + Spicy Mayo (extra spicy mayo), and some soy sauce DEEELICIOUS!!!! I just wished they could roast their corn a bit-- it was very lackluster to me.... and the yellowtail wasnt my favorite. The salmon was very fresh and it melted in my mouth. Next time, I'd get all salmon!!!! Overall, I would come here again if I'm ever craving poke. Their prices gone insanely high though!

Delicious poke spot located in the food court of Pentagon City Mall. Ingredients were fresh and the salmon was soft and silky. Service was quick and friendly. The only gripe I had was that some of my salmon pieces were stuck together and not sliced thoroughly. Otherwise, my poke bowl was excellent and super tasty; I really liked the wasabi aioli. Definitely check this place out!

Nice variety of fish for poke bowl and many toppings including seaweed salad, avacado, edamame and mango for no additional charge. As a base you can choose sushi rice, brown rice, salad or half and half. I recommend the sushi rice and salad!

Was in the mall and early for an appointment. Although not very hungry, I could't pass up poke. I love it! I got the two protein option with salmon and ahi tuna. Both were very fresh. I do prefer the ahi Tuna at Poke papa- it has more seasoning. Overall the ingredients were very fresh. My avocado had a brown spot but otherwise everything was great. The seaweed salad was especially flavorful. The portion is not as big as other places. LOVED the fact that I could get Pass-O-Guava juice!! I will return...

Delicious! Poke it up serves build-your-own bowls with classic ingredients like spicy crab, seaweed salad, avocado (not even an extra charge), tamago, and plenty of fish (shrimp, tuna). I made a bowl with crab meat and spicy crab salad, seaweed salad, tamago, avocado, edamame, sesame seeds, and white sushi rice. We also ordered the virgin mojito soda which honestly slapped so hard. You definitely have to try it and/or a Hawaiian sun. Delivery was fast too, so you best believe you'll see me ordering again.

Surprisingly decent for a mall food court place. Was a bit hesitant to try poke here given the location, but was fairly good and competitively priced. Tend to give a bit more rice so I'd vote for the rice/salad mix if you order the bowl, but seems common in a lot of poke bowl shops read more

In a food court full of two- to three-star restaurants, Poké It Up stands out. Fresh and flavorful, it seeks to disrupt standard food court fare. The sushi burrito was delicious. I ordered it with spicy tuna and ahi tuna, as well as seaweed salad, corn, drizzled with a wasabi aioli. I don't know if "burrito" is a great title. It's somewhere between a hand roll and a wrap. The fish was tender and high quality. Service was pretty snappy, but I was surprised that the "burrito" was cut in half. Out of fast-food restaurants and mega-chains, Poké It Up brings high quality fish and high quality service. If I come back to the Pentagon City Mall, I will dine here again. read more

First time trying this place. The guy making the bowl was so stingy, wouldn't put very much. I had to keep on asking him again. Taste is basic. Ingredients were not high quality. Salad was romaine. There's definitely better tasting food in this food court even fast food style. Also for what it is, $12 for 2 scoops of protein after tax is pretty expensive. Do not recommend. read more

I've been very impressed with this little mall fast casual place. It's a great meal for a great price. My youngest and I split the Volcano bowl with half rice and half salad and subbed more tuna for the salmon. My other companions had Hawaii and regular volcano bowls. Everyone left full and pleased. I had read about Poke It Up's opening in the Fashion Center at Pentagon City. I was at the mall today and so decided to get some to bring home with me. The food exceeded my expectations (which typically are not too high for a Mall food court). I got a large bowl ($12.95) which comes with choice of rice, choice of 3 scoops of fish (the small bowl comes with 2 scoops), any of the vegetables they have that you want, choice of sauce, and more. I got mine with brown rice, spicy tuna, salmon, ahi tuna, masago, edamame, avocado, cucumbers, seaweed salad, sesame seeds and spicy aioli. Everything was really fresh and really good! I definitely recommend Poke It Up and will be going back myself. read more

Pretty nice way to have a meal with 3 types of seafood (spicy tuna, ahi and yellowtail), brown rice and salad greens, plus edamame, crab meat (4 kinds of seafood, kinda....) , seaweed, masago eggs, tempura flakes and tofu. I had them serve the wasabi aoli on the side and it worked really well. Almost too much food for $13 and change. Very tasty, seafood was fresh, the toppings really punched it up. The bowl was kind of cheap and the seating area basic, but for the location, this was a very good meal! read more

I ordered ubereats from here and it was soooo good. I wound up paying $20 for a regular bowl bc of the delivery but it was surprisingly worth it. Definitely the best poke I've had in VA!! I had the yellowtail and salmon - everything was super fresh and delicious. I would recommend. read more

This was our first poke experience outside of Hawaii, and it was surprisingly good considering it comes from a mall food court. LOL. We ordered the regular bowl with two scoops of tuna and salmon. The fish was fine, but the sides were awesome. The fusion of seaweed salad, rice, edamame, mango were complemented well by the mango dressing. I liked that this was a healthy, non-fast-food lunch option at the mall. Thumbs up. read more

Despite the place had no lines today, I still had to wait for 20 min before the staff behind the counter cared to come and take the orders. The guy was busy making ramen and ignored the people waiting to order. Finally another guy showed up and I told him about the long wait. He didn't apologies and just asked what I wanted. Very bad service and attitude overall. Finally, as I was eating my poke bowl, there were white hairs in my cold. This will be the last time I am going there. read more

I am torn. This is my go-to place for poke delivery and usually I am so very happy. In fact, I often buy two bowls and save one for lunch or dinner. If I had to rate Poke It Up Arlington based on tonight's order, though, I'd give it a 2.75 at best. The rice is undercooked and over-vinegared and the Thai Iced Tea is so watered down, it's basically sweet orange water with boba at the bottom. I'm not giving up on them....everyone gets at least one free pass. Still sad though. Picking through the toppings while I wait for my rice-maker to ding. read more

Yes, this place is great for Uber Eats. I was stranded in DC for 4 days due to the polar vortex in Michigan. I had a Poke bowl delivered twice. Fresh and yummy. Got the large with 3 scoops of fish. It filled me up and was a great balance of flavor. I also tried the Hawaiian drink. Not impressed. It came in a can. A fresh smoothie type drink would pair better with the Poke bowl. Try the mango with mango sauce. Yum yum! read more

I have never been inside the store, only ordered through DoorDash. So I can't comment on the service or cleanliness. But OMG the food is SOOO GOOD!! I've never had poke before so I have nothing to compare it to, but it's delicious nonetheless. The ahi is super fresh as are the other ingredients. I love the flavor of the wasabi aoli. I'm a big wimp when it comes to spicy food so I was worried the aoli would be too much for me, but it wasn't at all! I love it so much I ordered it 2 days in a row. read more

I was not expecting this place to be as good as it is. I've been twice now. The first time I went I was in the mall with my fiance and decided to get lunch as saw this place for the first time - we were a little hesitant as it is raw fish in the "mall". We were both so pleasantly surprised. We both got large 3 fish bowls; honestly, one large could've fed us both. They have a variety of raw fish as well as crab and shrimp. All bowls come with UNLIMITED toppings! Meaning avocado, masago, tempura flakes, seaweed salad, aioli sauce, eel sauce, etc are all included! I loved this! The second time I went was in the mall returning something on my lunch break during the week and though hey why not stop by that super yummy poke place. This time I ordered the regular size that comes with 2 fish options. Honestly, this was still pretty big and was more than I needed for lunch. Overall I have been very impressed with this mall poke place. Other reviewers have mentioned that the rice is lacking - both times I've been I've gotten a lot of rice - maybe it is just depending on the person working. The second time I went they were out of tempura flakes which was disappointing but I won't dock them on that as it was super busy and stuff like that happens. This is my go-to lunch spot if I'm having a craving for a poke bowl. The ingredients are fresh and the fish is tasty. I would say this is easily one of the better restaurants in the Pentagon City Mall that isn't a chain. The service is quick and you get a lot of food per bowl for about $12. Poke bowls are probably my biggest recent addiction and this place is the best I've had so far. Oddly the ingredients seem inconsistent, the first time I had the added cucumber; it was flavored; the other time it was not. I think it is a bit pricey, especially since PokeHub has lower prices; yet poke it up has slightly better quality. This spot only gets 4/5 from me because the poke burrito is the same price as a bowl but the size of an egg roll. Clean and tasty and now a regular spot for when I DoorDash read more

I think this may be my first time here. But I don't think it will be my last time. This place was about to close yesterday and my friend and I got here just in time to order two bowls. I got the vegetarian Bowl I think it's called all vegetables or something. It was pretty amazing. Brown rice vegetables tofu pickle ginger so many different things. When I sat down to eat it I ended up mixing everything together. It was actually fun to eat because it was so different. The taste was amazing and fresh even though they were about to close for the day. The only reason I took away one star is because it seems pretty expensive. Two bowls and two can drinks for $27... I am not sure about this price. read more

Most amazing poke I've had in this area. The only other amazing poke I've tasted was in Hawaii. I was so happy to lay eyes on this place, because it is at the end of the food court. The fish is FRESH (personal favorites are the ahi tuna and the spicy tuna). The assortment of toppings offered is a delightful. You can opt for sushi rice, brown rice, salad or any combination of those. There is a nice array of sauces available. You can make this poke your own. Service is very pleasant. By far the best food offered in the food court at Fashion Centre. This has become at least a weekly indulgence for us...! read more

Good portion, fresh fish. I asked for all toppings since I was too lazy to pick and choose, and in my opinion, the crushed Doritos was a mistake. I've made fried rice with potato chips, so I'm not oppose of the adventure, but I just don't think Doritos particularity goes well in a Poke. Next time, I'll be ordering everything minus the crushed chips. read more

The flavor was delicious but the takeout bag leaked pork juice (?) all over my other groceries so that kinda sucked. That's the only reason for my 4 stars this time, but the food was amazing as always!

I put in an order on the app at 11 on the dot and ordered two items- a mix plate, and a katsu/chicken bbq plate. It's now almost an hour in and it's still not done... I am questioning how service can actually operate when it takes this long for two plates to be made. Meanwhile, I've slowly seen a bunch of plates come out for people who ordered in... not quite sure when they ordered, but when I arrived, no one was at the counter for a few minutes and then someone finally came along and saw my order receipt. I will say, while I love the chain, this specific location is unacceptably slow. The bbq mix plate is also almost $30 which is a hard sell, considering it's a lot cheaper currently in places like San Diego... I'm extremely disappointed and I don't like to give negative reviews, but customer service is lacking the check in that could have alleviated my frustration (since I was told the wait would be 15 minutes tops). I wouldn't recommend L&L in Annandale unless they made changes. Service is too slow, there's a lack of communication, and the meals are way too expensive. Again- I hate writing negative reviews, but time is valuable, and a fast casual place should be better equip with adequate staff with honest timelines. I am a believer of second chances, so please make this right.

I added this casual spot to my list a couple months ago, but didn't have concrete plans to check it out. Driving to Manassas and back on I-66 from where I live would cost half of my brain cells and all my patience. However, a few friends and I drove out to Shenandoah this past Friday evening, and I made a convincing argument that HawaU would be on the way. By the time we arrived, we were all incredibly hungry and ready to wolf down anything edible. The ordering process was easy: we ordered and paid at the counter, grabbed a seat at one of the few tables, and waited ~10-15 minutes for the food (parts of it are made to order). LOCO MOCO (BOWL) - 9.99 The chipotle-sized bowl was topped with loco moco: white rice base topped with hamburger patty, fried egg, grilled pineapple slice, and a generous pour of beef & mushroom gravy, plus sides of fresh cabbage salad and mac salad. The gravy nostalgically reminded me of the ones I'd get from cafeteria-style school lunches -- thick, salty, slightly starchy, yet oddly comforting. The egg, hamburger patty, and rice were pretty standard, but the familiarity of the gravy tied the whole dish together nicely. Both salads were good -- the cabbage was more light and refreshing, while the mac salad felt a bit heavy after all the loco moco. Since it's my first time eating loco moco, I can't say how it compares to others. However, I found HawaU's incredibly comforting and hearty. It really hit the spot for me, and I ate the whole bowl within 10 minutes. The loco moco is definitely their signature option and a must try. My friends who got the spicy pork bowl and udon thought both were just OK and not special.

They also have an ube flavor one that's good. The donuts are around $4.25 I think. They have in house baked buns you can buy a pack of. I love their buns, anytime I meal prep hamburgers I buy the buns from here. There pack of 6/8 buns are $7.25 or so. Gwenies has a ton of coffee, tea, refresher, and smoothie drinks. They also have a huge variety of pastries. I only spoke on what I've had. I recommend trying it out! The service here is alright, I personally love their buns folks at Lapu Lapu, they always feel warm and hospitable. Ambiance is cute and casual!

We've been loyal customers of Poke It Up at the Pentagon Mall for quite some time. As two older professionals who truly enjoy good food and good service, this was one of our favorite spots until today. We visited the establishment on Saturday, May 25, 2025, at approximately 2:00 PM. Unfortunately, our visit was shockingly disappointing. The young man working behind the counter was not only visibly disgruntled but outright rude. We approached the counter cheerfully, as we always do, but were met with hostility. When we tried to engage politely, he responded with complete indifference. After my friend commented, "You must not want our business," he looked us dead in the eye and said, "I don't care if I get your business." That statement alone made it clear: he should not be the face of this business. We walked away without ordering because we refuse to support an establishment that treats its customers with such disregard. Whether he was having a bad day or simply doesn't care, it reflects poorly on the entire operation. Customer service matters and this was a major letdown. We hope the management takes this seriously and reconsiders who they allow to represent their brand. Sadly, we won't be returning. read more

We love the owners and wanted to see them do well....the tall new hateful lady who doesn't know how to handle customers was complained about to owners as the season guy knows I buy 2 diet Pepsi every day and order threw Uber 3 times -5 times a week all those poke bowl orders of mine and virtually apartment complex can't stand her crude odd behavior and will give biz Yo our wonderful Asia bistro totally from now on. Hard enough living here already with community talking - don't need cruel people who have no customer service or no how to handle repeats . She is ridiculously rude and obnoxious and with very little common sense believe me I owed a dime not only did I pay it but told her karma is a b....ch....it's coming back on her every-time she's horrible to people...
