I love poke and this was my first visit. It was okay, but not great. Portions were small and the tuna had hard, white gristle running through it. Definitely not sushi grade. I did like all the add on's to choose from, although again, small portions for the price. I think nextime I want poke, I'll hit the food trucks in Oregon where you get twice as much and better quality for the same price. read more

Man, this place is right up the street from me and I wanted it to be my new, go to spot. I ordered take out here twice, each time they really skimmed the portions. I ordered 3 bowls this time, and for $14.00 a piece I figured they would be filling. We had to add extra avocado at home, there was barely any protein, rice, or salad. Quick review.. First time we tried Poke Qube was nearly 4 months ago, they had fresh sushi and good portions. Initially, the $40 cost was worth it. Now, June 2020 - the sushi is not fresh and they changed containers, the middle of the contained is raised and it's just a smaller portion all together. Surprised at the ratings on this place, pretty disappointing overall. I'm thinking based on how many 5 Star reviews there were left by people without profile pictures that something fishy is going on here (speaking of fishy we'll get to that later). Maybe this area is just so poke deprived that this subpar performance comes off as good. Overpriced (probably why they don't have the prices advertised). The salmon smelled a bit fishy, which means I question its freshness. Sauce selection is lacking. They limit your side selection. And at the end of the day the portion size was teeny-tiny. I really wanted to like this place! I saw that they opened right before the pandemic and wanted to support their business. I also REALLY love poke bowls and was excited to have a new spot in the couv. I went around 1pm on a weekday and when I went inside to look at the fish, it definitely did not look fresh, almost as if it was sitting out for a day. I ordered spicy tuna and shrimp in my bowl since none of the other fish looked appetizing. They were very generous with their portions, but it was definitely a mediocre bowl compared to all the other amazing poke spots in Portland. That said, the owner was lovely and hospitable! Fast, convenient and very good. They offer poke bowls and regular sushi rolls. I ordered the poke bowl which you build yourself via a menu of different options from the base (white or brown rice) to the protein and many other choices including the sauce. Times are rough and it breaks my heart to see this establishment not open up too long ago and have a pandemic occur that affects their business. I try as much as I can to still order take out at different places so that they can get through this difficult time. I haven't had poke in such a long time and there isn't really a place in Vancouver to get them. I decided this is the best opportunity to get my fix while also supporting local businesses. I ordered a poke bowl via their online website and it was pretty easy. I also requested to have curbside pickup and all in all, the whole process was easy. For $14 including tips, I didn't really think it was worth it. I felt skimped on the protein (Salmon) and I didn't think the bowl was filling enough. Mind, I grew up in poke central back in the Bay and I loved how filling and satisfied I felt afterwards. However, this sadly didn't meet it. Tamago had a weird taste, but otherwise, everything was just below par. I would hate to base judgement on just this one time so I'll give it another go after all the madness ends. read more

Finally, a place with legit grab-and-go sushi and customizable Poke on this North side of the river!!! This family-owned spot just opened and still had a few minor kinks to work out, but what's important to me is the fish is good quality and the ingredients are fresh and delicious. I also appreciate the daughter making recommendations about sauces for certain meats. I tried 2 Poke bowls and both were very good. The kinks: - The older parents move pretty slowly putting bowls together, but you can tell the daughter is still training them. (It opened less than a week ago so I'd probably be slow too). -They were out of a couple ingredients (Nori and green onion) that are listed as available toppings on the menu. It was early in the day when I went. -No sesame seeds (some in the sauce but none available as toppings- for me that's a poke standard). All in all a welcome addition to Vancouver with good quality fish and a convenient location in Hazel Dell. Will definitely be back. read more

Bummed because I ordered online and got a confirmation message but the restaurant claims they didn't get the order. I showed up and had to wait another 30 minutes for my order even though I was the only customer there. It was more expensive in the store than online (what?). I'll have to check my card tomorrow to see if they billed me twice. Food wasn't good. Edamame was cold, nearly frozen. Other stuff was meh. Don't think I'll be going back there. Very filling and delicious! I got the double shrimp with avocado and I barely got half way through the bowl! Sorry I didn't take a photo, I was just so excited to dig in. Finally poke on this side of the river! We flipped a U-turn when we saw this while out for a drive during the pandemic. This totally fits my weekly craving for Poke. The sweetest family seems to own this shop, and you can tell they take great pride in their hospitality and quality of food! The poke is super fresh and delicious. Flavor profiles were right on it! A friend and I stopped in for lunch, and it was pretty conveniently located. This place had great options, fresh fish, and high-quality ingredients. Elizabeth ran me through the various options (super customizable!), and I ended up getting a salmon and yellowtail bowl over brown rice with cucumber, onion, cilantro, tamago, seaweed salad, edamame, and shredded nori mixed with their house sauce. I rarely take the time to write reviews on here but I feel I have to share my experience with this place. I have had Poke all over the US and this place is the worst I've had. I got a Salmon Poke bowl and a few roles. $80+. The rolls were ok but wildly expensive for the quality of ingredients and flavor. The Poke was flavorless and the Salmon was fishy and poorly cleaned. For the life of me I can't understand how you screw up farmed Salmon for a Poke bowl. I couldn't even eat it all. The toppings were also low quality. At the end of the day, the extreme lack of any flavor was the most offensive for me. Stay away! read more

I was so excited to see this pop up in YELP. We don't have this in Vancouver so we tried it out today. It was great! Got the make your own poke bowl. They have a good selection for protein and sides. It totally hit the spot. Growing up Hawaii we have this all the time and I have to say that this poke bowl was just like eating back home. They have sushi rolls too so we still need to try those. If you're looking for tiny portions of over-priced and slightly stale fish, then this could be the place for you. Restaurant is drab and uninviting, and was nearly empty when we stopped for lunch. There's no menu on the wall... just a paper taped to the counter showing the choices for "build your own" poke bowl. I asked the young woman behind the counter if everything is "build your own" or if they had any pre-set combinations to recommend. She grunted "build your own" which was the extent of our conversation. The base layer in my bowl was brown rice and mixed greens. Rice was gummy and completely unseasoned and the mixed greens were going brown around the edges. Proteins were miniscule... "2 scoops" was really about 2 tablespoons... and other than a slight color difference the ahi tuna and salmon tasted nearly identical... meh. Mrs. G's shrimp was standard frozen small salad shrimp like one might find at your local big box store... perhaps 3 or 4 small shrimp per "scoop". Fish was slightly glooey and sticky in an unnatural way... had me wondering whether it's treated with something to keep it looking fresh? Wasn't spoiled or off... just wasn't the deliciously fresh, carefully prepared fish that a good poke demands. Sauces and toppings were standard fare... nothing special... the spicy mayo nothing more than mayo with hint of sriracha. This was all served in a small and very shallow bowl (6" x 1.5") which I appreciated in the end given the lackluster food quality. Grimod knows that more is not always better! The rice had no flavor, and the dish itself was very dry and flavor less even though I added different sauces. I have been to a lot of poke places and I have never been one that doesn't have the menu or pricing listed. They first told me I could build my own bowl and get two protein choices. Little did they mention that the two I chose were an extra $2. Then the portion size alone is super small. I am a small person but had to add more to my bowl just to satisfy my hunger. Clark County has been lacking a place for a good poke bowl. I was so happy to see this place pop up where the old Pita Pit/yolicious was. Basic selection of raw and cooked seafood. Good sides, decent portion, and pretty good quality fish for a strip-mall poke bowl. They even make fresh sushi rolls. My bowl was $14 with tax, but I will happily pay that for a good bowl versus the same amount on a mediocre burger. Everyone's prices have gone up. Support this place so it sticks around.
