    hot sunset with seaweed salad

I visited Poke Tiky Bar on a Saturday 5pm and there was no wait. I ordered the Hot Sunset and service was quick. The bowl itself was really fresh and delicious, I liked how all the ingredients were mixed together with the sauce before being put on the bowl. This made sure that each bite had the perfect amount of sauce. There was plenty of seating outside, but the shop itself was too tiny to sit indoors. Would definitely come again and try their different options!

Delicious poke bowls with lots of protein. We customized two bowls - large which comes with 3 proteins. My favorite was the octopus and salmon. Scallop was good but not my favorite. The spicy tuna was flavorful but I prefer the texture of the cube tuna. Top it with some delicious sauce and toppings over some rice and it makes a perfect lunch/dinner pairing. The bf ordered online and once he arrived it was ready to pick up.

Make your own bowl. Spicy salmon and tuna with the works.

Customer service : polite, friendly and fast. Food: nice presentation. Topping optio s were lacking and fish wasn't as fresh as I'd like. Granted, it wasn't bad but I was hoping for better tasting fish. I tried this place bec I needed my biked fixed at the bike store next door and I was famished. Though the poke was okay. I don't think I will be returning soon.

The great reviews made me excited for this poke spot but it left much to be desired. They didn't have that many toppings, the pineapple topping was canned, they forgot the ginger on one of the bowls. They don't have the option for sushi rice and the white rice wasn't the best. The fish was ok quality but I wouldn't order from here again as I've had better poke bowls.

Despite being VERY confused as to what was actually on their menu before going, I really loved my food and the experience at Poke Tiky. Their main gig is poke (some sort of protein with veggies and usually an Asian sauce over rice). I got the vegetarian poke bowl (one of the standard options) and subbed the tahini for sweet chili sauce + added avocado. It was really good and was a really large portion. You can also make a custom bowl with your own protein/veggie/sauce options. The custom bowl also allows you to choose between 3 sizes. They also offer bubble tea and a really nice hot breakfast menu, but breakfast is only Saturday and Sunday. The website doesn't have the menu up yet and has photos of sushi, so that was a little confusing. They also had blenders on the back counter, so I'm hoping they add smoothies or something similar. Overall, it was pretty great! I can't wait to go back and try another bowl.

I LOVE this spot! It's a build your own poke bowl spot with the usual ingredients, but a great addition to the Vanderbilt food scene. The staff is always super friendly and the food is always fresh and tasty! The presentation is also always soo cute.

Delicious bowls! Ordered a medium and did not receive the 3rd protein, shrimp. Other than that, excellent!

The menu is pretty diverse with various appetizers, sushi, and also ramen/curry so your standard izakaya fare. One of my favorite dishes here has been the chirashi. The fish was very fresh and it's pretty affordable. I've only ever been here in groups of two and I probably would recommend it for smaller groups because the space itself is small and most of the tables are two-seaters if I recall correctly.

It's been open for a few years, so clearly it has a good enough formula to keep the neighborhood happy. I have been here once before, but returned last week after dining several meals at Tomoni in Jackson Heights. Apparently, the owners are friends. Nonetheless, I needed to make the comparison. After my first few bites of their Tora Don and Chirashi Don, it was clear that this restaurant has the better quality seafood. Each slice of sashimi had vibrant colors, clean taste, and the proper texture. Tomoni is not bad, but fall slightly short of this caliber. With that said, there is an even farther gap between their rice quality. Though Tora is very good, Tomoni produces nearly perfect texture and acidity for my taste buds. Other than the best omakase restaurants in NYC, Tomoni shines as one of the best versions of sushi rice in the five boroughs. Service is good and space is cute. If I have a craving for some decent Japanese food, I would drive 20 minutes here for a meal anytime.

While wandering through Bed-Stuy on a weekday evening, my husband and I decided to try out this new…read moresushi spot. It wasn't terrible--but I had a lot of mixed feelings. Food: 3/5 I'm a huge sushi fan, so I was excited when I saw a deluxe sashimi set on the menu. Unfortunately, it didn't quite hit the mark. The scallop was thinly sliced and lacked the rich texture I was hoping for. The salmon and other cuts were decent, but short and oddly shaped--chunky yet small, which made the whole presentation feel a bit off for something labeled deluxe. We also tried to branch out and ordered the short rib entree. For $21, it was shockingly small--definitely a single-person portion, not sharable. I added extra ikura to a salmon donburi bowl for $2, but it was barely a teaspoon's worth--just enough to say it was there. Oddly, the salmon slices in that bowl were thinner than the sashimi we had just eaten, and overall, it left me still hungry even after sharing a maki roll. Lastly, my husband ordered a green salad, which somehow took the entire meal service to arrive. When it finally came, it was just plain romaine, cucumbers, radish, and dressing. For a dinner that clocked in at over $150 (after tip), we definitely left underwhelmed. Service: 3/5 This part wasn't bad, just confusing. We were seated quickly, but the pacing of the meal was strange. Our seaweed salad and soups came out promptly, but the green salad came last, after the hot dishes and nearly after my husband finished eating. Also, a small thing--but when I'm paying $16 for four oysters, I want to know what kind they are. The menu just said "West Coast oysters," but our server couldn't tell us the variety or origin. Not a huge deal, but it added to a general lack of polish that didn't quite match the pricing. I don't think I'd return. For the price, there are better sushi options in Brooklyn with higher quality, better portions, and clearer service. Still, I appreciate new spots opening up in the neighborhood, and I'm always happy to try something new. Hopefully they refine the menu and service with time.

We started with the salmon belly carpaccio which I'd say isn't really a carpaccio because the salmon isn't sliced as thinly as you'd expect. But! I mention that just to set expectations. Nomenclature aside, it's an excellent appetizer. Served in a truffle and ponzu sauce, the salmon is lightly seared which yields two different textures to the fish. It practically melts in your mouth. Highly recommend this dish. For my entree I went with the trio don, which is 6 pieces of sashimi served over your choice of plain or sushi rice (sushi rice for me). The fish was fresh and flavorful. The portion was perfect for me. My boyfriend ordered a yellowtail roll and enjoyed that as well. We also shared a carafe of the cold house sake. I'd definitely come back and try more items on the menu. It's great for sharing and trying new dishes. The staff was friendly and attentive, and the prices were very reasonable.
