Every time we have gone the staff has been super friendly and helpful- which is really important for the first time you go because there are a lot of choices and not all the flavors mix well. Really this is a place you need to try multiple times to get right. With so many options and some very strong flavors, it's easy for one thing to overpower your whole meal. My dish the second time we went was so much better for my taste because I had a better feeling of what worked together for me. Opening day, woohoo!! After walking by PokeHub yesterday, I was excited to see that they were opening today, so my friend and I decided to try it out. Outside their storefront, they had a sandwich board promotion for a free drink for opening day. The store was set up the same as the former Iceberry, with clear and awesome renovations. It was clean and pristine!! The menus were laid out overhead similar to Chipotle and easy to follow: 1. Size (2, 3, or 4 scoops) 2. Base (white or brown rice, salad, burrito, tacos or chips) 3. Toppings (we did cilantro, jalapeño, cucumber, green onion, cucumber and corn) 4. Nemo 5. Sauce - with their awesome recommendations 6. Additional toppings, including crab and avocado 7. Drinks The staff was friendly and helpful, pointed out what our drink options were, and showed us where utensils were. The bowl exceeded our expectations. The shrimp was a little slumped on in comparison to the scallops, but still awesome. The fish was fresh (my friend is SUPER picky with seafood, and really enjoyed it). The jalapeño added an excellent kick which we both love!! The rice was well cooked; you definitely get more vegetables than fish. Good Poke place by Reston Town Center - great location right by the park. First time here, they were very helpful for new people. They had bowl and burrito options, brown and white rice. I got the white rice, various salad and fruit toppings. They put some directly in your container and some in a metal mixing bowl. Three sizes of containers - small and large in black color and medium in white color. I tried the medium, got the salmon and ahi tuna proteins, which is three scoops of about six choices total, and they were giving out first scoop of crab free. They had a lot of sauces to choose from, added to the metal mixing bowl and stirred well, then laid on top of the rice and other fixed items. I tried number three mix of several sauces and hot sauce, was good. Good presentation and good way to flavor all the toppings and helped keep the rice from getting soggy like at other Poke places. The restaurant had some tables and a bar along the window with stools. It was nice out, but I decided to eat it there and people watch from the stool, relaxing. New restaurant- a few recommendations- would like a recycling option for the plastic containers/plastic ware and the wooden chopsticks. Would like puffed dough crispy topping, they had sesame, crispy onion, and seaweed flakes. The music was a little fast paced and loud, would prefer a little more relaxed if not busy. I'm so happy there's a poke place closer to me! The next closest place to me that I know of is in Annandale, great place, but a little far to go to during the week. Pokehub is set up like a Chipotle or Cava except with Japanese style food. You pick your base, protein, toppings, & sauce. They have a variety of raw fish, cooked fish, chicken, egg & tofu for the protein. It looks like this place is vegan friendly, if you eat a vegan diet I recommend checking the menu before coming. I came here twice, the 1st time I got a medium rice bowl with tuna, salmon, shrimp, seaweed salad, cilantro, cucumber, crab meat, sesame seeds, ponzu sauce, and sesame shoyu sauce. The 2nd time I got a medium salad with romaine, salmon, tuna, scallops in mayo, cucumber, edamame, avocado, sesame seed, seaweed salad, crab meat, ponzu sauce and sesame shoyu sauce. I don't have any complaints about either option. A medium was enough food for me. I heard some people thought the small wasn't enough. I also saw some people complain about the scoop size for the protein. Last time I went there I saw a manager getting strict with an employee about the scoop size, so the small scoops must be a policy they have to follow. Favorite poke place in this area. It's in Reston town center, and the great news is parking is free after 5pm on weekdays and free for an hour during the day! So now I can grab some poke during lunch without running to beat the 15 minute timer before they ticket you! You can choose between a small and a large. I like to get the small because I'm a little paranoid about eating leftover poke in be case I don't finish it. In my bowl, I like to get ahi tuna and salmon with rice and spring mix, along with cucumbers, corn, onions, scallions and more. My favorite poke place was in DC but I'm not working downtown at the moment so I've been craving poke. This totally satisfied my craving. My only complaint is that there was too much sauce for my liking, but next time I'll ask for it on the side or order in person. This is a typical poke place. I didn't notice anything that makes it stand out from the others, but the food seemed fresh and the service was fast. We dined in and it was clean inside. So excited that a poke spot has opened up in the Reston area! Happened to be in the area and found this spot on Yelp. So food was ok but I'm only giving 3 stars because 1, they mixed up the sauces and gave me ponzu instead of Shoyu. I discovered this after I had already driven away, boo. 2, they were stingy with the mix-ins. I got a small bit of seaweed salad and I wasn't a fan of the diced up jalapeños. I'm used to it being sliced and I feel that the jalapeños being diced takes away from the taste. Even with the mix-ins not hitting the marks...the protein was plenty. I'm extremely disappointed in this restaurant, we ordered at 6:30 and came to pick up at 7:10. The order wasn't even ready yet and they haven't even started making the order. Bear in mind that this isn't the first time this has happened to us as well. Last of all they got our order wrong and mixed everything up. The whole point of ordering for delivery is to save on time but instead they have wasted my time. Perfect lunch option on a work day if you want something light and healthy. The fish quality is not the best, but for the price and location it provides good value. My coworkers and I go about once a week. So far the ingredients have always been fresh and I haven't heard of any complaints in my office. Perfect place to grab a healthy meal on a beautiful day without dealing with the crowds at all the other popular spots in RTC. You can grab a bowl and eat al fresco right across the street at the square! My bf and I both got a small bowl (choose 2 scoops of fish, but pretty much everything else is included, which we love! They were very generous with portions, too) and it was more than enough for each of us. Great price point, too! I think the quality/freshness of the fish could have been better, but it was good enough (didn't make me feel skeptical of eating it, if you know what I mean) and we both loved our bowls - they tasted fresh and had great flavors, which all mixed well together. I've been to PokeHub a few times and they have been consistently good. The only reason I took one star off the rating is that I find it a bit pricey. Base price for the small is $10.95 and you get 2 scoops of protein plus unlimited toppings... so after taxes and any extras you might end up paying between $12 to $14. A tad much for a lunch salad in my opinion... especially since I get the chicken. Other than that, I love it. All the staff is super friendly. Nice ambiance. Good portion, I'm always full after eating here. They provide free water infused with cucumber or lemon. They have a recycle trash bin, which is cool considering that everything is served on plastic containers. (I mention this because I went to another Poke establishment and they also serve everything in plastic container but they don't recycle... shame!). All in all, I'm a fan. I was disappointed in the small serving size of my vegan bowl and the oblivious, uniformed server who could not clarify which options were vegan friendly. He did not understand the term vegan and my desire to order a bowl without animal products. This poke bowl restaurant is the first that I feel has the best bang for your buck. You get an amazing assortment of fish with a pretty good amount of sides. Normally I only get a small bowl of fish and rice at other poke bowl places. This place is similar to Chipotle where you can pick the sides you want. You can pick unlimited sides and its amazing. There was this one sauce that an employee made I believe its chipotle teriyaki, somewhere along those lines and it's amazing. I highly recommend this sauce. I still can't believe how much food you get for that price where other places you barely get any fish. When you first enter, the board looks a bit intimidating with all the different options but, after a bit of second guessing, you'll find that it's pretty standard. The workers were friendly and helpful and I appreciate that they have a recommended list of sauces in chronological order. We ordered online and picked up for a work lunch. The website was a little bit difficult to navigate, but after opening through chrome, it worked much better. Food selection is excellent, and they do not charge for every single topping, so it was nice to be able to select several different types of fish on my poke bowl. Fish was incredibly fresh and a generous portion. I had the salmon, ahi tuna, and spicy tuna. All three absolutely delicious. We are already planning our next trip!
