I was in town looking for a sushi or poke place, and my waxing lady sent me here. I was in the mood for a sushi roll, so instead of a poke bowl I ordered a spicy Hawaiian roll and a seaweed salad. The roll was delicious...I will have to say the fish is FRESH. My seaweed salad was good, but a little too much in terms of flavor. I noticed this place was a hit. Moreso people ordering online and picking up. They actually are allowing some limited indoor seating which I took advantage of. I will definitely be back when I'm on town! read more

So delicious!!! Your typical "Build your own poke bowl" type of place that also has sushi and assorted other rice bowls. Got the regular rice bowl ($10.50 for 3 proteins) and CA roll (about$5). You build your own bowl and choose base, proteins, toppings, and sauces. What really stood or with this place was the variety of toppings/sauces/sides that came included and portion sizes, as well as the freshness of the fish. Our first time trying this place and first time for my kids to try poki . We weren't sure what are the process, even with the description we were a little confused.. maybe their mom , meaning me were s little slow that day lol! My son caught on quick and he led the way on how we should order. The lady behind the counter didn't really mention the process and how many choices we had to pick from for each base The gentle behind the counter was more helpful , he guide us through each category and how many choices we can choose from each for each layer.. I would definitely stop here again when we are in the area . They have a very good selections of vegetables and fish / seafood . Kids all liked their poki bowl choices. They always have fresh fish! The service is pretty quick and they do give out great customer service! It's my favorite go-to sushi/sashimi place I go to mostly! The seating areas are cool and space to walk isn't too crowded/narrow especially when you have an obnoxious boy with you! I definitely will go here again as well as people nearby should definitely check Poki & Maki out for sure! read more

My favorite poke spot! Super fresh fish, large portions, made to order. I usually preorder on yelp and food is always ready when I get there. They have even added additional toppings once I arrived, since I didn't see them online as an option. They told me to add additional toppings not listed to the special instructions of the order and they will add them. Super friendly, highly recommend their poke bowls and avocado special. read more

Charged me extra AFTER I placed my order, for extra cucumber, and they did NOT even give extra cucumber. Lol what a joke your establishment is. FIRST, your poke is okay at best, and for the price it really is lackluster. Second, you provide a poor experience to your customers and poor customer service leads to a poor rating. Last time we ever order from here. Plenty of poke places around and your poke is not that good compared to places we had. read more

This place is near and dear to my heart. I found it when I moved to Upland in 2019 and would go nearly everyday to the point I wouldn't be surprised if the staff recognized me. The large succulent chunks of fresh fish lying beautifully on their delicious always fresh rice at a price NO OTHER PLACE has ever been able to beat and their quick and friendly staff is what kept me coming back over and over again. The size of the fish and how amazingly fresh it is makes it truly shocking that you aren't paying an arm and a leg. I've been to places in LA that want $25 for a bowl with only 2 scoops of fish and the sizes are pitiful. I sadly moved out of state but every time I visit family this place is the first one on my mind. I would legitimately be devastated if this place ever closes down. Bonus points for being patient with my dad who's older and unfamiliar with poke. Whoever owns this fine establishment is doing an EXCELLENT job. This place is always been my go to for my poke bowl. But now im so dissapointed with their reward system, ive been here so many times, and and now they kept saying the system for rewards is broken, and its been like a while its still broken. Always good for a quick bite to eat! Poki and Maki is small and mostly a to-go place, although they have some seating inside. They have poke bowls, baked rice bowls, cut rolls, and sushi pieces on the menu! Service is quick and is build-your-own style but you can call ahead for rolls and orders other than poke bowls. I always go for the Poke Bowls as the fish is fresh, and portions are larger compared to other poke places in the area. I have also tried the baked baby lobster roll, spicy salmon cut roll, and baked rice bowls. All have been generous in portion and yum. Their house ponzu sauce is great too! read more

Awesome Poki. Found this place on the way home from the 10 freeway. Got the large, which was 14 including tax. Big portions, fish was fresh, great selection (have mango and pineapple!) Soooooo good for the price!!!!!! I actually work at a poki spot & I critique others harsh, but this spot is definitely my new favorite! The pico de gallo makes the bowl 10000xs better the staff isn't stingy but they also don't give you too much to where u feel disgusted looking at too much food. I've been coming her since February and not once have I been charge for extra white rice and today all of a sudden I'm charge for extra white rice. I ask the lady with blonde hair why am I being charge? She says "the manager just said we have to charge for extra white rice" then again there's not one sign or any info before u order about extra charge for a main base. It's like there trying to get extra money but doesn't make sense. I've dealt with every employee here and this lady with blonde hair always has attitude when I come in. Makes me not even want to eat there anymore base on there customer service. Hopefully they improve there staff. Food is good. Service is horrible. (By certain employees) read more

1st time here! My husband and I were in the Upland area and found this place on YELP. We both ordered Poke Bowls, I got 3 proteins, Albacore, Spicy Tuna and Spicy Scallops. Fish quality is always pretty good, especially compared to the poke places nearby in the Claremont area. The portions are quite generous - get a regular instead of a large unless you're ready for some food coma or sharing. read more

The BF and I have been here several times and we both enjoy what we've gotten so far. He's gotten the baked lobster each time we've been. The first time we checked out the place, I got their poki and maki special poke bowl and I thought it was fine. It didn't blow my mind but the 2nd time we went around I got the baked lobster rice bowl along with the BF and thought it was amazing! I definitely want to try their other rice bowls. I think at times, depending who's working that day customers will get smaller portions than what is normal so it doesn't hurt to ask for a little more of protein when you think you're being shortchanged. For the most part, I've had a pleasant experience when I've ordered food here and taken it to go. We will definitely be back especially since I'm curious about their gyudon rice bowl. read more

They ruined my sons bowl with a ridiculous amount of spicy mayo. She even asked him if he wanted more! Unfortunately I didn't see it until we got home as we selected takeout. I had the avocado poke bowl which was edible but again the portions were off. I dont really want a full cup of ginger and probably need more than 5 sprouts. Never going back here. read more

Confused and hungry we staggered in. Luckily the kind gentleman tending the counter guided us through the magical poke process to provide a huge and delicious healthy lunch for the two of us. My salmon was fresh and tasty. His crab, salmon and tuna was, by his report, delicious. This poke place is excellent!! I went here for the first time today and had the best experience! The fish is absolutely fresh and the service was terrific! I got spicy salmon, salmon, shrimp, and spicy scallops! I also loved the fact that the spicy tuna was a topping and not an extra protein! With this I got corn, jalapenos, crab meat, cilantro, radish sprouts, cucumbers and the house hot special sauce, spicy mayo, and garlic ponzu and wasabi mixed in!! I loved the spicy level could have gone spicier! The rice was also perfectly cooked. Will definitely be coming back here again for my poke cravings. Wouldn't go back to this poke place... I ordered the salmon steak with all salad, it took over 15 mins to make and I was on lunch break. I get it they cooked it as I ordered it, but the guy up front should've told me how long it would take BEFORE I paid. But the WORST part is how SMALL the portion was!! The picture is comparing the chopsticks to the size of the salmon, it was 2 small pieces of salmon trying to make it seem like 1 actual steak of salmon for $11.95 plus tax!!! My husband got their poke and he was not happy about the fish how it wasn't fresh and the eel and mayo sauce was just squeezed on top instead of mixed in...TOO SALTY and he wasn't even given the option of mixing in... The pokey here is pretty good. I would say that they give you a pretty generous portion of the proteins and the flavors are really good. Everything is fresh and it's definitely a place I like to go to once in a while during lunch. I would highly recommend this place. read more

Firstly, they kept bringing the wrong orders to the wrong tables, sometimes fully leaving the order there, getting called over to be told it was wrong, & taking food that had already been left at a another customer's table to deliver it to the correct customer. I wouldn't mention it except that it happened 4+ times during the hour we were there & it's a food safety hazard. Second, they use far too much rice. I get that lots of rice is a way to fill customers up, but truly biting into the sushi was just biting into a mouthful of rice every time. You have to do rice surgery to get the ratio right, & they *will* come over & tell you to finish the rice to avoid charges. Expect to spend a lot of time begrudgingly eating/filling up on the mountains of rice. However - LOVE the miso soup. I'd return for rolls but likely not for regular sushi/AYCE.

Unfortunately, my last FOUR visits have been terrible, and today was the final straw. Today I brought four additional people with me because this was once a restaurant I loved and recommended. Instead, I was completely embarrassed by how we were treated. Joyce tossed/threw straws at our table, brought out Dr Peppers and waters, and immediately told us that "the rules" were that we couldn't share sodas. Nobody said we were sharing sodas. The assumption, attitude, and way she spoke to us were completely unnecessary. The situation became so uncomfortable and humiliating that our entire group got up and walked out without eating. What bothers me most is that I have continued giving this restaurant chances because I've been a loyal customer for so many years. After four bad experiences, I'm done. You don't treat longtime paying customers this way--especially customers who have supported your business consistently for 5+ years and are bringing NEW customers through your doors. I never thought I would be leaving this review for a restaurant my family used to love, but the service and treatment under the current management have completely changed our opinion of this place. We will not be returning.

I am a massive poke fan and have tried countless spots, but this place is hands-down the best. I've ordered from them 15 to 20 times now, and they hit my dietary and happiness needs every single time. Everything from the fresh fish to the toppings and sauces is incredible. What sets them apart is how clean and straightforward everything is--every topping is fresh, and every sauce tastes exactly as named. The portions are perfect and the pricing is excellent. A huge callout goes to their greens. Most places just dump salad dressing or heavy sauce right on top, but this place finally gets it right--every single piece of lettuce is coated perfectly, like the sauce actually hugs the greens. The lettuce is freakishly, beautifully crisp (never wilted or sad), which is amazing since I like getting a salad base to pair with my own homemade sushi rice. There are two changes that I think could bring TK up to 5 star range. One would be more consistent service. They have some really great servers, like Chris and Lauren (some others as well, in the past whose names I will get in the future), but it is somewhat common to get forgotten for 20min during a change of service or because they are understaffed, which is difficult when you are ordering in rounds rather than all at once. And second, it would be so amazing if they would have 1 night a week (maybe a Sunday or Monday) reserved for relaxing music; really anything from Standards, Jazz, Japanese, Classic Rock, Trip Hop....anything mellow. We would go on that night every time! (And I've heard other people express the same wish.) It is not uncommon here to end up eating to super loud, raucous, music that makes me feel like I should be in a mosh pit rather than a dining room. It makes both conversation and relaxation difficult. I have nothing against rage against the machine, but I prefer not to rage while I'm eating.
