I like this spot because the sushi is fresh but for me it's not like "wow!". It's fresh and thats what makes this restaurant reputable. Suchhh a good poke spot. I wanted something light and healthy for the gym so this was such a great pick. I got the regular poke bowl with: 1/2 salad+ 1/2 rice, salmon, tuna, spicy tuna, ginger, cucumber, edamame, crab, spring radish, seaweed flakes, crunchy onion, eel sauce, garlic ponzu, and miso sauce. BOMB. The guy making my order was super friendly and got everything done super quick. I haven't had good poki in the IE in a while so on my way home from West Covina, I went on yelp to see what I can find and Poki & Maki came up! I did thing it was a bit pricey but I figured it would be that anywhere we go. I ordered two regular bowls which come with 3 proteins. They do hefty scoops of the proteins and rice which is why the price makes sense. Next time I would maybe try the small since I did have some left over! Parking is easy as they have a shared private lot in a medium-sized plaza. Noise level is mild, but could be moderate if they're busier. The poke is great! They have a good amount of protein and topping options, and everything looks and tastes fresh. The protein is all tasty; though, the spicy salmon is not spicy at all. They aren't overly generous with portions, but even a small bowl's overall serving size is satisfying. Pre-made poke bowls, rice bowls, and sushi rolls are available. Came here on a Thursday around 5pm. Parking was not an issue. I was able to park right in front. There was no one in the restaurant other than staff. CONS: - Tuna tasted like copper, even when covered in sauce - They forgot my extra side of sauce -it was expensive -no unique combinations of fish in sauce, basic fish options -tofu was extremely soggy and fell apart when picked up with chopstick -employees were confusing at the station, some didnt speak and just stared at you. It was awkward PROS: -Portion Since my tuna had a bad taste to it, I unfortunately did not eat a 15$ bowl. I barely ate any of it, the tuna ruined the experience of the entire meal. There were also piece of the rice and other fish that tasted like copper from the juices of the tuna. This poke place is not doing anything extraordinary, and it was rather expensive for a mediocre experience. I would not come back and recommend you try another place despite the reviews! There were a lot of options for proteins as well as sides and toppings. Due to dining restrictions, and cravings, I had to try their bowls based on the reviews here on Yelp. It may come off expensive at first but I am not compromising this time. Lo and behold. The price justifies the quality and freshness of the proteins (spicy tuna, spicy Salmon, tuna and salmon) and the 8 veggies that I chose. Even the avocado (extra $1.50) is fresh with no black spots or bruises. I specifically asked my sauces to be on the side so my all salad base don't get soggy from picking up to back home. Picking up was a breeze. In and out in 5 seconds. Parking isn't a problem either. This ended up worth driving the extra mile from where I usually get my poke bowl fix. Thanks guys! Love this place. Husband and I probably go about 2-3x a month. Always a good deal on fresh poke. Customer service is fine. Only thing is I always see a black Toyota parked in the front and there's a guy in the backseat. The car is running. It just gives me weird vibes so I'm always careful walking away from that car. Stopped by since I was craving some sushi. It looks like people are mainly doing takeout, but they did have a couple of tables open for dining. The stream of customers was steady. No one was dining in though. I only tried the rolls, so I can't comment on the poke. The sushi is okay, but nothing blew my mind. My least favorite was the spicy scallop roll. I wish they would have used spicy mayo instead of what looked like mainly sriracha. The albacore garlic and Philly rolls were good enough - fresh but again, did not blow my mind. Service was fine but nothing noteworthy. Anyway, I'm interested in seeing how their poke compares, so I'd come back to try that.
