Rock star customer service!!! The sweet employee was welcoming and very generous on my scoops of everything I wanted. It's refreshing to see businesses not skimp! Pros Super clean! Everything seemed very fresh. Good selection of fish. Bathrooms and restaurant are SPOTLESS. Employees were thoughtful and polite. Nice overall experience. Cons: Feels a bit sterile. Kind of like a cafeteria. Lacks atmosphere vibe. Like artwork on wall etc. It feels like a chain restaurant and basically lacks uniqueness. And for those who do not like seafood, beware that tofu is the only alternative option (which is fine for a poke place, but the last poke bowl restaurant I went to included teriyaki chicken alternative. So for myself I would've love to see chicken on the menu also. I would return again while traveling through this area if my husband was in the mood for poke. But I would not personally pay $16-$18 for a bowl with tofu (since I'm not a poke fan). read more

If this review was based on previous visits it would have five stars but after our strange experience I'm giving out 2. I bring my 11 year old son here often enough to know what to expect in terms of portion, quality of service and courtesy. I never order for myself, only for my son. He likes a simple bowl with sushi rice, ahi tuna, salmon and green onions. It's a very simple request that had never yielded poor portions. He is always content with his meal. Today the portion seemed off, less than usual, but moreover what left a bad taste in my mouth was the actions of the two young men behind the counter. They kept speaking under their breath, snickering and then glancing over at me. It made me feel very uncomfortable. I don't come into a restaurant to be made fun of, I want a pleasant and polite experience. I expect more from this establishment. read more

A bit pricey and the food was just alright but the main reason for this mediocre review is the customer service. The place was empty when we came in and the two kids at the front looked at us and ignored us. One of them actually walked to the back to avoid helping us. After we made our purchase a caucasian couple walked in and it's like a switch went off. They both shouted words of welcome and tried to be helpful. read more

As a huge poke fan Iv eaten at a lot of different places. When the wife told me that a poke place was coming I was ecstatic. After having one "reg" bowl and one "large" bowl for dinner today I have to sigh. It felt wrong as I looked at the foods and it was. The scooper for the protein's and side is an absolute joke lol . The scooper was literally so small the poor guy had to abuse the fish to get more than two tiny squares in it. Then we moved to sauce. Three options not,mild,spicy? WTH ‍. Next toppings. I absolutely love massago but they dish it on like it's beluga caviar . I'm glad I gave it a try but sad to see yet another bandwagon poke shop who over charges but grossly under delivers . Poki is a great experience! When I first tried it a few years ago I was hesitant as I am not a huge sushi eater. Poki is a completely different experience and I truly loved it. Then I went to Poki Bowl in Gilroy and my experience was stepped up a couple of notches!! The food is so fresh, you can customize the bowl in so many ways. They even have teriaki chicken for those just not interested in raw fish. For the truly adventurous, you can try the Spam over rice wrapped in seaweed!! I highly recommend the Gilroy Poki Bowl. You will be so pleased that this quality of food is available in South County. If you love Sushi or Poki you will be very pleased, if you have never tried Poki - you will be blown away!! read more

I've ordered about 20 bowls from here over the last few weeks. Very consistent quality wise and always delicious. Sometimes (not often in my experience) portions are a little bit wonky but I honestly think if you just asked the staff to fix something, they would. They all seem really nice. It is pretty much the only thing I can tolerate eating right now (I'm pregnant) and I'm so glad it is available- we needed this in Gilroy. The establishment is very clean, smells clean, and makes me personally feel confident that the food is prepared in a clean environment. The owner seems very nice as well. I messed up and kept ordering in advance as a guest through their order ahead platform. I didn't realize I could be earning a free bowl if I was signed in to my account, so I just didn't scroll around and figure out how to sign in each time. The owner was super nice and gave me credit for the bowls I had purchased. He could have easily said "hey better luck next time!" But he took time out of his day to fix my mess up so that I could earn a free poki bowl and to me that shows excellent customer service. I would definitely recommend and I will definitely be returning (probably tonight! LOL!) read more

I had high hopes since this is a chain. I frequent the Morgan Hill location, and was excited to have the option of poki in town. However, there's no way I'll go back to this location. The bowl I get at the Morgan Hill location is probably 3x the size as the one I got in Gilroy. The scoop sizes are very small. And, I can tell the ingredients used aren't as good quality as Morgan Hill. Super disappointed, but now I know I'll need to stick with Morgan Hill if I want good quality poki. read more
