Best Poke Place. I am from San Gabriel, Came to Corona to pick up our dogs from the dog sitter and decided to eat something healthy. Came across this place and gave it a try. This place is normally amazing IF you don't get a new person. Every time they have a new person, and is often, the portions are tiny and the bowls end up tasting bland. Today we got a new kid and we kept having to ask for extra of everything. It got to a point where we almost asked to wait for one of the regular employees but didn't (big mistake on our end). When we got to the sauces this guy was basically adding drops. My bowl tasted bland, I might as well be eating cardboard. read more

Best Poki bowls hands down! Fish is always fresh. I love the albacore! They have fun poki burritos too. I've tried everything on the menu here and have not been disappointed. Love that they have my favorite shrimp chips to buy at checkout as well. Huge bonus, the place is always clean. Everyone is always helpful and pleasant when we are there. This was my first time trying out Poki Cafe. I heard about this place from my friend because it is her go to poke spot. When we walked in we were instantly greeted by one of the employees. The inside is cute and small. Due to covid they have the restaurant shut down for indoor dining so you order your poke bowl on a organized laminated menu with dry erase markers and give it to the employee when your finished. You pay at the counter and our order was completed shortly afterwards and we were on our way. I ordered their large poke bowl that comes with your bowls base, 3 scoops of protein, up to 5 sauces, mix ins & sides. My order consisted of white rice, salmon, Yuzu ponzu (zesty citrus soy) sauce, Sweet Eel (thicker teriyaki than sauce), Spicy mayo sauce, Cucumber slices, Crab meat, Pineapple, Edamame, & Avocado topped with furikaki (seewead sesame mix). I was happy with their hefty portion sizes in addition to, everything tasting so delicious and fresh. The only thing that could use some room for improvement was the 3 slices for avocado for +$1.00 extra surcharge. Other than that, I would highly reccomend this place if your craving poke! read more

Stopped by because we were craving something fresh on a warm day. This restaurant is located in the Dos Lagos area. Service was quick and easy. Not sure if I would be back after today's experience. Quality and freshness are key for me with any poke place because who wants to get sick from eating raw fish? Certainly not me. I have given Poki Cafe a couple of chances pre-COVID. They now have a redesigned process for ordering, which helps limit exposure. Instead of telling them what you want in your bowl like before, you make your markings on a paper and they make the bowl for you. Prices have gone up and quality seems to have gone down. I opted for the regular bowl on this visit, which comes with two scoops of protein. I got sushi rice for my base and all salmon for protein, along with five sauces (includes up to 5). The sushi rice did not taste like sushi rice at all. It was very plain tasting and lumpy, but worst of all, the rice was still steaming hot by the time I got home. I really dislike it when the rice is hot enough to leave be fish tasting lukewarm. Also, they load so much rice into the bowl, making it seem as though there are lots of protein and toppings until you realize there really isn't. The salmon looked dark in color and definitely did not taste fresh. There was a fishy bitter taste and I ended up tossing the whole bowl. You may wonder if choosing five sauces might seem overpowering, but my bowl did not look like there was much sauce or flavor on the fish or rice. Poke bowls here are pretty pricey at $10.95 for two scoops of protein and $12.95 for three scoops. I expected better quality for the price and would not mind paying a higher price for better quality and freshness. Staff were welcoming and service was okay. The main downside was the quality of the protein (salmon) and overly hot rice sitting below the protein and toppings. Wish they would let the rice cool down before packing them into the bowls to ensure that temperature of the fish stays cool and fresh instead of fishy and brown in color. read more

I had a Sweet Mess & it was so gooood! They have Hot Mess on the board and I asked for it all not spicy. Keep the Cheetos on top. Added watchma call it sauce from the next one down add pineapple. We stopped by this poki joint after a long day of craving poke. They have a decently sized menu of beverages & poke options. You fill out what you want on a card with a dry erase marker and you give it to them to make. I was a little annoyed that I couldn't watch them make my poke bowl because it was missing a few things that I did mark on the card so not sure if they just didn't see it or it wiped off. I really did enjoy the food and so did my husband. No complaints there. It seems to be pretty reasonably priced for a poke place. The bowls do seem a little small sized to me compared to a few other poke joints that I have been to but I do understand that different places will provide different sizes. We ended up spending $68 after buying two poke bowls, two drinks & two hand rolls (even though they didn't give me the second hand roll I ordered). Of course when I got home it was too late so I just let it go... Definitely check your bags and make sure you have everything in your order! Not sure if it was just a hiccup this one time or what. I will be returning. Overall, great poke joint! read more

My husband and I found this place just looking around for food on the way back home from running errands. Too bad he was not in the mood for fish tonight. I ordered my Poke bowl over brown rice and it was fresh and delicious. Staff was great. service was fast. The gentleman at the counter was very nice and helpful. They've restructured their cafe since Covid-19 (it seems) and ordering system is different but it's simple. Just mark items that you like on the card and they'll make it for you. Service was fast. If you're searching for a good poke bowl, keep looking. This is NOT your place. After reading all the 4- Star YELP reviews, I anxiously headed over there for a poke bowl. Big mistake, this place is DISGUSTING. I paid over $18 for MUSH. I should have known the minute I walked in. The place seemed dark, uninviting, and no other customers were to be seen. The guy behind the counter barely greeted me. I paid over $18 for a small 3- protein bowl. As I watched my bowl being prepared, I couldn't believe the guy put one thin layer of lettuce in the bowl (no more than 7-8 pieces). I even said, "Are you sure that's enough?" No response. I then asked to exchange one of the proteins with another scoop of crab, which is already included and costs less. He wasn't having it. I should have walked out then. The communication was almost non-existent. I ended up throwing 3/4 of my bowl away. I really tried to like it, but it was flavorless, on the warm side, salty, and worst of all, the ingredients were NOT fresh. DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE. The owner obviously doesn't care about quality ingredients. I feel SO ripped off, and if the owner reads this review, I challenge and welcome you to compensate me for my unacceptable experience. I will be waiting to hear from you??? read more

About 2-3yrs ago, I came here and I vowed that I would never come back here again. At that time i think I ordered a large poke bowl, and they gave me about 3 cubes of rubbery salmon on top of crusty old rice, and charged me a lot of money for it. But I decided to give this place a second chance today, and maaan, they redeemed themselves big time this was Darth Vader restoring balance to the force level of redemption. This time around the fish was fresh, the vegetables fresh, rice perfect, and the portion size huge. One of the best poke places in corona, if not the best. Definitely would come back again read more

I came in for the first time today after the Barbie movie with a big group of friends. The boys working were super nice, polite and welcoming with everyone. Although it was only them two working, they were working very quickly and efficiently despite consistently having a line. The food was very fresh and very good for a Poki restaurant. Easily the best poke place I've been to! And I eat sushi/poke on the regular. Fresh, delicious and big pieces of tuna and shrimp- the good kind! Not the skimpy or the bad cuts of tuna. I'm impressed! The people are friendly and they seem to be enforcing covid safety protocols, which I appreciate. I ordered 3 coffees and was asked to wait outside for them. No problem at all. The problem is that I was waiting for 22 minutes total. I went inside after 10 minutes and was told "We had to make it fresh." If that's the case, at least give customers that information up front. And 22 minutes!? It doesn't take 20 minutes to make black drip coffee! It should take 5. And the coffee is terrible, too. I paid $12 and waited over 20 minutes for bad black coffee. EDIT IN RESPONSE TO OWNER REPLY: Really? You're going to blame Starbucks coffee? Why don't you focus on making me wait for 22 minutes instead of what brand you bought. It's not Starbucks fault that I waited, that your employees gave me no warning that it would take almost a half hour for coffee, or that your coffee had ground and other specks in it. That's your employees fault and your own. Good luck. read more

It's always nice to have a good Poki spot in your area. This place has quick service and a lot of options to choose from. The downside to it all is when you get to the register to see the pricing. Everything seem's a bit to high than what I would like to spend, but the food is good so it's somewhat acceptable. The staff here does appear to work really hard to ensure quality food and that is a huge plus for this business. read more

Yum! This has become our new go-to spot after our previous place changed their recipe and it didn't seem to taste right anymore. We have ordered online several times, the only suggestion I would make to the store is *please* be sure to read the orders a little closer - a couple times we have ordered regular salmon, and got spicy salmon.. or asked for one sauce and got another. Not a huge deal breaker as the food is so good, but when you can't tolerate super spicy foods, it kinda kills the vibe. The fan favorites are marked with a red flower, which helped narrow things down. We also asked our server for suggestions, which made it easier to navigate. We arrived just before 5pm and there was only one other table. We were told to sit anywhere we'd like. By the time we left, the restaurant was filling up and it seemed like there were quite a few regulars coming in. Here's what we tried: Salted edamame: Just average. A bit limp and not as crisp as I'm used to, so they didn't feel especially fresh. Gyoza: Really nice flavor and the dipping sauce was well balanced. These were solid. Yellowtail jalapeño sashimi: This was different in a good way. It had cilantro and a slightly sweeter sauce instead of the traditional garlic ponzu. Unexpected, but a pleasant surprise. One small detail for fellow tea lovers: I always look forward to hot tea at a Japanese restaurant, especially when it's served in a small pot you can refill at the table. Here it was hot water with a tea bag in a metal cup, which was too hot to comfortably hold, and there was no teapot provided. Not a deal breaker, but next time I'd probably skip the tea. Service was strong. In addition to our main server, two other team members checked in and refilled water regularly, which we appreciated. Overall, I'd call it a 3.5 if that were an option, so I'm landing at 3 stars. The food was decent, the atmosphere comfortable, and the service attentive.
