Yay, a Poki place nearby. Good portions and reasonable pricing but you definitely have to be in the mood for a poki bowl to be full. I was also slightly confused with the ordering process in the beginning but now that I've been once, I think I'm a veteran. I think they should maybe step up their game and let you try the sauces or be a little more helpful in explaining for first-time customers but other than that, good experience. read more

Honestly my favorite poke place!! The salmon, spicy salmon and albacore were nothing short of sensational! I prefer their brown rice over white rice but, it is just personal preference. This has become a regular lunch spot for me. read more

Food is always fresh and delicious. Portions are fair for the price. I've always been satisfied with the service until today. May 23 2pm Female worker with long Blk ponytail was not pleasant. It was my sisters first time here so she had a few question. When she asked about the sauces instead of explaining the flavors the server just said 'step 4'. Ummm ok yeah we see they are listed but what do they taste like, what is popular etc. act like you want to be there. She was short to respond to questions and rude. My sister didn't know salad was an option and wanted to add it after. She didn't want to add it! Like really wow... I had to step in and say yes she could have the salad it's step 1.... Lastly we wanted water and there were no water cups out.... So when we asked for a water cup she said 'we don't have anymore' and walked away.. Excuse me I said ... Can we have a soda cup then? She looked at her co-worker and rolled her eyes... I'll still go back but I'll avoid coming at this time bc that young lady was rude... If she isn't happy with her job I'm sure some other person would be more than happy to work in her place. read more

Not many choices in Brea when it comes to food unless you decide to hit the mall. With only 30 minutes for lunch and only just down the street where I work at I need something quick. My favorite poki shop so far! I love the fact that parking is a breeze. The other Anaheim competitor by the Civic Center is a parking nightmare. Poki Monster is busy enough to have quick turn over of ingredients, but no huge lines out the door like the other place. I also love the fact that they wear those cool face masks with shields to help protect the food they are serving. They have all the usual condiment and fish choices, with perhaps a few additional like cilantro, pineapple, and tomatoes. Prices are comparable, and portions are generous. What's not to love? Oh, I know. I can't go get a bowl to eat during the football game because they are closed on Sunday. I really wish they were open all weekend. read more

The food here is great for the price it gives a good amount and the they have items that aren't on the menu as well you just have to make sure to ask. I would have given this place a 4 star but given the fact that I found a little something hard in the avocado possibly a pice of the avocado skin or under cocked rice which left a weird taste/felling in my mouth, I will give this place a second chance and revise my review accordingly. read more

I will start by saying this WAS my favorite poke place in North Orange County. Tonight's experience left me thinking I need to find a new Poke place in town. The hubby and I came in around 8:10 tonight. Place was dead other than one couple already eating dinner. We get greeted by a young gal and begin the bowl building. We ask for lettuce instead of rice and she is low on lettuce in the bowl in the serving area. She begins to shake the lettuce onto the bowls to make it appear like it is more than it really is, literally fluffing it...red flag number one. Of course she runs out and has to (heaven forbid) go in the back to get more. Since she had to do this she is now adding the regular amount of lettuce to both bowls. Now on to condiments, I have never seen someone literally shaking the tongs to make sure we don't get any extra cilantro, edamame, pineapple. Super small portions, normally this place is pretty generous...red flag number two. The rest of the bowl building goes as planned and we proceed to check out. She begins to place lids on the food and we say it's not needed as we are eating here. She replies, "we close at 8:30." Ok, we have 20 minutes. We continue to eat and at 8:29 she comes to our table and says, "we close in one minute." We have two bites left, maybe we need 3 minutes at most. No lie she turns the lights off in dining room. WTF?! You have to be kidding me?? We didn't finish the last bites and walked out to the glow of the Brea city street lights. Forget this place! I can go elsewhere and be treated better. read more

I was initially super stoked for a poke restaurant opening close to us but this didn't come close to Pokinometry. The flavor was just not there. My wife thought the fish wasn't as fresh tasting and another commented that they don't mix the sauce like Pokinometry. read more

Alright so this is my third time coming and I probably won't be back. I was jonesing for my poke fix so I decided to come to poki monster. There was only one person working and I had to wait while they were helping another indecisive customer. I waited patiently until it was my turn. Well it's my turn and ordered salad bowl and got the slim picking of the end of the salad she could of gotten more but nope. Then next ordering my meats. Is it me or did the scooper get smaller it was only a couple of pieces well ok I guess I dnt need to eat so much lol. But how you going to charge extra for the avocado when everyone else offers it as the standard. Yup that'll be my last visit. read more

very disappointing! They are now charging a dollar extra for a scoop of avocado! this is a standard item that has always been a part of the toppings without extra charge. There are so many other places around here that do not charge extra for avocado so I am not sure if I will be coming back for this reason. So sad. I guess it is because of a real and legit avocado shortage. read more

Came back twice this week and what a change in things -some for the better while still some areas need improvement. Kudos for finally mixing the fish in a separate bowl with ponzu sauce before putting it in the bowl. The portion of things are still not consistent. On one visit, good above average amount of rice (which was appreciated) and the next visit it was like they were being stingy with their rice and toppings. Food is still delicious none the less. I appreciate the constant quality control of cleanliness. The girls working there could be a bit more friendly and smile - even if it's a fake one. Don't forget the loyalty punch card! read more

Bit overpriced but you can get a lot of food in their big bowl. Good quality additions and toppings, the poke itself was flavorful. However I wish they put their sauce in before giving it to you, felt a bit messy to scoop that creaminess onto the bowl yourself. read more

What a great deal! So much fish for a reasonable price. My fiancé and I shared a large poki bowl and were quite full at the end. Got brown rice and salad for the base picked a variety of fish and added a couple toppings (they have a bunch!). For the small bowl you can choose 3 fish ($8.95) and for the large you can choose 5 ($11.95). You basically get to build the bowl the way you like. I think they just went a little over board on the spicy mayo so the fish kinda gets lost in the sauce. You can also ask for wasabi on the side too. read more

I rarely ever write reviews, but I tried this place for the first time and it was so disappointing. The taste was nothing exciting. This place is not one of the bests. Their fish definitely did not seem fresh, and after eating I got food poisoning later that day. And it's still going. Definitely do not recommend this place. This place was OK. Pokenometry in Anaheim & Uroko by South Coast Plaza are better. The sauce wasn't that flavorful & they were very stingy with the rice. The other places mix their toppings (onions, cucumbers) with the fish which I think gives a better flavor. When mixing the sauce with the fish, the girl used the same gloved hand for 3 different bowls. Both other places I've been to always changes gloves per bowl. Price here is comparable to the other places but I didn't feel that satisfied after eating here. read more

Came here a few times to make sure I didn't come on a particularly bad or good day. i have tried all the proteins with avocado, red onion, ponzu sauce, and brown rice. Service is relatively fast and speedy. Protein portions seems to on the light side even with a large bowl and freshness was decent I suppose. The brown rice was the worst part of the meal being stale and a bit dry even with sauces. I had to really mix in the wasabi and ponzu to make it edible. Overall its not a bad place to get poki, but I still think pokinometry is best with their huge portions and better rice. read more

I've been here a couple times and honestly I've gotten good poke. It's done like chipotle style where you can choose rice or salad, 3 or 5 of the items, all the side options and then sauces. The last time I was here they were not tight with their poke, they gave me a good amount of each. Thank you! read more

Decent poke with a great selection of sides. I particularly like that the fish is not marinated so that you can add what you like. I wish they had tamari or a gluten free soy sauce as an option. I kept comparing it to the poke bowl at Ola Hawaiian BBQ in Fullerton, and I have to say that I prefer Ola. The flavors are great but Poki Monster's fish portions are small. read more

So I've been curious about all these new poke places that are springing up everywhere and I felt like I was getting left out by not trying it. Unfortunately, there are none around where I live. So I happened to be in the area and starving and checked yelp for the nearest poke bowl place. Poke monster happened to be around the corner. The place was clean, orderly, and structured. The order layout was chipotle styled. Step 1 choose your size bowl: regular or large. If you choose regular, you get 3 different selections of fish. If U choose large, u will get 5. Step 2 choose your toppings. There are lots of toppings to choose from and u can choose as many as u want & that's cool. Step 3 is choose your protein (fish), I chose spicy tuna, tuna & albacore. They looked pretty fresh and were cold which means they were refrigerated. Step 4 is choose your sauce. Ponzu, spicy mayo, volcano #1,2,3 - all in order of spicy level. I chose spicy mayo, which was Bomb! I had the same experience that other yelpers had when it came to the workers. The female worker seemed a little annoyed or frustrated but she was nice enough to recommend what sauce I should use since it was my 1st time. I don't know what made her standoffish, I hope it wasn't me, bcuz I didn't do anything. But she quickly passed me over to the other worker to finish my order. Other than that little awkwardness, the food was Bomb! Tasted fresh and light. It satiated my taste buds. The portions they served were good sized, the toppings were excellent and you can choose as many as you want, which is definitely a plus. read more
