I have come here a lot in the past. Its a decent poki place although it's always been a bit more pricey than other spots. I went in today and they have begun charging an extra $1 for a scoop of avocado. I figure even the biggest scoop is maybe 1/4 of the whole avocado, and when you can buy a large avocado for $1.50, the extra charge is quite a markup. Since this place was already at the high end of what I like to spend, I'll explore some of the other poki joints next time. read more

I for one love assembly-line Poki ... I know it is not traditional but it is so good to have it your own way. I work in breath and have been driving down to Anaheim for Pokinometry. I do love that place but it's a little bit of a stretch to drive down there find parking and then wait in line for a half hour to get a bowl. So I've been curious about all these new poke places that are springing up everywhere and I felt like I was getting left out by not trying it. Unfortunately, there are none around where I live. So I happened to be in the area and starving and checked yelp for the nearest poke bowl place. Poke monster happened to be around the corner. The place was clean, orderly, and structured. The order layout was chipotle styled. Step 1 choose your size bowl: regular or large. If you choose regular, you get 3 different selections of fish. If U choose large, u will get 5. Step 2 choose your toppings. There are lots of toppings to choose from and u can choose as many as u want & that's cool. Step 3 is choose your protein (fish), I chose spicy tuna, tuna & albacore. They looked pretty fresh and were cold which means they were refrigerated. Step 4 is choose your sauce. Ponzu, spicy mayo, volcano #1,2,3 - all in order of spicy level. I chose spicy mayo, which was Bomb! I had the same experience that other yelpers had when it came to the workers. The female worker seemed a little annoyed or frustrated but she was nice enough to recommend what sauce I should use since it was my 1st time. I don't know what made her standoffish, I hope it wasn't me, bcuz I didn't do anything. But she quickly passed me over to the other worker to finish my order. Other than that little awkwardness, the food was Bomb! Tasted fresh and light. It satiated my taste buds. Very fresh and tasty poki bowls. Tried the tuna and spicy tuna with ponzu, spicy mayo and sesame oil. They offer a multitude of add-ins, ie, crab, avocado, edamame, corn, cucumber, etc. The staff was efficient and friendly. I think this place beats Pokinometry. Horrible horrible service !!! The short again girl is brain dead, after being told 3 times not to put crab in the bowl she still put crab in. She just laughed about it. It's like a bunch of kids are working here. They had a line almost out the door and they were still playing around and speaking a different language laughing. They sayid they open at 10 on website but when I went there they said they open at 11 so I had to go back. I found this to be extremely disappointing because I was looking to start my day off with a nice fresh bowl of Poké before I went to school. After the disappointment I came back during the night after my classes were over to get a tuna poké bowl. The service seemed like they were slightly annoyed and did not want to be bothered. Also the portions seemed a little small and stingy compared to other places. I am paying $13 for a large so I am expecting both quantity and quality. Nice little place if you want to grab a quick bite to eat and looking for something healthy. They don't have the biggest selection of fish, but quality isn't bad. I wouldn't say they have the freshest fish, but there isn't any fishy after taste. I've brought a few friends there and they all enjoyed their bowls. You can customize your bowls to however you want through various toppings, proteins, sauces, and sides. The only limiting factor to me is the selection of poke. They usually have salmon, tuna, spicy tuna, albacore, and shrimp. Overall, good food for a decent price. A large bowl will run you close to $13 after tax. I've been to many poke places and this place is pretty good. The inside is well kept, the employees are hit and miss. Sometimes you get the ones that are friendly and sometimes you get the ones that seem they are hating life. The ingredients are pretty good the fish has always seemed fresh. The location is not so great, I can't count the times that I have wanted poke and had to leave because I could not find parking because of the other businesses. So we decided to try anooooother poke place. We've heard nothing but good things so we ventured after getting our swell on and tried this place. Customer service nice and we got our food quick. I enjoyed it but I did find that just a few pieces of fish were not fresh and that my tuna was had one huge piece. Like they tried to cut it but got a phone call half way into cutting it up and just threw it in the bowl. Loved all the sauces and toppings. I like food and this place had good food.
