Another day, another poké food joint. This one had a pretty good bowl with spicy tuna, salmon, and shrimp in it. It was super satisfying and fairly spicy, something most poké spots don't ever get to. I normally don't get mayo in my bowls, but this wasn't too bad and had a nice kick to it. The service was okay. The server behind the counter was very helpful and generous with the portions. He also stepped through every option, giving useful suggestions as to what to add next. He was also very adept at making small talk that sounded like he was interested. The only caveat was he disappeared after taking and making my order. This was possibly due to being the only worker in the shop. But it was also very jarring to have not a single soul looking after the dining room or front counter. This was even more noticeable because the spot was barren as far as customers go. There were no pick-up or take-out orders ready to go. There were no dine-in customers other than me. It was super eerie, like I was eating in a ghost town or waking up in the Walking Dead world. It did allow me enough quiet to read my book after, which was nice. But it's very unsettling to be eating alone alone for 75% of the meal without even employees in eyesight. All in all, the food was good but I wish it was a bit more popular so I don't feel like the first guest to a party the whole time. read more

Been going here since it was Oke Poke, both here and the one in Chino Hills (but the CH one is gone now). Standard poke bowl place. Sometimes a few people inside. Plenty of parking outside. Honestly the whole experience really depends on who is making your bowl. Generally its been fine. Sometimes its been an employee who doesn't seem too invested but then heaps on the toppings which is a cool surpise. Theres been one employee who really just sucks the joy out of getting a poke bowl bc they just stand there and go "uh, what did you want?" but if i pull up and hes working i just go somewhere else. It feels and looks unkept now. Communal soy sauce bottles were so gross. The pre-packed wasabi was old and browning because the employee took one look and threw it out before handing me a new one. Their "efficiency" is not out weighing the actual quality. Pre-cut avocado slices look days old because of how browned they are. Employee also had to flip a few over to find one she felt good giving me. Pre-packed salad in bowls, not sure how long those have been there either now. The side walls where the fish goes look crusty, and bean sprouts are yellow. I don't feel comfortable eating the food here anymore. I used to Come here when it Was Oke poke and it was delicious and customer service was great, with the new ownership . Service sucks , the guy who helps me is like have a an attitude like I don't want to help you but I will because I work here . Cassie took my order she is so sweet! The place was empty when I came in, I tried this place once before and it was pretty good! I'm not a big poke bowl person but needed something healthy to eat today. So decided on this, I got one protein, salmon and white rice with spicy crab, spicy mayo, onions, scallions and some fried onions for some texture, also some cucumbers and ginger! Very simple but delicious bowl, the salmon was a tiny bit on the fishy side but I still ate almost the entire bowl. I got my bowl quickly they have inside seating. Lots of parking it's near Albertoson's and a bank. I would come back here it's not my first choice but the service was amazing so that makes me want to come back again. I absolutely love poke with everything but after coming here, ive learned that there are exceptions. Walking into this place, the place smelt rancid. I remember the girl serving me scooped up rice but I could clearly tell the rice was very old because it clumped into chunks. Half of the tuna turned a brownish color, looked rotten so I intentionally avoided this option. After I received my food, I took a bite and gagged. The rice did not taste like rice and I couldn't even feel the grains as they were matted together. The cucumbers tasted old and the girl added way too much sauce compared to the amount of fish given. If you were to come here, I would just keep in mind, its not the best. read more

Walked in and was greeted by who I think might have been the wonder, super nice and respectful. But first thing I noticed was the smell. It was not a pleasant one to walk into. But I still had hope. When we got our food and took it home, we started eating. I then noticed the smell of my rice and it was again not a pleasant or fresh smell of rice. It actually smelled like either dirty water rice or when you let the rice sit out to long kind of smelled. The rice I had ordered was the sushi rice and my wife had ordered normal white rice. Sorry this is long but worth the read: I truly should have checked the reviews before coming here. I was excited to find a Poke place close to my office but it turned about to be a sad disappointment. I should have known the second I walked through the door... there wasn't a single person in line (during the lunch rush) and it smelled a bit funky but I thought little of it. Most of the fish didn't look good in the containers but the salmon and tuna looked fresh so I opted for those. The topping choice was dismal but whatever. I used the restroom just after ordering and that was the writing on the wall. It was extremely dirty. I would not recommend this place to anyone. They have a lot of work to do... I think it's time for a rebrand. Now onto my first bite! The salmon tasted horrible and I threw the bowl away immediately to prevent any chance of food poisoning... and that's that :( To the owner: I think you can do a lot better. Came in for a quick late lunch as I was craving some poke, but unfortunately I do not plan on coming back anytime soon after my experience. I've been here before a while back and it was alright, but nothing too noteworthy. Regardless, I decided to give it a second chance today. First, the menu selection items are not clear. Although this did not pose as an issue for me who is used to most poke options typically offered, I think people would miss out on quite a bit of options including the seasonings if they do not directly ask their server. The server I had was alright and gave a good portion of food for a medium bowl at least. However, what was most disappointing was the cucumbers I got in my bowl. COMPLETELY SPOILED. The bitter flavor hit me quickly so I had to immediately toss it from my bowl. Also, the edamame tasted old, as if it was sitting out for too long. I am honestly surprised they did not take better care of their veggies, especially given that another review also said they had spoiled cucumbers. Service and food... nobody came to the bell for minute , then young girl with inappropriate clothing appeared and couldn't get order right for which bowls I wanted and had to be reminded. Scoops my rice onto my plate using the lid of the plastic Togo container. Then when I said to please remove the cucumber since it was frozen and soggy from defrosting she looked at me like nothing is wrong with it. When I asked her if she sees it's bad she says I don't kno I got in 20 minutes ago. Then when I asked for house spice and ponzu she says they are the same thing which they are not and puts spicy mayo on it and we don't eat mayo. I said that and she looked at me like that's my problem. I asked if it can be removed she said she would have to charge me. I said she could have asked me which spicy I wanted since there's 3 of em. Instead when I told her she only doesn't care but I won't be back here she says she doesn't care doesn't like my attitude. Then when my hand is out for my change she sets it down on counter behind my reach and leaves to the back. I had to bring her back out just to get my receipt. Despite the horrendous reviews, I decided to give Grindz Poke a try. When I walked in, contrary to what others said, the smell of the store seemed perfectly normal. Even if there was a smell, how much can that hurt? It's just a little bit of added personality. The environment was extremely well maintained and a nice young lady welcomed me into the store. I wasn't able to get her name but she was very kind and had a very warm smile. As for the food, I have nothing but a raving review!! The salmon was fresh, not in the slightest fishy. I consider myself to be a connoisseur of poke bowls and this one just might be in my top 10! The rice was a bit moist but it was well compensated with the ratio of fish I was given. The salmon is a must try and the avocado was absolutely fresh. I'm really glad I gave this place a try, and I most DEFINITELY will be back. read more

Stopped by the credit union next-door and decided to try this place. First thing I noticed it had an off-smell when I walked in. I could not describe it. It wasn't bad fish it just was not a very fresh smell. I got the five scoop bowl and I was disappointed with it. It was just not fresh. The fish did not taste fresh the greens were not fresh. I did get a scoop of brown rice with it and the rest greens and honestly, it was unremarkable and kind of old tasting. The cucumber I had added to it almost looked translucent. Not sure if that was because of the sauce that was poured on it or if it was just old cucumber. The Korean boy with the Mcdonald shaped hair cut is such a great worker (Bad memory, but I believe his name is Aidan)! There was also a petite Asian girl next to him that was very kind, she looked like a little bean. As soon as I walked through the door, he gave me a nice smile and said "Hello! Welcome to Grindz!" A lot of the reviews say the bathroom was dirty, but when I walked in he was scrubbing the inside of the toilet like it was life or death. It was so clean I would lick the floor. The food was quite scrumptious. I got a medium sized bowl with the salmon and the crab. I didn't get the spicy crab because I don't have a good spice tolerance (I would go crazy on the toilet that he just cleaned) so I resorted to the regular. The crab was so delicious with the mayonnaise sauce. Not a huge fan of raw fish, but the salmon was such a good texture, it just dissolved in my mouth. Yummy! I also decided to get the corn chips and guava juice, granted it was store bought. But extra points for even having it! Overall, I really enjoyed dining at Grindz. For a "fast-food" like restaurant the quality, ambiance, and the service was on par with a Michelin restaurant! 10/10 recommend for anybody looking for a quick and delectable bite! read more
