I come in about once a week, and have not been disappointed! Fresh fish and toppings and just the right amount of sauce. Have not had any bad experiences with toppings running out, but I typically come on a weeknight. My go-to bowl is a regular size with brown rice, tuna, salmon and shrimp, avocado, crab salad, edamame, cucumbers, and pineapple. Yum! read more

I'm no poke expert and my husband likes old standbys (Coco's, Marie Callendar's, Polly's - our daughter noticed his favorites all have an apostrophe s!). Once he tried this place though, he kept raving about poke. Poke never appealed to me but he finally convinced me to try it. I'm so glad I did! I nervously started with just a couple add-ins like avo and crabmeat, but now I just get everything, on a brown rice/salad base. The blend of flavors is like a party in my mouth. I love it!! The reusable containers are perfect for packing lunch or storing leftovers. We always get takeout so the size and ambience of the place aren't an issue. We went one night just before 8 and the line was long. The workers were moving fast and were so apologetic about the wait. I don't think anyone in line minded at all. Awesome experience at poki monster! I've driven past it so many times and finally decided to stop by and bring some home for the family. Fish was totally fresh and toppings were perfect! Sauce was just right and not overpowering at all! A nice somewhat healthy dinner choice! I really want to rate this place higher, but the location makes it just too hard to get into and out of quickly. You have to fight for parking with Auto Zone and 7-11 customers. Of the times I did make it in, there were one too many where the credit card machine didn't work, so they were cash only. Add to this the portions getting smaller each visit and I had to put them on the "nope" list. The food is excellent when they listen and make it as you request it, but it isn't worth the hassle. read more

My friends and I legit love this place. Went to the one in Tustin before and had our first poki there and since then we have been hooked. I love the toppings and how u aren't limited to a certain amount. The fish is good and they cut their onions thin so u they don't taste too strong. Growing up by a beach, I would say I have a knack for fish. Most poke places nowadays use poor quality fish and you can immediately taste it.Poki Monster is not one of them! I got the albacore,scallops, and salmon. Delicious! Avocado wasn't extra like extra places and the sauces were also fresh and great. I live a couple cities over and pass many other poke places but this place is worth the travel for me. Never disappointed. Recommend 10/10 :) read more

I ordered a large bowl with salmon and spicy salmon. It was amazing!! The rice was cooked perfectly and I was glad it wasn't hot... I don't want raw fish on a bed of hot rice! The fish and all of the ingredients were very fresh! I ordered the large with the intentions of saving half for later but it was so good I ate the whole thing!! Went to pokimonster monster for the first time. The food was good. The restaurant however needs a little work. The tables could be bused after the customers are done eating. General prices are average. They charge $1.00 for avocado. They skimp on the food unless you want to "buy" extra. Not impressed with this place. Service is decent. The worst thing, the fish doesn't taste fresh. Will never go back again. I don't understand how most of the reviews say this is "great food" cuz we sure didn't taste that. I wish more poki places was like this were if you want a little more rice they got you. There is a Poki Monster rightly my house in tustin, and I frequent there! It's delicious, fresh, and plenty of food! I was in the area of the Brea location, and was excited to eat some great food. I was severely disappointed and rather upset when my bowl was built in front of me. The staff here was so stingy with the portions, I left with half (no exaggeration) of what I usually get at the tustin location. Each fish item I got, I was literally given 3 pieces of. It was laughable. I will not go back to this location, because someone there is telling the employees to give out very little food. Figure it out, Poki Monster Brea. My husband and I tried Pokinometry when it first opened and he really didn't like it - was grossed out that the raw fish didn't seem to be kept very chilled. Ever since, he's been leery of these Chipotle style poke restaurants that have been popping up everywhere. He was at least willing to try Poki Monster because it was so close to our house.This place has changed his opinion on poke bowls! Everything was fresh and kept at a food-safe temperature, most importantly, the fish. They had tons of toppings that came included in the base price and a good variety of yummy sauces as well. I really enjoyed my regular size half & half bowl (half mixed greens and half white or brown rice) with scoops of salmon, yellowtail and spicy tuna. After adding in nearly all the topping options as well, I had a pretty hefty portion size. The one female on staff put my bowl together and she was really nice and gave great suggestions for sauce combos. Super thrilled that a poke place that my husband is willing to patronize has opened up in our neighborhood. Hope they continue to build their customer base and the high quality in food and service continues! read more

The poke here is good. The portion sizes are nice and the price is fair. I saw a lot of people when I went so I guess it is a popular place. I only went once, but I have no complaints about the food or service thus far. My biggest complaint is its location. Holy son of Ra, the parking is almost nonexistent there. I just happened to get lucky when I went, but I saw a lot of people have to turn out because the tiny lot was completely full and shared with like 3 other stores. They're also not open on Sunday, boo. It's definitely worth checking out if you like poke, but be prepared for parking challenges. read more

The fish didn't taste fresh, when I visited it was kind of warm inside the restaurant which felt kind of gross since I'm eating raw fish. I was in at the restaurant the same day the lady who wrote a review about the soap dispenser issue . And I was actually there when her encounter with the employee happened. She was extremely rude to him off the bat . She approached the counter mad and with attitude told the guy "I'm curious to know , how do you serve fish when your soap dispenser doesn't even work!" When she could have easily approached the guy in a nicer way and just let him know that there she was having trouble with the soap dispenser. Well the guy politely said that he washes his hands every time before he serves anybody and on top of that wears disposable gloves. Well I guess the lady didn't like his answer and said "well this is a health hazard and I'm gonna report it , that's disgusting I lost my appetite . What a turn off !" And before leaving she said "just give me a Starbucks coffee drink (the glass ones they sell)" , didn't even say please or anything. She was so demanding and belittled the guy so much , it made me furious ! I feel bad for not standing up and saying anything to her , but I'm not about conflict but I do know Right from wrong. Well when the lady left she was in her car and taking a picture of the restaurant from outside (go figure). The gentlemen working behind the counter (who was extremely nice and even asked me about my Halloween plans later on the day), went to the restroom to check on the soap dispenser . And wouldn't you know it ! It worked just fine ! And I went in there myself to check and guess what it worked . I find it funny that lady writing a really mean review and making herself seem like the victim. But thats yelp for you ! Ok I'm gonna be a tougher on all these poke bowl places... all these poke bowl places poppin up everywhere. Majority are the same and the style, prices and setup are all similar. Poki monster was no different than the others. The cuts of sushi were basically frozen with no flavor. I got the spicy mayo but really had no spice to it. Sorry I hate leaving such a flat review but thats what I felt after. It doesn't mean I wont be back since its pretty close to my work and the prices are average. Parking is horrible tho. The truck from 711 almost hit my van one time and there's less than 20 spaces within that corner plaza. Ive done it once already where I drove by saw no parking and just kept going. Service was so so it depends who is helping me but seems like some days no one cares some theyre happy to be there. Gotta step it up if you plan on standing out with all the other poke bowls poppin up. read more

I was excited this place opened up because it's close. I've been here 4 times since it opened, hoping it would get better. My first bowl was the regular with salmon, spicy tuna and tuna. Unlike other places, they don't mix the poki with sauce in a bowl. Instead, they pour the poki sauce over on top. It was different but very flavorful because they put a lot of poki sauce. My 2nd and 3rd visit, I noticed their portions were getting smaller - there was more rice than poki. They continued to generously pour the poki sauce. Tonight visit really saddened me. I asked for triple salmon and they changed their process. They now mix the poki with sauce in the bowl. When I told them no sauce, they seemed a bit annoyed and explained that I needed to tell them before because they mix the sauce. Well if you changed the process, you can't assume. Plus, the triple salmon was equivalent to 2 scoops elsewhere. To be successful, their portions and service needs to be consistent, not 'I may get a good bowl depending on who I get'. read more

This place reminds me of Chipotle with the difference of the chicken and beef being swapped out with really fresh and yummy chunks of sashimi PLUS a robust selection of veggies... like seaweed salad, avocado, pineapple, cilantro and more. The reason why I give it a 4 is because they are very limited to their sashimi choices... they only have salmon, spicy tuna, scallop, tuna, shrimp, and albacore. My preference would be the first 3. The spicy mayo sauce is good... but unknowingly to my husband, he got the last squeeze and I got volcano #1 instead. We will come back, it's nice and clean and delicious.
