This is one of our favorite places for a healthy lunch. My company and I order often and the quality is consistent.

We first ordered a poki bowl, which tasted at best a 5/10, not great quality of the fish, small portion size, and unfortunate texture of the rice. We also ordered the Grapefruit Ruby Radiance (drink) and the Green Grape Shiny Breeze (drink). The Grapefruit one was extremely bitter with the mix of the tea and grapefruit and had giant chunks of grapefruit at the bottom, and endless amounts of pulp. The grape one was better, but still not great. Very sour. The main reason it's getting a 2/5 instead of a 3/5 is because when we ordered our drinks, we sat down and started eating. We waited about 15 minutes before getting our drinks. We had to go in and remind them about them, I think they forgot based off their reaction. Anyway, they were very nice, but based off the quality of the food and the wait time, I gave this place a 2/5. I probably wouldn't go back. read more

Edible. Sad looking tuna and salmon (but tasted fine), old avocado, onion, and cucumber - clearly sitting there for a while. Again, edible. The young guy serving me was VERY high or stoned - moving very slowly, clearly struggling to pay attention to my words, forgetting what he was doing, etc.. I've always thought this poke place was better than any other. And I still think it is. The price is going up, almost $20 for a Small bowl. The manager was nice enough this evening when I was there. But his cashier could not make change. She sat there and struggled and did not know how much change to give me for a bowl costing $17.19, when given a $20 bill. I told her how much change, and she still struggled. Then the manager had to intervene and actually take the money out of the register and count it in front of her to show her. This is not trigonometry. This is Basic 'Making Change 101'. Note to managers: Cashiers have one job to do. Make sure your cashiers know how to make change. read more

We have gone to other locations of Poke One n Half for years and loved it. When we stopped into this location a few days ago it had an overwhelming fishy smell that should've signaled something wasn't right. No other sushi or poke places I frequent have that smell. Everyone in our party that ate poke from here that night got food poisoning. It was no fun. I hate to post this review as the staff is really nice, but need to give the feedback. Unfortunately, some of the fish they had went bad, and we were very sick because of it. read more

I lived near the La Jolla Village Drive location for years, and am a huge fan of their chain. When I moved to North County, I had to suck it up and try other poke places, which I considered comparable but not quite the same. I am VERY glad that there's a location nearby now, and the flavors are just as good as expected! One star off because one of the major appeals was the pricing for the quality. Prices are now quite a bit higher, and I noticed their scoops of protein seem a bit smaller now too. read more

I'm leaving this at 2 stars because in the past I have had good experiences with this place, but tonight left a really bad taste in my mouth (pun intended, sorry). Ordered what I would usually order, tuna, salmon and imitation crab. I got home and the and when I was taking my first couple bites, I noticed a very distinctly bad flavor from the imitation crab. I called, simply to inform the staff that there might be something wrong with said imitation crab, and after telling them there was an off flavor, the woman who I was talking to said "yeah, that's just how the imitation crab tastes." As if putting an intentionally bad tasting ingredient on the table to serve was a normal thing to do. I have had imitation crab before, and it does not usually taste bad. read more

I tried to order pickup from this restaurant. I ordered to this location instead of the one by my house. When I saw this as soon as I noticed I was told I would get a refund. They later refused my refund and I never got any food. There are a lot of good places to get poke if you want good customer service don't go here. read more

Mixed feelings on this.. they give a decent size portion on the scoops of protein and the rice/lettuce but were very stingy on the cucumber/crab/toppings. I also felt like it was kind of bland compared to the other poke place I'm used to going. Had to dump a large portion of soy sauce and siracha spicy mayo I had at home on top. Giving it 4 stars because I think it would be worth a second try. Knowing what I know now I would just ask for more toppings and more sauces since the one wasn't enough. read more

Really wanted to like this place. I was absolutely starving, which usually means I'll enjoy the food no matter what but that wasn't the case :( I ordered online for pickup and when I got my order and ate it on the way home, I noticed that they literally forgot to add my sauce. I checked everywhere in the bowl to see if I missed it and inspected it with the flashlight from my phone but nope- I was just eating plain fish and rice. On top of that, while I was eating I almost choked on a small hard thing- it might have been a bone but I know fish bones aren't small and round like a pebble shape. Either way I spit it out and just ended up not eating the whole bowl. This place looked nice and the reviews seemed great so I'm pretty disappointed :((( read more

I moved to San Diego from LA in 2021 and this is my favorite poki place now. They have a good variety of fish, toppings and sauces that are fresh and tasty. As someone whos worked at poki places Poki One N Half is the only place that keeps their rice in heated containers while waiting to serve to customers. This makes sure you always get good rice. At other poke places its a toss up and you could get old rice if they are not as busy that day read more
