We had two six-star experiences within one week here! #1- my daughter and i had our order doordashed to our hotel, tuna nachos, the Boss bowl and Spicy bowl. All generously portioned with rice, edamame, krab, salmon and tuna, etc- flavors were perfect, we were VERY full afterwards and ate the rest for breakfast the next day- still delish ! Went again for time #2 with my husband yesterday, I had the nachos again because they were that good :) They're really great about not over-saucing things so you get all of the flavors mixed together- YUMMY! Since we were onsite I also got a view of their comprehensive menu and there's a ton of delicious choices if you wanted to make your own bowl. My husband loved his, our lunch wtih a 20% tip was $48. One can expect the unexpected here in Walter White's neighborhood. Poki Poki did not disappoint. This new style of place allows one to build up a ridiculously healthy poke bowl from scratch, specifying all ingredients along the way. The restaurant is nestled in a tight rectangular building that seems to be assembled like a Soma cube, with passageways and jogs and pass-thru-a bar doorways. Once you've gotten through the short maze, there's a cozy dining area with tables and a dining bar, and off to one side the service wall. There you'll find a staff friendly and helpful to the noob, though it seems like everyone half my age or less had been here 100 times and spoke in code. No worry, boomer, just ask and they'll tell you how it all works. The protein selection ranges from the raw (as implied by "ceviche" in the name, and what drew me in) to the fully-cooked (the only way, as far as I know, to consume chicken). All the ingredients were fresh. There's an open drink fountain with soft drinks (or, are they called "soda pop" here?) and iced tea from a dispenser on tap. The building is very interesting bc you can enter anywhere 360°. It felt like we were coming through the back, but it ended up winding us around like a maze. There was cool graffiti throughout the walls and many photo op areas. We came on a Thursday night, so it wasn't terribly busy. There's outside seating, which was kind of narrow and occupied. We ordered our food like it was an assembly line. Menu was easy to understand step-by-step. The customer service was nice, but also really loud in the back, so it was hard to communicate through our masks. I ordered the Large Build Your Own Bowl, which was 5oz of protein ($13.95). I thought it was amazing that they let you mix & match your proteins. So I opted for 5 proteins 1oz each! Normally, other places only allow a certain number of proteins like 2-3. Note: their website needs to be updated bc it has old cheaper prices. Build Your Bowl: Base: Half brown rice x half salad 5 oz protein: salmon, ahi tuna, shrimp, Peruvian ceviche, & spicy tuna (they actually weigh it) Sauce: Spicy Poki x Chimichurri (on the side) 4 Toppings: Krab salad, edamame, seaweed salad, & jalap-corn Unlimited variety: pickled ginger, cilantro, scallions, masago, jalapeño, cucumber, & seaweed SO ordered the Chimichurri Steak Taco Bowl ($12). He enjoyed his Bowl with "The Most Interesting" Lager ($5). He enjoyed that beer very much. Would go back for that. We shared a Lychee Cold Sake ($6). It was the first time I've had it in awhile. Normally, I've had it in a wine glass, but it was served in a hot sake flask. It was easier to share with 2 ppl, made 4 small shots. I was really hungry, so I devoured everything. It was over filled to the top bc I like trying everything! Only reason it wasn't the best I've ever had was bc the brown rice was kind of cold and crunchy, they didn't mix the proteins with the Spicy Poki sauce, so I could barely taste it, if it was even in there, so everything kind of tasted bland in a way. But I enjoyed the Chimichurri sauce on the side. The proteins were cut in small cubes, it could taste a little fresher. But overall, it was great portions and an interesting fusion of Hawaiian Poke and Latin flare. Next time, I'll get the Ultimate (7oz size) so I can add the other toppings like avocado, plantain, yam chips, & pineapple salsa, and other spicy sauces. Definitely be back to the other parts of the menu and drinks! Their old menu says they have boba. But I didn't check out the option at the counter. They also have refrigerated beverages too. There's a boba shop near by as well. Ambience is very cool and chill. There are 2 bar areas. The bartenders are hard to point out bc they're also servers that help service the adjacent tables throughout the seating areas. Our server was cool and asked us for assistance quickly. We ordered the alcoholic drinks through him. We sat in a large Nook area covered in graffiti. read more

I have been here twice so far and I am looking forward to coming back and trying more items from their menu. My first visit I intended to get an appetizer and something else but I was so confused because there was no printed menu and I was very unsure of the ingredients in each of the bowls. I only got spring rolls which they call egg rolls and was very disappointed because they were cold in the center and not entirely cooked all the way through. This left me feeling a little uncertain about kitchen capabilities. And my second visit I came a little bit more prepared with a menu on my phone so that I could look at the ingredients in each of the bowls. It was busy during dinner time and there was an assembly line type of proficiency after ordering food. I ordered a bowl and it was very tasty and I was really happy with that. I love this building. In the main dining area there are a couple of large tables so it's a little bit more community style. On the other side there is a bar which I have not yet seen open, and that is where I chose to sit and eat alone on my own enjoying my meal. One thing to note is that the parking lot here is very tight you can get into it from both Comanche going east and from Wyoming going south. The parking lot is l-shaped and again it's pretty tight parking. What's also nice is that there are actually four total food businesses so you can have four different food experiences all within walking distance of each other. This is a counter-serve poke place that shares a building with a number of other restaurants. They have pre-designed poke bowls but make alterations to those as requested. They also have a build-your-own-bowl option. I got the small Hawaiian bowl for $14.50. That size was enough food for me and tasted delicious. There are fountain sodas and bottled drinks as well. The venue is very casual and laid back. Since it's counter service, you'll need to ask for silverware and napkins up front. Overall a cute little place with interesting poke combinations I hadn't seen before. I'll definitely be going back, especially since they have a free rewards loyalty program. read more

Poki Poki is one of my most favorite places to eat in Albuquerque and has been for quite some time! Unfortunately, it's difficult to justify eating here as often as I used to (2-3 times a week) due to the fact they keep increasing prices. The Ultimate Bowls are now over $20. The concept of Poki is amazing and the flavors are great! I always order a spicy bowl with salmon only. It has the perfect amount of spice! Sometimes they lack consistency based on who is making the bowl, but this visit, my bowl was loaded (my boyfriend's was not). Consistency would be great for the future! I was really disappointed going over to poki on taco Tuesday. I was originally looking forward to the tacos only to be surprised with dried up meat and overly breaded fish! The ceviche tostada was poorly prepared and bland. The bowls are not good either, not enough meat! This was not the service I expected and it was slow? Great food and my first time getting a poki bowl. Disclaimer I'm not a huge fan of seafood so I was glad to see they had other options on the menu. My boyfriend had been nagging me to get a poki bowl since he loves them so much so I ordered the teriyaki pork bowl while he got the build your own salmon bowl. The regular bowl seemed small when I got it but it was packed with food and they didnt skimp on the protein. I loved how crispy the plantain chips were and the other fresh ingredients complemented it well. We also had ordered some egg rolls which were perfectly crisp and not greasy. A typical poke place with a few interesting options. If you frequent poke places...this is another one. If consider yourself a poke conesuir from Hawaii or LA, turn away. At the end of day poke is a simplistic concept. Fresh fish and rice. Poke is supposed to embrace the fish by itself. Unfortunately, what Poki Poki does is less Poke more of just a rice bowl (or whatever bowl option you choose). A lot of the base options are fish, but the fish isn't even close to fresh and probably ordered from whatever food vendor they settled with the sources in the area(Golden State? Sysco? idk). Probably hoping whatever version of mayo you choose will cover the fishy-ness out of the tuna. If you hate fish and just want tofu or chicken, great! It's not that bad here. The tacos aren't half bad either. I'm not going to say Poki Poki is bad. It's a solid bowl. The sauce options are good and the number of available toppings is overwhelming sometimes. But for the price points I'm on the fence if it's worth it. read more

I am only giving four stars because the food is fantastic when it is made correctly. I was so sad to see the Nob Hill location closed because the Wyoming Location does not make orders accurately for whatever reason. We never had a single issue at the Nob Hill location. We have had 2 in person orders and at least four online orders screwed up at the Wyoming location. We pay extra for things and don't receive them. We also received unwanted ingredients that were clearly requested (by box) to be removed. These occurred through Web order through the website and also through DoorDash. We will probably keep coming here because we love the food, but it is extremely frustrating. Hopefully they can iron these issues out. read more

We have had this place on our list forever. So glad we finally tried it. Its a bit of a funky layout so don't be discouraged by what looks like limited seating. There is more seating upstairs and we also saw people taking their bowls into the brewery next door. I'd advise to check out the menu before you go. I think I've eaten here two or three times. The salmon and tuna are always so fresh you'd swear they were still swimming. A Poki bowl contains raw tuna, salmon and ceviche. It's essentially the Hawaiian version of sushi, except served in a a bowl over salad, wontons, and white, or brown rice. I ordered a large bowl of the Peruvian ceviche, salmon, tuna, brown rice, salad, and wontons. They smothered this in roasted jalapeno lime sauce and then I added seaweed salad, crab salad, kimchi, wasabi, green chile, avocado, lime, cilantro, and masago (fish eggs). The dressing on top was their avocado wasabi aioli. The freshness and deliciousness just pops in your mouth. I'm always aware at how energized and healthy I feel after consuming a Poki bowl. I will be a life long customer and hope this wonderful restaurant survives Covid. It would be shame if it didn't! read more

Ok the place is not bad. It has 2 floors and lots of seating. I haven't been to the 2nd floor. But there's a bar area that offers outside seating at the bar area as well as a few seats inside. There's another bar inside. If I'm not mistaken the outside bar serves beers and the indoor one serves liquor. I'm not much of a beer drinker so I had a few beverages from the inside bar. I felt bad for the bar tender because he was working non stop. Seemed like he was the only bar tender at the moment. But as for the food itself, it didn't really grab my attention. I ordered one of the Latin plates they had. And it was ok. They probably can do better. But the scenery and the vibes wasn't bad at all. I would come just to enjoy a drinks at the bar. read more

If you haven't tried it, might as well because it's good and I don't think you will regret it. Fun high energy place-found a quiet corner upstairs to sit and eat. My first visit in and I was a bit overwhelmed by all of the options on the menu. This menu is a blend of Latin/Asian inspiration. I love sushi, and this kind of like rolled sushi, however it's just in a bowl. On this visit, the staff was friendly as I explained what I was interested in and helped to guide my order. I decided on a Poke bowl with seared Ahi Tuna and I also picked up a oreo cheesecake for dessert. It took about 10-15 minutes to cook up, so I waited and took a few pics of the cool art all over the walls (see pics). I definitely enjoyed my first Poke bowl. I will definitely make the choice to go raw seafood all the way next time. The dining room was closed due to covid restrictions and the outside patio area wasn't accessible at that time either. I took my bowl to my car and ate it up there. The portion was the perfect size to be satisfied without being overly stuffed. I enjoyed Poki Poki and thought the portions were fantastic! The jalapenos were definitely spicy. I ordered 3 different things for different people, but having never been before we weren't sure what to get. I got a bowl as did my sister that were their standard sort of menu. She does not do mayo and gets sick with it, but it seems their avocado wasabi also has mayo in it. That was our only issue. Overall, it was a good experience and yummy. read more

So this place has some strange dynamic with a coffee/sweets place attached to it. When I entered the signs were useful... go this way for Poki and this way for sweets. OK I go towards poki and walk up to some bar. The vibe is colorful n chill. Some chick is eating a poke bowl and having a drink. So I must be in the right place. But then I see a hallway leading to the poke restaurant (typical assembly line of poke bowl choices) and another bar where I think the sweets come from. Anyway, interesting combo and layout of the restaurant but I dug it. As for the food.... damn those loaded nachos were da bomb! The salad base tastes consistently fresh, and the one time we had an issue with an order, the staff re-built the poki bowl and left us confident in the quality and care they take with the build.
