I'll say it every time and mean it... sushi xuan is hands down the best of the best in Abq when it comes to sushi! The service is always exceptional, The sushi is always fresh, and the food is always hot and made to order! It's a smaller location but that only adds the to charm and adds more of a reason to go. If you have not tried them yet... check them out!

Chirashi don - mixed sashimi on rice (ordered delivery)

Ordered via GrubHub with gift card. Packaging was smart, separating the ramen broth from the noodles to prevent over-saturation. Alas, I did not enjoy the black garlic tonkatsu ramen broth. The portion was very large, and they didn't skimp on chashu, but the broth was not my bag... Maybe it'll be yours? Also ordered chirashi don (12 pieces of mixed sashimi on rice). Included nice extras, like seaweed salad and imitation krab and tamago (egg)...but only one of the fresh fish impressed me.

Quick update. The egg drop and hot and sour soup are very good. I find myself dining here at least once a week as it is the closest sushi place to my home and rather convenient. The brewery and dispensary in the same shopping center can sometimes make parking challenging, but a short walk to work off an excellent meal is not a bad thing. Eating at the bar is also an interesting experience since you get to meet the takeout customers and delivery drivers waiting for orders.

My second favorite sushi joint! Phenomenal Hamachi with jalapeño. Just be aware that sometimes there is shellfish and it doesn't say that on the menu. Everything is delicious! Services, fantastic, and ambience is nice as well.

Came in for sushi. We are pretty basic when it comes to sushi. California Roll, Tiger Roll, Caterpillar Roll and Tempura. All of it was fantastic. Service was great.

Ordered via Uber Eats. Love at first sight roll and nigiri were pretty good. The fish was fresh enough. The "Korean Spicy Chicken" was confusing because it's not at all what I was expecting. The description doesn't state that it's breaded and fried so I wasn't expecting that. And if you're going to call something "Korean" and fry it, it had better be crispy AF. It had a light coating of breading which is fine but it was not crispy at all. Korean fried chicken is usually a thicker breading and double fried. The use the dried whole chili peppers is more Chinese than Korean. I did taste some gochugang but that's about as Korean as it got. It's not a bad dish, it's just not that Korean. I would maybe try ordering some more sushi rolls but maybe not the "Korean" dishes.

Traveling out of our usual circle brought us here for dinner. We walked into a dimly lit store and greeted by the exuberant manager telling us to sit anywhere and following with menus. Complimentary egg drop soup and our drinks came next. A lot to choose from by we settled on a lobster roll and for entrees the Sizzling Beef & Thai Curry Chicken. The sizzling beef came out sizzling on a cast iron platter(think fajitas). It was well seasoned and tender with onion, mushrooms and white rice in the side. The Curry had a strong yellow curry flavor with tender chicken and loads of veggies. The Lobster Roll tasted fresh. Excellent service topped off the day. Glad we stopped and this place will see us frequently.

I absolutely love this place. The service was top-notch, friendly and attentive. There is plenty of seating with nice, big booths and tables but it is not a huge place. The sushi and specialty rolls menu is amazing and creative. I took my whole family here and we ordered a lot of different things off the menu and everybody enjoyed their food. The sushi fish was extremely fresh and well portioned. Very competitive prices as well for Albuquerque. I also ordered the spicy Korean shrimp and I can honestly say I have never tasted anything like that and it was delicious. I just can't say enough good about this place. It has consistently stayed quality over the years.

Solid sushi. Great prices. Good service. I can't say if it's the best sushi in ABQ. I haven't tried that many Sushi places here.

We ordered 2 orders of Chicken Katsu appetizers, 6 Piece Gyoza, Kastu Donburi, & Beef Nagomi Ramen. For the chicken katsu appetizers we asked if it came with rice which we wanted them to, and the lady said they did. It was disappointing upon arrival at home and there was no rice included. We had to cook rice at home instead. The katsu pieces were crispy and the little one liked it, so that was good. Not a fan of the sauce it came with, though. 6 pc gyoza was good. We liked the sauce it came with as it was flavorful. Would reorder in the future. Katsu Donburi bowl was good. Would recommend and portion was just right. Nagomi Ramen - we asked for beef, but it looked like it was pork instead. It was pretty bland, which was disappointing. So maybe will get it spicy next time if we order again. Great portion size. Would consider going back to try their sushi and other options.

Sushiya is my goto for sushi in Albuquerque. It is consistently good, or it has been for me over the past six years. The food has always tasted fresh and they make a nice variety of rolls. I also frequent this restaurant with people who are NOT seafood or sushi fans by any means. So they have a nice variety of foods that are not sushi. In terms of the food, I'd always recommend it to anyone looking for good sushi. As for the service, which in my opinion separates the good from bad, it has been consistently good for six years. The service is always friendly. They are attentive and they anticipate your needs. This is a mom and pop place. I remember spending my days at my dad's bakery and coffee shop when I was young. Interacting with the customers and watching the place operate. Well, Sushiya reminds me of those times because they have their boy there who gets to do the same thing. So it's a nostalgic family and personal experience for me. It sets the ambience of the restaurant. People are friendly and you feel comfortable there. Overall, Sushiya has good service, it's family owned and operated. You just can't beat that! It's people who are passionate about their business. You know they care because they have skin in the game. This all shows at Sushiya. So go, check it out! Are you going to be blown away like Marty McFly by the food? Maybe not. We have been eyeing it for a while. Like most restaurants we like to visit, it is family owned with nice decor and enough space. The menu shows many Japanese and Thai options, all of them equally appetizing. The server was quite friendly, helping us choose the chicken Pad Thai (extra spicy) and the beef pineapple rice. The pad Thai was deliciously spicy on its own accord, but the Thai chiles gave it the extra kick the hubby was hoping for. An additional chile paste gave it a bit of smokiness. The pineapple rice was slightly sweet, as expected. What surprised me was that it had raisins! I do not like raisins but the dish was so good and the raisins were such a muted ingredient that I did not mind it. Overall, this was a very nice and satisfying first visit at Tomi Sushi, getting us interested in trying more items in their menu.

For 30.00 you can order whatever you want from the large sushi menu. You have to eat it all and you have a two hour time limit. It kind of reminded me of Meat Beard the food challenge Tuber who eats gigantic food challenges except that you don't get a free meal if you eat everything. It's okay sushi. I find that sushi here in ABQ tends to be the sweet sauce kind and that's no exception here. I had a few nigiris a few special rolls and an eel hand roll. I liked the eel roll except I thought I'd left cream cheese on sushi back in Seattle where I used to live. I've given up on super fresh fish here in ABQ, mainly because I get that we are in the desert so any sushi is welcome. But the nigiris were all fresh tasting with bouncy flesh. The surf clams was the best of those. The place is a little tatty with a half assed attempt at paper flower decorations on a few walls. It's clean but looks old and worn. The staff were nice and friendly and didn't make you work hard to re-order. So the answer to my question is Yes, being able to eat a lot of mediocre food for free is a nice treat.
