They had a blueberry and mango sauce which were tasty. We also tried the matcha ice cream which was good but a tiny scoop (it wasn't expensive though to be fair). I absolutely love Poki Run. It makes me want to go back to all the other poke places I've reviewed and take off a star because Poki Run definitely deserves 5 stars in my book. Service was great, no complaints and the lady running the register was very kind and sweet. The food!!! Oh my, the portions are a lot for a large bowl. Great for sharing. What surprised me the most is their FREE AVOCADO (like seriously). They also had thinly sliced apples which added to the fresh flavor of the poke. The protein was prepared well, it wasn't iced or anything compared to the other poke places out there where their protein feels like it's straight from the freezer or wasn't defrosted well. I was curious to know why so many people loved the combos so I was compelled to try their avocado roll combo. Generally I would think that an avocado is a bad value because... it's just avocado. But it was so fresh and the rice is perfection. I've never had such an delicious without fish! It's also amazing to me they offered yellowtail. I've never seen that offered at any poke in this area. However, good prices don't matter if the fish is bad. It was very fishy, to the point where it was inedible. The salmon had a thin cloudy white layer over it. I knew it looked bad when I saw it, but I had already started my order and I felt bad walking out in the middle of it. Plus, I figured with prices that good, why not give it a shot. My boyfriend and I love this place! We're from the East Bay and have recently had business in this area and luckily found this spot because its been making the one hour one-way commute so worth it!! Food: FRESH ! So good, and they have short yet plentiful variety including their hot sauces (they have an extra spicy one that is actually spicy) and a house sauce which is good as well. You really can't go wrong as its customizable to your taste. Value: Definitely worth it. A regular bowl is a great size (I can EAT but I get so full by half the bowl). Also, the price includes avocado and all the fixings! I can see how it can be pricy for one person but you seriously get what you pay for! Service: Their employees are probably the sweetest employees I've ever came across! Super patient and kind to the point where you can just tell they're genuinely nice people. One of my favorites because they don't charge you for the extra toppings, they use my favorite toppings, they make sushi rolls (basic ones, but delicious nonetheless), and they have other mayo sauces like blueberry mayo and mango mayo. I went with white rice with a little bit of greens and yellow tail, tuna, and spicy shrimp all tossed in their delicious extra spicy sauce. I got all of the free toppings. This hidden gem opened not too long ago and is in my opinion the best poki spot in Milpitas. I've been going to a few poki bowl places in San Jose and was so glad this place opened so close to my house. They have a couple options here, but I typically go for the regular size which consist of 3 scoops vs large 5 scoops. The portions they give are very generous and always fills me up. From tuna to salmon they have your typical selection of protein. Fish taste really good, rice is very good and I recommend trying their spicy mayo sauce. Their spicy Wasabi sauce is tasty too. Just ask for sauces on the side so you can taste before you douse the bowl. Service here is always fast and friendly. The older lady that works there is super awesome. She gave a free miso soup because I had to wait for a new batch of rice to cook. I try to make it out here once a week to satisfy my poki cravings. I suggest you do the same! read more

Poki Run is good, but I think their salmon seemed dry and less moist compared to other poke places. Poki Run looks like it's a mom & pop run shop, but it has amazing service. I got the regular size - half rice half salad that came with 3 scoops of protein. The 3 scoops of salmon I ordered looked a little dry, and their spicy mayo sauce was white instead of orange. I thought that was a little strange, but it tasted okay. Perks of this place: No extra charges for guac No extra charges for seaweed salad BUT there is an extra charge for topiko. Overall, the place is alright. With all the poke places popping up everywhere, however, I don't believe I'll drive out of my way to come here. read more

The place is clean and bright and the service is fast (it has a fast food feel). I love how the food is completely customizable and you can pick everything from the base to the proteins to the toppings. There are two sizes, a large (5 scoops of protein for $13.40) and a small (3 scoops for $10.95). The base can be sushi rice, brown rice, or greens (or a mixture of any). There are a variety of fish including salmon, tuna, and albacore. The fish is fresh and sashimi-grade. I got a scoop of the tuna and two scoops of the salmon, and it was delicious. There are also a variety of toppings and they are all free! I love that the freebies include avocado, seaweed salad, and crab meat. I also tried the mango mayo that was wonderfully smooth, rich, and creamy. The amount of food is substantial - especially with the sushi rice which is really filling - and I think a large could last for two meals for me.
