I usually get medium bowl with white rice, and spicy tuna/shrimp/albacore for fish. Poke bowl still fresh, tasty, and delishious. Price, options, and portions similar to other poke places. Would like to see some additional options for sauce. Parking can be difficult to find, so plan ahead. Definitely recommend this place. read more

Probably the best poke bowl I've had outside of Hawaii. My friends have been raving about this place for years and I finally got to try for myself. I am from San Francisco, you'd think we'd have higher quality fish but nope! The fish here is fresh! And they actually fill/pack the bowl with salad without me asking. On the plus side, imitation crab meat isn't considered one of the "meats" and AVOCADO is included! So mind blown. read more

Parking is tough. We had to park in the loading zone and run in to place our order. Looks like a Chipotle setup. Great customer service. Workers are friendly and help make recommendations if you are overwhelmed. They are quick and the servings are generous for a reasonable price. The fish tastes fresh. The sauces are good. Quality of the poke bowls have gone down compared to pre COVID. Also the worker with the blonde and pink hair was rude. She was rolling her eyes when we asked her to repeat herself because we could not hear her through the loud music that was playing inside. The music was so loud she could barely hear us as well. Her customer service was so bad. She acted as though she hated being in that place and just made our experience so awful. It's really too bad because we were looking forward to going back there. honestly pretty overhyped. i'm confused as to why this poke place remains the highest rated in OC despite much better poke places existing here. given the reviews, we had very high expectations which were sadly not met. don't get me wrong, this place isn't bad, but it's not the best not by a long shot. we got 2 medium bowls with salmon and tuna and they gave me white rice even though i asked for brown. their lack of variety in toppings is very apparent, and their servings are quite stingy. they give pretty little fish. they also didn't have many now common toppings like seaweed salad and edamame. the sauces are also extremely limiting. the quality itself is decent, but it's just too simple and left a lot to be desired. their decor and interior could also really use an upgrade, it feels really old and rundown. when we got takeout, the bowls they use are a styrofoam like material, which is cheap and not eco friendly. however, i'll still leave this place with 4/5 since it wasn't exactly bad. this place left a lot to be desired and i have had so much better poke in oc in terms of price, quality, and portion. i suppose this place is only good for those new to poke/sashimi to try. i will not be coming back. read more

PokiNometry still has great poke and amazing service but the only problem I have with it is their price. With so many poke places around, $12.25+tax for a large bowl is a little too high for my liking :-( PokiNometry isn't the closest to me either and there's a cheaper place that's closer to me and sells their large for $10.25 with a similar quality of fish. So my final verdict is that PokiNometry wouldn't be a poke place I'd go out of my way for but if I'm in the area (the area is super nice and lovely by the way) I'd stop by to grab a medium bowl instead. Most of the time I would leave 4-5 stars because they really have great bowls and the staff is normally pretty great but today I don't know what was one of the staffs problem. The girl with the hat that has pins on it was so rude and was chewing gum (yes we can see it your mask is moving ) while serving my bowls. I told her to make sure one of the bowls would not have any sesame seeds because of a serve sesame allergy and she proceeds to add items containing sesame seeds; after I address it she just has an attitude about it. Madam I asked no sesames for an allergy why are you having attitude, everyone else in that store was super friendly and helpful but if you don't like it working in the food industry. Also I get it if you're having a bad day but it's not an excuse to do your job poorly and possibly get other people sick or give them an allergy attack. read more

I usually love this place, i still do, it's delicious. I went on today 03/03/2022. There was a young girl and a young man working. The young girl was at the beginning of the line throwing food on the bowl like an angry lunch lady. She was giving me and my brother all kinds of dirty looks every time we asked for a topping. It was even a little uncomfortable with how angry she seemed. The young man was a little less angry. I understand everyone is under staffed and over worked, but we all should beat little more kind, friendly and courteous. read more

The food was good but the guy scooping the rice and fish was a bit messy. While he was scooping the rice and fish fell everywhere and he'd pick it up to throw it back in the bowl. The containers with the fish had bits of different kinds of fish in it because he was so messy. I wanted scallops but there was shrimp (I'm allergic to shrimp) in it because it fell over. I'm quite disappointed in my visit today at PokiNometry. This used to be my favorite poke place but the service today was unacceptable. I felt very rushed. I had to order three bowls at once and there wasn't even a long line behind me. On top of that they closed my poke bowl before I even got to order everything that I wanted. This is not a fast food restaurant, it's a poke restaurant. A place where people should be given THE time to pick their toppings and sauces. Pokinometry falls in the middle of the scale for me. It's decent but not my favorite. Good customer service. employees are nice and polite. and they keep the line moving along quickly. Cons: One of my favorite items in a poke bowl is the crab meat and I always order extra scoops. Unfortunately the crab at pokinometry isn't very creamy and it has sesame seeds mixed in. I hate sesame seeds and really don't want them in my meal unless I have no other option. Also the parking can be an issue here. Street parking is usually filled up. And I don't want the inconvenience of going into a parking deck for just a 5 minute stop to run in and pick up. read more

Well I feel the need to post an update after going here a few more times. Service has been the best each time, but I guess I didn't realize previously they don't have edamame, corn or seaweed as toppings. Also, the last 2 times, the spicy tuna had a bunch of fat in it and as I mentioned before, the white rice isn't very tasty. It's definitely not sticky sushi rice... Bay area lacks good poke places. Period. When we were in town, at the top of our list was returning to PokiNometry. We visited this past weekend and it tasted just as good as we remembered it! I usually go for 3 scoops of salmon and 2 scoops of tuna with the mild or medium sauce. Their mixins include avocado (try finding a place in NorCal that includes avo) and crab salad which are delicious and bind so well with the fish. The fish is fresh and never smells off. read more

The way they served to customer is similar to Chipotle that you can create your own meal by choices.They served 3 different meal sizes: small, medium and large. Medium is definitely a decent portion for an adult and you get to pick 3 different types of nemo/fish. Here's what I got for my colorful pokebowl: Brown rice, crab meat, avocado, cucumbers, salmon, tuna and yellowtail, little spicy miso, masago and green onion. It was fresh, filling and delicious. I like the salmon more than any other fish they have. I paid less than $10 for a great size bowl filled with more ingredients. In NYC, we paid more for a smaller size. read more

I visited PokiNometry on 1/25/21 at 5:30 pm and experienced such rude and unprofessional customer service from GORDO JONNY and the manager on site. Upon paying, I entered my phone number for the rewards program and was told that there was no rewards. After repeating my phone number, Johnny found that I typed in a different area code and said that I had an attitude. I bit my tongue and didn't say anything back. I felt that I did not have an attitude, and for him to say that to me was unprofessional. As I was exiting, I asked him for his name and he told me "no ma'am you can leave now." Shocked with what I heard I moved closer to him and asked "what did you say?" I repeated my question about asking for his name and he still wouldn't tell me. I proceeded to ask to speak to the manager and asked the manager the name of the person helping me. The manager told me he couldn't give me his name. Really? If a customer is asking for the employee's name to speak about the service received, it's expected that he would give his name. Is that the policy you have - to not give out names? Why are you protecting each other? I've never experienced this before. FYI I found his name on my receipt. I have been visiting this place for the past 5 years and will never come back. This place needs a management change. I called to tell them I found a piece of saran wrap in my food and that the outer wrap had a very bad odor too it. The manager thought it was okay to just tell me to get my money back. I'm afraid there is no basic training set in place here. The ingredients seemed fresh. I do wish they offered sushi style rice though. Presentation of the food is a bit sloppy. Value is normal for poke bowls, just under $10 gets you three types of fish. Dining area of the restaurant is kept clean. Overall experience was enjoyable, but owner needs to work on the five star rating. I would eat here again, but due to presentation and issue to owner below, I will only give 3 stars. It would be hard to recommend to friends until I see issue below is resolved. Note to the owner: health and safety concern. Employees need to remove gloves before handling money and put clean ones back on when they return to the food line. The guy at the end of the line took my $$ with gloves on and then returned to the next customer. Especially not safe with raw food. Over all, food handling refresher should be given to your staff. Came here on a Tuesday night to help out a sister from college. When we walked in around 4:30 it was dead empty. We had no wait. Overall I'd say it's similar to every other poke place around. The fish was good, but I do echo the same thing recent reviews have said about the undercooked rice. The business may want to check into their commercial rice cooker, as the rice is a bit hard. Parking is not so great. I didn't have an issue, as I came on a Tuesday, but I know the area and once street parking is gone, you have to park a bit away at a structure. Not sure I would return to this poke place with all the others out there, but if it's convenient, it's convenient: I just really hate hard rice. read more

Can I just say I agree with Michael T. I've have always gone to pokinometry for poke. However, this time I am baffled. I will post a picture of the untouched food below. We ordered 3 medium bowls. And the fish amount was so inconsistent in all 3 bowls. The bowl in the picture is a medium! That clearly looks like a small. The fish amount decreased by so much, in comparison to the times I've gone before. I don't understand how the quality and quantity and food can get any worst than this. Not only were we given a small amount of fish in comparison to before but the quality of the fish was subpar. Every single bit of fish was a different size. Some of the fish was still attached to each other, like a sad chain of fish flopping around. It looks as if the workers there do not care about how the fish is cut, it all looks like the food is thrown haphazardly together. Overall, so unappetizing. This is my go-to/favorite poke spot! I've tried other places, but my heart and stomach just keep coming back. The location is right on the corner so it's easy spot. Parking can be tough but they don't have control over that. They have street parking and if that's full, there's a parking structure not too far down. Depending on what time you come, the line goes by pretty fast and seating is pretty open. It can get a bit loud once it gets busy, but what place wouldn't? Just like over reviews have stated, it's like a chipotle style service. I normally get a small half brown/half white rice, cucumber and crab, salmon and tuna. I get the mild sauce but add spicy mayo at the end to add a kick. Add most of the toppings, but hold the ginger and wasabi. Their salad option is good too. Even though it only comes in a medium or large, you do get more fish options. I normally put the dressing on the side and add when needed. Price is decent especially for what you're getting. The staff is always friendly and they really pay attention to what they're doing. If they notice that they don't give you a full scoop of something, they'll make sure to scoop the missing portion.
