Finally decided to try this poke place after all the years I've been to Mr.Tokyo next door. I was craving poke and remembered this place. I decided to build my own bowl. I got double protein spicy salmon and salmon. Most of the toppings and the ponzu and sriracha mayo sauce. The bowl was a good size and they gave me a good amount of meat. Service was fast when I went during dinner time. The place feels like a small shop. The poke bowl was enjoyable and I finished it fast! Not bad for a small local business! Have been to this location numerous times and always have a pleasant experience. If you're looking for something quick and fresh, this def a go too place. Different variety of Pokè Bowls with an option to create your own. Unlimited topping options and very nicely priced. Very clean inside and a couple of seating options inside. My daughter bought a Boba tea they had in a can, and when the manager saw she got that, he said, "Not good!" And actually made her a fresh Boba tea, which she truly appreciated and stated tasted better, of course. Def. It's a go-to spot and super close to us. read more

I just returned from Hawaii, Honolulu to be exact, and of course I was still on a poke bowl obsession. While Poke Honolulu had very fresh ingredients, I found the price to be high for what they deliver on. The sauces didn't pack much of a punch either. I built my own bowl with ahi and salmon for protein, there wasn't very much of it, certainly not the heaping mound in an authentic Honolulu bowl. I added various veggies which provided much needed flavor as the ponzu and oog sauces I selected seemed nonexistent. I also had the seaweed salad, and this was good, but I was shocked to see that half of my seaweed salad was actually sliced cucumber. The portion was already small, which would have been just fine if it was all seaweed salad. I got my fix, but was also disappointed, there was so much potential. read more

Delicious huge portion great price I loved their salmon bowl and I recommend creating your bowl in person. I did a pick up order and even though Grubhub says they bring it to your car, that is not true. Did not get to notice the ambiance. read more

It was my first time here and I've seen in a couple of times in passing. It's a cozy and small place to enjoy some poke bowls. I got the Kamano signature bowl since it had all of my favorite things in a poke bowl, but also why not try a signature bowl first? The ingredients tastes fresh and flavorful. Yuuuuuummy!!!! I havent had poke since moving from miami and i can honestly say ive found my poke spot!! Everything is really fresh and its a good portion size except for the protein. Great, fresh food and quick service is what this place is all about. I like the fact that when you walk in you have your food in about two minutes after walking in however, I wish they would give a little more fish when making the bowls. I ordered the spicy salmon and I think I got about five, maybe six, chunks of salmon. My wife and son ordered bowls with different fish and they received the same amount. Other poke restaurants I've been to have given almost double what Poke Honolulu gave. Regardless, the food was great and tasted really fresh. I will definitely be back. read more

This place is another chipotle style ordering of food. You can get bowls that are suggested or customize your own. I got the Maui signature bowl. At first I thought they were very generous with the toppings inside. But then it got to the real deal - the fish. They barely gave any. They also drowned the bowl with sauce. The taste was not too bad actually however I could barely taste the fish. I tasted more rice and veggies. On top of that I wasn't full. My daughter and I just ate at Poke Honolulu this past Saturday (Jan 2023). The restaurant was very clean in appearance. We went at about 11 am, and no one was there yet. From the start we knew we were going to get create you own bowls. My daughter loves sushi, so I told her it's basically a sushi bowl. I think she wanted to play it safe, so she got sushi rice and teriyaki chicken, she added edamame, jalapeño, artificial crab, and masago, and she topped it with eel sauce. She loved it. She ate about half (didn't want to eat too much, because she had her second soccer match of the day in a couple hours), but later on she finished the rest. I ordered a poke bowl with spicy tuna and ika salad. I topped my bowl with edamame, jalapeño, masago, avocado, and nori. I loved it and actually would have gone back there the following day had we been able to. I wish I had one of these where we live so we could make it a staple. The service of the gentleman who served us was perfect. He explained what a few of the sauces were so that we knew we were making good choices. read more

If you like sushi, this is a great place to try out! So nice to find a poke place in this part of Matthews. On top of that, the food and the service is excellent. A great place for a date, since they have a nice sitting area inside. I always recommend adding the seaweed salad to your bowl, and to try various sauces that they offer there. The food is great, and they even have a small selection of asian soda, which is always a nice treat. read more

I would give this place 11 stars if I could! Legit the freshest salmon I've found, for absolutely the best value. I've lived in NC for a year and once I found this place via Doordash it instantly became a weekly treat. Plus it's healthy and I can make it last at least 2 meals if I can hold myself back from inhaling it all because it is just that good!!! I've served sushi to Emeril, literally watched our sushi chef make sushi out of a tuna the owner had just caught, and this food has literally given me some sort of happiness buzz every time I've enjoyed it for nearly 20 years. If you're upset with what you're getting it's because you don't know what you're doing. Sorry not sorry, this place is the best. AND they have mochi ice cream - it honestly could not get any better. This is my favorite thing and the genuine smile on both people I've seen behind the counter absolutely makes my day. (PS. Trying to like this place, but i have been there 3 times & their servings of Kamano is always different & lame size. For ex. This is my absolute favorite place to go to get poke. I travel from Huntersville because the food is so good and the service is top tier. The food is very affordable, and they have a great selection of Asian beverages and desserts. If you're ever in the Matthews area, I highly recommend trying this restaurant. read more

Wow! What a nice surprise! This was some of the best poke I've ever had. I just happened to be in the shopping center and thought I would give it a try and boy I'm glad I did. All the toppings, including the fish, were super fresh and they have about every topping you could imagine. The place is super clean and the customer service was great. Highly recommend! Portion sizes are the worst I've seen for poké. I've never been to a place where they only offer one protein instead of the standard two. The flavors were good, but I will not return for a $13 bowl with 10 pieces of salmon. Standard sides such as seaweed salad, mango, etc, are all extra costs. You can get the same bang for your buck at Kroger, Publix, or any grocery store selling poke bowls. read more

He defended the employee, told me she "did nothing wrong," and completely dismissed my frustration with a "have a nice evening." The issue wasn't just the wait. It was being skipped over and then treated like my frustration didn't matter. I've been there around 5 times in the last month, but after this experience, I will never return.

My wife & I are visiting our daughter who lives in Matthew's & wanted sushi. Driving back from apple picking in Hendersonville I saw a new Poke' shop sign & we decided to go back to the house, put the Clemson game on & order 3 bowls. The bowls were excellent, the quality of the tuna & salmon top notch grade #1, & the portions were excellent. We will be ordering bowls every time we come up to N.C. ps. Oh so good! I was so excited to find this place today and it did not disappoint. Super nice staff and lots of options to build your own bowl, as well as some already put together combinations.
