This was a new spot for me and I was definitely impressed. Although the line during lunch may look intimidating it moves fast. Creating your own bowl is the way to go. I chose tuna and shrimp and rice and greens, with some additions. The tuna and shrimp were both cooked well and I love the seaweed salad I added. I did half rice half greens and I personally would have liked more greens. Overall, I really enjoyed and will be back for a gran and go healthier lunch! read more

An uptown must try if you are craving sushi/poke bowl! You can expect to pay $15 for a regular bowl, depending on what you get. They load up your bowl with various toppings to choose from. I love that this place gives you chunks of fish, compared to smaller pieces at other places I've tried. Beware - this place gets packed for lunch time! If you are on a time crunch, placing an online order pick up is fairly easy. Every time I have done so, my bowl is ready to picked up on the counter. They are very fast and efficient! read more

I recently moved into a building close by for work and have gotten the chance to get lunch in Latta Arcade several times since then. Ohana Poke has quickly become one of my go to spots. It does get busy right at noon, but you can also order online and pickup to beat the line. I love how fresh their ingredients are and the variety of combinations you can make. I've ordered from the crafted combinations they have, but more recently have been building my own. One point of caution if you don't like heat - the jalapeños are freshly cut rings and can be a big punch of heat depending on the size. I do wish they would cut them down a little more to make it easier to mix into the bowl and get heat throughout. TLDR: highly recommend for a quick, fresh lunch! read more

The fish was fresh and tender, the bowl was obviously VERY freshly made... I cannot overstate how GOOD the Poke is at Ohana Poke! I am SO glad they survived the 2020/2021 debacle... They have the best poke around by far. I eat here probably twice a week and they are unmatched in taste, portions, and price. Not only that, they are fast. Stopped in here for lunch since the line was long for sushi at another place. I was telling a friend how I was craving poke and we wandered into Latta Arcade and boom, Ohana Poke appeared. Win! You can choose a bowl or build your own. I built my own. First you start with a size, regular(16oz) for about $10 or large (32 oz) for about $12. You can choose white rice, brown rice, mixed greens or two things. I went with a regular size and brown rice and mixed greens. You can choose your protein which is marinated ahi tuna, salmon or tofu. They also have a plain cooked shrimp option. Then there's a bunch of toppings. I got scallions, rice seasoning, jalapenos, cucumber, sweet onion, edamame and I sprung for the $1 avacado. The only extra cost toppings are the seaweed and avacado. And the avacado is half of an avacado. I saw them slice it while I was waiting. Well worth it!. They have a bunch of sauces. I did the ponzu, spicy aoioli, and eel sauce. Once you got through the line, the food was pretty fast. The line was out the door to order. They were giving out complimentary beverages today which was a plus. The only thing I disliked was that it was really warm inside of Latta Arcade making the restaurant warm. I felt like I was going to pass out, but that probably wasn't their fault. Also, this is more of an in and out type of place. There's maybe a couple of tables in the hallway if no one else is sitting there. The food was delicious and hit the spot. The veggies were crisp and fresh. The tuna was on point and full of flavor and rice was cooked perfectly. The sauces, especially the spicy aoioli added a creaminess that paired well with the marinade. I love love love Ohana Poke tremendously. The lowdown: FOOD (5/5) You get a choice of rice or salad as your base, and two sides - regular and a large. The regular is plenty of food for me, so that's what I usually opt for. You get unlimited toppings and your choice of two proteins. I usually go for salmon and tuna, both of which are marinated PERFECTLY. That beautiful umami soy flavor you're looking for in poke? Excellent. SERVICE (5/5) You order at a counter and can watch them prepare you food. This is a take out place only, but they're extremely expedient, especially in the pre COVID lunch rush. Post COVID, I would always purposefully walk 15 minutes to pick up lunch to support them because a world without Ohana Poke is a world I don't wish to continue in! Please support them! This is hands down one of the best lunches I've ever eaten in Uptown Charlotte. It was my first time trying a Poke Bowl... it's kind of like a giant, deconstructed sushi roll, but my god... so good. I had tuna, with white rice and got the "heat bowl." I pretty much inhaled that thing. So damn good. And the price is very reasonable for what it is... I paid like $12 for this, which is on par with everything else in town. I would absolutely come back here and highly recommend it to anyone in search of good food. read more

Delicious, quick and filling poke bowl! I got the salmon bowl with all of the toppings. I didn't love how the salmon was pre-marinated in a soy or teriyaki sauce. However, the toppings were all delicious and make for a crunchy bowl. The ingredients were fresh and beautifully presented. This is hard to find if you are new to the area. It's in an arcade. On Church Street there is an old outdoor alley full of bars, it's at the end but inside. You can find it from Tryon too but parking is tough. The Poke is very good. If you ask for "rice seasoning" it has the crunchy garlic and flakes & black sesame seeds all in one. Highly recommend. The Ahi Tuna is cubed and so is the salmon. The way I like it. I know my Poké....this is not going to disappoint. Everything was fresh. Worth the upsize if hungry. Very good choice. This is probably the closet to authentic Hawaiian poke I've found in Charlotte, but the prices are crazy high. For two really small bowls it was $25. I highly recommend getting the large because my husband and I were still hungry after. The tuna is in nice big chunks and they have an array of toppings. Adding on avocado or seaweed salad is an extra charge, but they do give you half an avocado. The rice is hot instead of cold, if that's something you don't like. Convenient location right inside Latta Arcade, and I went around 11:45am with only one person in line ahead of us. We will probably give it another try with the large bowls, but it is too costly to be in the regular lunch rotation. read more

I've had Poke Bowls in Hawaii so my bar was set high when I decided to give Ohana Poke a try. Well...it was just as good as the bowls in Hawaii! I ordered the Hawaii bowl without sweet onion (not a fan of raw onion) on greens with Tuna and it was seriously delicious! All the ingredients were very fresh. The texture and taste of the tuna were perfect and the greens were nice and crisp. Next time I will add avocado and spicy aioli to kick it up another notch. Working in downtown Charlotte this place is a must! I don't care for cucumbers but whatever they do to their cucumbers is spot on, the best I've ever had. The staff is always super friendly, quick, and nice. Getting the Ohana bowl with two types of protein is the way to go. The cooked shrimp is a must and the salmon at first seemed a little off, but I believe it's the sauce that made it look darker than usual salmon. Overall 10/10 , keep it up and you got my money. read more
