First te trying this place. Overall enjoyed the poke experience since they have different options. I like the cleanliness & ambiance inside the restaurant. The fish was fresh & their sauces were flavorful!

Well package, stuffed to the top

Giving a 5 star because 4 is not enough. But solid 4.5. Quick, healthy, lots of choices. If you're looking for a quick stop, healthy lunch, and you love pokey, you'll like pokey house in San Mateo. Solid portions. Great available add-ons. Not necessary place you want to sit and eat as it's more quick stop spot, but it was perfect for me as I needed a late lunch and wanted a Poké bowl. The To-go packaging was solid. Portions were large. Enjoy!

I ordered delivery from here almost every night of my trip, because it was just that delicious! My bowls were full of fresh, delicious ingredients and generous portions of toppings. I got the salmon, tuna, and shrimp proteins and they were all great. I also tried the miso soup once and it was warm, flavorful, and packed carefully with the container wrapped with Saran Wrap. Their service was also very efficient. They packed my orders quickly and correctly every time. I will definitely be ordering from here again when I am back in the area!

Poke House is the best chain for poke, hands down. They always nail my order, and I don't see a large discrepancy in portions when I Doordash versus when I go in store and order. There is a lot of indoor seating and they keep the interior incredibly clean. I honestly have more points there than I can count on both hands, it's the perfect spot for a go-to healthy meal if you're not sure what you're craving for lunch or dinner! Workers are very friendly and get out orders very quick as well. Great establishment overall!

Anytime I'm in the area I stop by Poke House. I always build my own bowl, Ahi Tuna, and Garlic oyster Tuna for protein, topped with edamame, green onion, tomatoes, Masago and cucumbers. I get the Ponzu sauce, topped with crispy onion. Everythinig tasted fresh and was delicious as always. Definitely would recommend giving them a try if your in the mood for a good Poke bowl.

I've been to Poke House many times at different locations and what I like about them is they're consistent and their portions are generous. The only thing I'd change is the way they cut the fish. The pieces are pretty big and I personally prefer smaller cuts. I like that they offer zucchini noodles as a base. I usually do half zucchini noodles and half mixed greens. My go-to proteins are ahi tuna and spicy tuna. For sauce, I always go with their house chili. It's their spiciest option and it definitely brings the heat, which I love. I also have them drizzle sriracha aioli on top to finish it off. Another small touch I appreciate is they have a water station where you can help yourself to complimentary water, which is nice especially if you go heavy on the spice like I do. This location is in a nice plaza and the space itself is clean. Parking can be a little tricky since the lot is shared with Whole Foods, Crunch, other restaurants, and a big apartment community. Overall, solid poke spot with good portions.

Small build your own bowl with two scoops of protein, charged $16.49 plus tax though posted price is $15.70 (1/6/26)

I went to Poke House for lunch during the first week of 2026. Luckily there was no line and I was able to order right away. I've been to this location many times and I enjoy their zucchini noodles since not many poke spots offer them as a base for their bowls. Their protein offerings are okay and I like being able to add all the various toppings and sauces. Of note, Poke House charges extra for seaweed salad and avocado, though some other poke restaurants include these in the base charge. I created a small build your own bowl with the protein and topping selections of my choice. Everything was going well until I was about to complete my transaction. After I tapped my credit card, I asked the staff at the register why I was being charged $18.08 for my small bowl when the posted menu price was $15.70 (plus tax). I was told the prices "were recently increased" though there were no signs or postings indicating this; some businesses at least put handwritten prices to cover the old prices but Poke House didn't even do that. Looking at my receipt, the price of a small build your own bowl is now $16.49 plus tax while the posted price is $15.70 plus tax. Although the price increase is not too dramatic, the principle of being transparent with pricing clearly was not a priority; it would've been nice if this price increase was communicated to me in some way before reaching the register or even before building my bowl. This makes me question Poke House's business practices since they are charging more than the posted prices. Aside from being charged more than the posted price, the quality of the bowl seemed to be lacking compared to past visits over the years. The fish did not taste fresh and the sauces were very watery; while consuming my bowl I noticed the bottom of the bowl looked like a bowl of soup. I get that zucchini noodles do not absorb sauce as well as rice, but the amount of "sauce soup" was concerning. I do not think a small bowl with only two scoops of mediocre protein is worth $16.49. At least the restaurant has a decent amount of clean seating inside to eat your poke bowl freshly made. Since Poke House seems to be okay with charging more than its posted prices without giving its customers a courtesy warning or notice, this left a bitter taste in my mouth and I'll consider other food options before deciding to eat at Poke House.

Wow. The simplest of orders and they still got it wrong. No one in there. No one waiting. No one walking in as I wait for my order. They forgot the crab salad? Come on! This is the simplest order of all time. So disappointing. I hate leaving bad reviews but this was pathetic. 6 months later and I'm still annoyed. So I'm writing the review. Yes, they heard about it the next time I took my kid to Chipotle. No I didn't place another order at Poke House. The tuna quality and the octopus quality was acceptable - not sit down restaurant quality but quick to go meal yes - if they put everything in the darn bowl. Never. Again.

Food arrived with bag open and sauce all over two entrees - a mess. One entree was wrapped in plastic wrap, the other had a lid. Called Poke House and the woman immediately said this is the delivery company's issue. I pressured her for the manager; she said they were out of the office. I pushed back and gave her my name and phone number. No call back from Poke House. She needs to understand that blaming your delivery partner without the facts reflects badly on her, the manager and Poke House. Fortunately, the delivery company provided support and empathy. The delivery company called me back to apologize. I am not sure where the delivery was compromised. In addition to the delivery issue, food quality for chicken entree bowl was poor, tasteless and chewy, like left out too long. We used to enjoy Poke House food. Sad to experience bad customer service from Poke House.

This review is long overdue, but I highly recommend Poke House and specifically this location! My fiancé has a gluten allergy and they definitely take that seriously here! The staff was knowledgeable and wonderful! It's clean inside and the vibes are good! Also, they are super conscious of other allergens as well. I ordered a medium poke bowl with tofu as my protein. I got corn, edamame, cucumber and pickled ginger to name a few toppings. The sauces I chose were the sriracha aioli and ponzu. The flavor combo was bomb and I'd get it again. Just a warning that the sriracha aioli is actually pretty spicy!!! We love this spot and will definitely be coming back!

Solid spot for poke if you're in San Mateo! I only ever ordered the spicy salmon poke bowl here and it was delicious. The chunks of salmon that they give you is pretty generous. The size of it is pretty big and you can easily tell that it's a fresh cut from the fish too. They mix it with veggies such as cucumbers, onions, and edamame, sprinkled with some furikake on top too. The sauce isn't overwhelming either which I appreciated. Nothing much else to add other than that this was a great choice to come to! I will definitely order from here again. It seems pretty pricey but it's pretty good for your penny here.

I was craving something on the healthier side and saw on Yelp that there was a Mendocino Farms a mile from where I was. I drove over there, spotted Poke House, and reconsidered. I like Mendocino Farms, but I thought to myself, "Why not try something new?" I've only eaten poke a few times in my life, and it seemed like as good a time as any to add to that number. Now, I'm sure there was a fair amount of sodium in my bowl, but it was definitely low carb compared to most take out choices I would have made. I'm giving four stars for the food and five for the service. Malia, the employee who took my order, was extremely patient while I asked questions about a number of the items on display. I ordered the large Build Your Own, which comes with four scoops of protein. If memory serves, I went with the spicy miso salmon, spicy tuna, garlic oyster tuna, and tofu. I chose the base of zucchini noodles, the free scoop of crab salad, got most of the free veggies and paid extra for the seaweed salad. It was such a huge portion - the bowl was overflowing! My order lasted multiple meals. I went to say thank-you again and good-bye before heading out, and Malia gave me a couple of extra sauce containers to go. I tipped Malia a couple dollars and I wish I had left more!

good portions, fresh fish, only thing is the white rice is very mushy. service was great, restaurant was clean and had only one table as i went on an off-hour. if i come back i would get a different base.

We ordered the ceviche ($21), papas bravas ($11), kale salad ($17), salmon ($35), and seafood pasta ($34). The ceviche was fresh and I really liked the citrusy notes (it was quite tropical and I thought it was possibly passionfruit?). The papas bravas was a decent sized serving and came with an addictive sauce. The kale salad came with a piece of fried feta and the only fault I found with it... was that I wanted more fried feta bits! Salmon was cooked well, and I liked the accompanying veggies - seemed like a very healthy Mediterranean dish. The seafood pasta was also very good. Husband said the fish in his dish was cooked even better than mine. Lastly, they offered us a whole complimentary dessert. We were already beyond stuffed at that point, but who are we to turn down a coconut creme brulee? Another review said they couldn't taste the coconut, but it's definitely there. It's not overpowering, but it's a good balance.

Bahche is one of the rare exceptions. It has good ambiance, located in a nice area and has good service. The octopus starter and the lamb chops stood out to me. The only negative I felt were the prices. We landed up spending about $250 for three. That's what one would pay for an upscale steak house with great service -- Bahche was not that good. That's why I reduced the number of stars by 1.

I think there were communication issues. there was some mix up with the tables and throughout the night after that our orders kept getting mixed up with not just one but two other tables. So we would see our food from afar being held in front of a group of servers where they would have a conversation over our plates of food for a few minutes then go to other tables, and try to give it to other tables before it finally got to us. The staff explained there was a mixup and due to that all the orders continued getting mixed up during our meal, but there was no acknowledgment otherwise or an attempt to make things right. I think because the group tip is already mandatory, there was no incentive on their end, perhaps. The bus staff are pretty available and responsive but limited in what they were allowed to assist with and the server was hard to flag down. Anyway onto the food. The clams linguine was flavorful. The crab Alfredo pasta had a lot of crab which was a pleasant surprise but a little lacking in flavor and a little on the sweet side with cream and crab notes. Cioppino was better than expected. Oysters were good and an okay price. Key lime pie was decent. I think 3.5-4 stars for the food (probably 4 at the happy hour rates!), 2 for service. Ambiance is a bit weird. Like somewhat upscale with some decor and high ceilings but not in others. Worthwhile to return for happy hour and may update review then!

The restaurant was a little more than half full when we had dinner there on a Friday night and the ambiance is lively but not loud. The ceviches were bright, limey, and tart in the best way, the chicken wings were crispy and juicy, the papa rellena was especially interesting (almost like an inside-out, deep-fried baked potato) with olives and raisins that were a pleasant surprise, and the lomo saltado was as comforting and dependable as it usually is. To top it all off, they even offer Peruvian beers, which was the perfect way to wash everything down. The location is a little bit odd but easy enough to find and park (there is plenty of parking across the main street in front of the BevMo if there isn't any directly in front of the restaurant).

Potatoes, sausage, corn were the free add on that you can do. I do not eat crawfish, which was also a seafood pick, so I can't review that. Everything was good. The shrimp was hit and miss, depending on the piece. They were peel and eat, but some shrimps were mushy meaning those shrimps were old. It was tolerable. Nothing that I haven't had before. Really good ice cream you hand dip your self, and good kimchi. Not together. I usually refrain from one star reviews, otherwise it would be one star for this place

Wow. A new find. Hurrica is nestled amongst some new tech buildings and a nice size marina of…read moreyachts. The chef creates tapas with character and excellent presentation. The place is popular even on the Monday evening of our visit. We had: sea scallops, tuna sashimi, whole roasted Dorade, toasted bread pudding and espresso. I was impressed with the way these items all had their unique flavors and presentation without competing with the other items. Every course was a pleasant surprise. The restaurant has multiple rooms, each with a different flare, and a heated outdoor patio. We sat in the outside patio. When the sun started to go down they turned on the heaters. The patio can be closed with outdoor commercial tent material and clear windows when necessary. When you want great tapas give them a try.

My review is overdue and that makes me sad because this place is ah-MAH-zing! Let's hit the big 3:…read more Ambiance: wasn't sure about this one because it's kind of waterfront but we went at night before it stayed light later. That's ok, the inside is so gorgeous! The wall o' jellyfish makes me think of Waterbar in SF. I could literally watch those little guys all day (or night?). So cool! They also have a lot of whimsical sea themed decor which I quite enjoyed. So ambiance = excellent day or night. Food: unsurprisingly, the food was spectacular. Fresh shucked (like shucked when you order) scallops that were melt in your mouth delicious. Paired with the milk, bread, divine! Apparently, the milk bread is Steph and Ayesha Curry's fav, so do with that what you will. And oh my, cannot forget the onion rings with Wagyu beef fat powder! What a treat. For my main, I did the short ribs with kimchi fried rice, a substitution recommended by MeeSun. Delightful. The perfectly cooked meat, the salty, rich and savory flavors - I was in heaven! One of our party got the whole roasted Dorade, which MeeSun deboned for him tableside. Exquisite experience - chef's kiss! Good sized portions as well, we were all very full after that food. Honorable mention to the cocktails and gold star for the wine list, which feature many from the local regions. The manager recommended a wine to us from DuMOL (winery in Windsor) and we all loved it. Planning a trip out to the winery soon... Service: this was the stand out for us. From the moment we came in, we were made to feel so very special. Warmly welcomed and whisked to our table right away. Our server took drink orders promptly and brought things out quickly. We were never waiting to long nor did we feel rushed. Plus, MeeSun came to walk us through the menu, explaining items of interest in great detail and offering recommendations for each section. I thought she might have confused us for celebrities, but in talking to my brother in law who'd frequented this establishment a few weeks before, this is a service they provide to everyone. I LOVE a personal touch, and Hurrica and their staff went above and beyond in their department. It was my friend's birthday and they brought out a card for her signed by the staff! Wow! Cannot say enough good stuff Honda about Hurrica, and can't wait to come back for the food AND the experience!
