    Build your own bowl
    Leanne G.

Stopped by for a quick lunch. We were greeted by two kind and helpful servers. They walked us through the menu with the most popular options. We decided to build our own bowls. All of the ingredients were so fresh and delicious. I liked the sauces they offered - great variety! The add-ons were delicious, too. The one drawback is that there is no seating. You need to be prepared to take your food elsewhere.

Craving for reasonable alternative to Japanese sushi? Poke'd Out Fish Bar in San Carlos is where I go. This is the second time I've ordered from this place in two weeks! Ingredients are fresh and delicious with a lot of variety of toppings. Staff is friendly too.

Far exceeded my expectations. Was in the neighborhood to grab a cuppa at Groovy Goose, but saw this place across the street and couldn't resist checking it out. It is still take-out only, but there are 2-3 patio tables outside that I believe may be shared with the Starbucks next door. I ordered a large bowl (five scoops, I believe?) of four salmon and one mix salmon (mixed with slaw) scoops. They PACK those toppings, and the fish tasted super fresh. It's definitely closer to the Hawaiian poke I've eaten on O'ahu (more fish, less rice). For the amount of free toppings they offer and their portion sizes I think the price is more than fair. Delicious stuff, thanks and I'll be back soon!

Absolute deliciousness!!! I also tried their special poke sauce too. Very large serving size that works given the pricing. Solid customer service. Will be back again!!

Was in the area and really wanted food I could grab and go. Stopped by this local, new shop hoping to get something. Shop isn't too bog but neither are most poke places. It's a build your bowl type of place. The small was surprisingly generous and gave a lot of fish! They take your order and build it in front of you. Their spicy sauces were quite nice :) Their portion size is good and healthy. Honestly not much I can ding them on-l was very happy with a small's size compared to other place's large.

Food was amazing! House Ahi tuna was on point!! Not too salty and very fresh. Sauces were delicious, I got the poke and the unagi and they both gave great flavor with the shrimp and the rice. 10 out of 10 would recommend

Saw this place recently opened by my work so I stopped by for a quick grab and go lunch. Super small place so it's a take out only spot. They had premade poke options or create your own available. I opted to create my own small which is two scoops of fish so I picked just salmon since I was kinda disappointed that they didn't have yellowtail (hamachi). I picked my own sauces, fix ins and toppings. Was also bummed that seaweed salad cost extra which was a first for me at a poke spot and I was not about to pay for it either. The flavor of the sauces I selected for my salmon was really good and the salmon was so buttery. Pretty good spot for the San Carlos area though.

    Salad in poke bowl

I got a poke bowl with bad salad inside, when I tell the lady that worked there, all I hear was sorry about that and Thanks for letting us know. OK I will let you guys know - If your salad or other food went bad, don't serve to the customers! They didn't offer me a refund or a new bowl - I think that should be the least the can do.

Poked out has been my go to spot to get poke this year. Staff is always friendly and I like how generous the fish portions are. It's pretty quick to grab a bowl since there's usually only a short line. The only thing that would call out is that sometimes their rice isn't consistent and can be quite mushy. I also hope they start an online order form instead of having to go through uber eats.

Tasty but expensive. Poke'd Out is a takeout place with no seating inside or outside. I would advise that you place your order before arriving to pickup for easiest convenience. A medium custom bowl is $18 with 3 choices of protein. Their online menu is easy. Base is white or brown rice or spring mix. Your protein choices are standard. Their marinated fish selection is: maki salmon, which is kind of a citrus aioli, house ahi tuna, and spicy ahi. I went with their house sauce which is soy sauce based. You get a scoop of crab salad. Then you choose your toppings and I got: peppers, masago, mango, pickled radish, marinated edamame, and tofu medley. Then finished with a drizzle of extra spicy sauce and sprinkles of: crispy onions, garlic furikake, shredded Nori, crispy tempura, hot Cheetos, bubu arare (which is like rice crackers), and togarashi Service was really prompt. No wait to order. They were also nice and friendly. Helpful with questions about their sauces and options. The place is basically just a counter to order and take your food to go.

This is now my top poke places in the Bay! The portion sizes are huge and sooo worth it. The fish is so fresh and everything was so tasty. You can never go wrong with the poke here.

Craving a poke bowl. This place is close to my workplace, so I decided to give it a try. Lucky to score parking right in front. It's a small place with just one worker starting orders and another either placing finishing touches or ringing customers up. I was 6th in line when I arrived, and it took about 15-20 minutes before I was able to place my order. Might've been better to place online order. In any case, I ordered a medium bowl ($17.90) with mixed greens, ahi/salmon/tako with citrus ponzu, spicy crab salad, mild aioli, and toppings. The greens and fish tasted fresh. Appreciated that it wasn't overly sauced like other poke bowls I've had - just right for me. At first, it may not look like much, but it was quite filling. There was enough poke and/or crab salad for every bite of greens. It definitely curbed that craving!

    Poke Your Own Bowl Large

I'm glad I ordered large poke bowl. Ordered it because of 4 protein options. They forgot to add corn, sesame seeds, tamago as ordered on DoorDash. As you can see it's not that big. Tasty though. Price is on the high side for amount of food. All in all it's very tasty and I'll order it again but would omit the taco, very chewy, and any marinated seafood again, too salty.

Easy peasy ponzu squeezy. For takeout only, but it's a good meal. Nice people will make your food if you're new to pokè.

We ordered a variety of dishes - Shaka Chicken, Saimin, Chicken Katsu Bowl, Mahi Mahi Tacos, and Mixed Plate. All were delicious! The icing on top was when we told the sweet hostess that it was my mom's birthday, and she said to definitely tell our server! After our yummy lunch, we were given a complimentary order of malasadas (yum!) and then Mom got a special ice cream cup with a huge sparkler candle and the entire restaurant sang to her! Noelani's was celebrating their 13th anniversary today, so we got free live musical entertainment (normally it's only on Friday and Saturday nights) by the talented Rick Rasay. Who then proceeded to serenade Mom by changing the words to one of the songs he sang! She felt so special! AND finally, as part of their 13th anniversary, Noelani's was giving out coupons to their paying customers for free shave ice from Paradise Shave Ice who put a pop-up outside their restaurant. So yummy! And they were so super nice too - will definitely keep them in mind for any shave ice catering needs! We don't visit this restaurant as we're down in the South Bay, but we definitely plan to visit them more often! Thanks for making my mom's day so wonderful! This was an especially bittersweet birthday, as it was the first one without my dad, but somehow I think he was smiling down at us and blessing us today!
