We got our first Polar Shade in 2015 and it is still in great shape. This month we had another installed to make partial enclosure for our covered patio. Bridget, the project manager helped us with the selection of what we needed and the crew, led by Willie did an excellent job with the final installation. He installed the electrical and his crew painted the weather proof electrical cable. They even did some minor repairs to our 16 year old Polar Shade. If you want to beat the heat here in Las Vegas I highly recommend Polar Shade for an excellent product and knowledgable and professional team. The fact that our original shade was still working after 16 years is a testament to the value of their product. read more

UPDATE: Polar Shades did come back and correct the issues, and I want to give credit where it's due. The installation team was extremely professional, explained exactly what had gone wrong, fixed everything, and cleaned up thoroughly afterward. I especially want to recognize Bridgette, our salesperson. She was kind, professional, followed up consistently, and genuinely made sure we were happy in the end. Honestly, if it weren't for Bridgette, we would have returned everything. Ultimately, the product is great and we are very happy with the finished result. Unfortunately, getting there came with a lot of unnecessary frustration. What still bothers me is that, to this day, I have not heard a single word from a manager or the owner. I've had a disappointing experience. The shades work and they look fine. But as an example, this week one of my shades (installed two years ago) would not go all the way down. I called Polar Shades and asked if there is a button on the remote that can help me reprogram the shades. They just asked if I wanted a service call. I said fine. They said we can get to you in a week and a half. I said that's too late -- I have a party this weekend. I'll find someone else. They found an earlier slot. Then when the guy came out, he pushed a combo of buttons, made the shade go all the way down, and it was fixed in 30 seconds. $120 service call. I complained loudly. They reduced it to $90. Customer service is lacking. April 10th installation finished and many issues unresolved. Asking for action every week now for almost 2 months and still no response from Polar Shades. They know the problems, but do not seem to be interested in honoring their one-year guarantee. Had a rep finally come out and fix a few things on July 1st. It is very unfortunate that it has come to this. I purchased a $9,000 power awning from them in the Fall of 2024. I was directed to an independent Dealer referred by Polar Shades themselves. I have been having intermittent issues with the awning and finally decided it was time to address them. I contacted Polar Shades and they referred me to either the Remote hardware co. they use, or the independent Dealer they referred. No help in solving my issue. I explained to both their Vegas and Phoenix locations I was willing to pay out of pocket if they would just send out a Service crew. To this date they have blown me off !!! Keep in mind the problem is most likely a programing issue and most likely covered under warrantee. They won.t even offer an outside service firm name that I could hire to hopefully fix the problem. it's been 5 years since my original installation. I had issues with shade going up & also getting stuck so it's time for a service call, it was late in the day and I left a message, they called me next morning & we set up a service call fooling day for am. They called me 30 minutes before arriving. The 3 service men showed up & couldn't ask for nicer people as it was an easy fix. We had them construct a patio cover with fake stucco columns to match the house. Steve and his crew not only delivered more than what was promised, they cleaned up absolutely everything. A little over 1 year with the new awning and one of the arms malfunctioned. After going back and forth with the Polar Shades we were told that KE Awning would not cover this under warranty. With no options we asked that the arm be replaced at our expense. 3 months later they came to replace the arm only to have the incorrect piece. About a month later they showed up with the correct arm and made the repairs. We then reached out to KE only to find that Polar Shades never contacted them about a warranty claim. KE worked with us to try to engage Polar Shades but had no success in having them call us or KE back. There are many "shade" companies out there and I would caution anyone from using Polar Shades. This is not only a very poor business practice it is fraud. They might seem like a good option when purchasing but they do not appear to care about the customer experience once the shade has been installed. read more

After having temporaries on my windows for nearly 2 years, I finally decided on Polar Shades. There is actually quite a bit of sun and I wanted something durable, yet still nice. The color I chose was a white with shimmer. I love that it's muted and blends in with the neutral tones in my home. Chris was my rep who came out, measured perfectly, and was very patient in my decision making process. For the dining and living areas, I selected light filtering. Whereas for the master bedroom, I chose blackout with tracks - great choice because it is so dark I can nap during the day. Communication was straightforward, pricing was reasonable considering it's custom and I selected a more unique color. When it came time to install, it was very easy to schedule, and Malcolm reached out when he was on his way. The entire install was seamless and he could adjust items as needed in the work van. I'm so pleased with the perfect fit and I just love the battery powered motors with remotes. They are so quiet! We bought our condo with existing battery operated remote controlled shades. One day one shade quit working after I changed out batteries. I called and a repair guy was sent out and I was warned how much a new motor would be. Imagine my surprise when the repair guy arrived and didn't automatically put in a new motor. Turned out the remote simply needed RE-set. What a money saver! I have friends who have had shades installed by Polar Shades and they are beautiful. Ours were $11,000.00+ and were installed poorly. We have had multiple visits to try to correct. Each time the new installers blame it on the previous installer who is "no longer with the company"! Each visit at a cost of $90.00 to "adjust" them and to be told "it's the best we can do, it's the way they were originally installed that's the problem". One screen was completely replaced under the warranty and works great now, but it took 5 months to get it replaced. Now we have another with the same problem and another $90.00 to come and attempt to fix it. Why can't they just fix it the first time!! read more

I was referred to Polar shades by Vertilux Roller Shades the manufacture of my Roller Shades. Polar Shades is an authorized dealer for Vertilux. I need a charging cable for my Vertilux Roller Shades. I called to order the cable from Polar Shades only to be told they do not sell to non customers? Really how do they sell anything if they do not sell to non customers? I have had my Polar Shade for about nine months and I love it! The shade is on the opening in my patio wall and affords me great privacy, and a sense of security, as well as protection from the blazing sun of the afternoon. My power bill for the past 30 days was only $62.60! And we had record breaking high temperatures during that period! I think that's amazing! I dealt with Josh. Horrific Customer Service - BEWARE I purchased a polar shade in November 2014. The motor went out in June of 2018. We have called this company more than 30 times to try to get them to honor their product. We consistently leave messages with the receptionist, NO ONE is ever available, and they don't ever follow through on what they say. Just read the other Yelp reviews and you will see the consistency of their service. We have personally spent the last almost 3 months trying to get a replacement motor that's covered UNDER WARRANTY, this company doesn't care. We have spent over $500.00 of our own money getting the motor taken out and shipped, only to have the company send back the same motor still broken and not fixed. We have been trying to get someone to help us get a new motor so we can use our polar shade (we have missed almost the whole summer now) no one calls back, Sharon who is one of the bosses there, never helps, never holds a promise etc. This company is a joke. The owner will also not call you, they know they are wrong! We have called over 35 times and have had exactly 3 calls back, never when promised, always during the times you tell them you aren't available. The other employee's you speak to feel bad for you, but they all say the same thing, I am sorry I can't help you, I have talked to my boss sorry. I would be embarrassed if this was my company!!!! Shame on you! ***UPDATE 9-27-18*** Finally the owner called me on 9-13-18 to let me know the motor is fine and the technician that installed the motor doesn't know what he is doing (only been installing these for over 20 years). He wanted to speak to the installer, we had the installer call, took them 4 days to connect. Finally once they did POLAR SHADES realized the motor was in fact broken!!!! On 9-20-2018 - Company called me to let me know they were shipping out a new motor to us on Monday, I have called them all week, nothing has been shipped as of yet. No one will take your call, I leave messages every time and no one will call you back, again this is a JOKE of a company!!! On 07/09/2019 Josh came to my house to give an estimate he was 15 minutes early when the guard gate called. When I went downstairs to open the door, he stayed outside talking on his phone for 10 minutes. When he finally came to the front door he had did not have booties so I gave him a pair to use. We went to my balcony and he made measurements. I asked him to see pictures of the roof mount he wanted to do and he said he had no pictures on that type of installation with him. He said when he returned back to the office he would send me pictures and my estimate. While he was here he never showed me hardware, materials, or which unit I wanted or anything. He was gone in 10 minutes. It's been 7 days never received my pictures of the roof mount or an estimate. Since this time I have had Clear View, and All Pro give me estimates. Both of this companies did not have me waiting once they came through my guard gate. They both took measurements explained the installations, showed me different materials, build quality, hardware, and gave me an written estimate. They both spent between 30 and 45 minutes here answering any questions I might have had. Polar shades is consistent with there bad reviews and I would never use them. Also, the the next day All Season Screen doors came to my house to install retractable screen doors. I told the guy that I did not call them and Josh from Polar Shades was here yesterday. The guy said they work out of the same building. I then told him again I did not authorize this and Josh never called me back like he said he would yesterday. Since the guy was here I asked to see the product. The model he showed me did not operate properly and the screen door hardware was cheap and inferior to Clear View retractable screen. I told him sorry but, I could not use this product on my house. Also, after reading the reviews on Yelp, they were consistent with what I was experiencing now. read more

I'm disappointed in polar shades/retractable and the material they offer. I wish I knew now what I didn't know then. The sales guy spews a good pitch by telling you how great their material is, the best in fact, ok I won't say it's the best, but it's not the worse. What's bad is once you purchase your blinds as I purchased the motorized blinds. I needed them to be adjusted because they were rolling up crooked. They wanted to charge me $60 to come out and adjust them when they had just installed them. They give you ZERO warranty. That's disappointment number 1. Disappointment number 2 is that I also had the retractable screen door installed as well on my glass door. The product is CHEAP!!! The material is flimsy and just overall a terrible product due to the cheap material and awful design. I DON'T recommend this company at all. I will have to have these two items replaced by a better product that has a warranty...gee at least for adjustments, and also and most of all better design and much better Material. I give them a ZERO!!!! There was a guy that responded to my message. First of all I don't live in California. I did but been here in Henderson now for 3 yrs. I think I know where I bought my shades and retractable screen from. I bought from Polar shades on 520 E Sunset rd in Henderson NV. Brett was my sales guy. As I said. Terrible customer service and products. I know you say your the number one, but I'm not sure who is rating your company. I think people need to buy the products so they can see for themselves. We have had 1% solar shades for two years now. I still love them. It is so nice to be able to roll up the shades and see my beautiful swimming pool. Solar screens force you to look through screen all the time. The guys went out of their way to be sure everything was perfect. We have electric blinds that are supposed to be guaranteed for 10 years. Here is the problem, it takes them 3 to 4 weeks to come make repairs. This means we sit in the dark until they get around to do our repairs. The guy who schedules is numb and could care a less that we are in the dark. He wont even send someone to lift the shades so we can see out. Extremely disappointed in the service. read more

Ordered shades for my downstairs living room and upstairs bedroom. I spoke with John on the phone originally he was very professional and polite and extremely knowledgeable about what I needed as I wasn't sure about the products. A woman came out and gave me a quote and a few months later Matt and some other young man installed the products with no issues and explained how they worked. Matt was extremely helpful and patient with me as I'm older and had trouble with how the remotes works. Crap product. Seriously reconsider using their double door screen application. Product continues to fall apart. After repeated issues I'm not going to pay upwards of $275 for a technician to come out and fix this crap screen door. I ended up ripping it out and found another company who builds a much more solid screen for a double door at the same price of $595. ***UPDATE in response to Steve M. of Polar Shades. Get your facts right before responding to a customer comment. I don't have dog(s) I have ONE dog who that is old and is not the issue here. The first time polar shades came out was not due to my dog nor a torn screen from the used screen side. It was the other non-used side that was not working properly. I offered to pay and the technician said no the first time they came out. The second time was for a torn screen on the more used side. The issue here is where the plastic that connects to the screen and metal together rips easily off. Very cheap product doesn't take much pressure to tear. I'm very anal at taking care of my stuff and especially my house. I followed all home owner customer care guidelines for this product by polar shades. Bottom line, it's a crappy product. Maybe they make a better outdoor drop down shade than screen doors. Wouldn't know and don't care to know. read more

After checking with other companies, Teri from Polar Shade came out and gave us a bid. We liked her attitude, the products they use and the price was very fair so we went with Polar Shade. Best decision we could have made! Installers did an amazing job, were on time as scheduled and made sure they cleaned everything up and left no mess. The shade is wonderful...blocks 95% of the sun (and reduces heat) and we are now enjoying our patio for many more hours than we ever thought possible in the summer heat! We had a solar shade installed on a large window in our home to prevent the sun from melting our synthetic grass. The owner, Catherine, was great to deal with and made sure everything went smoothly.
