Today my husband and I showed up right on time for our 4:00 appointment. It was a slow start for anyone to come to check us in or acknowledge us. We were sat in a pedicure chair. We sat for 20 minutes. No one said a word. We watched the progress of the other customers and we could see it wouldn't be any time soon that we'd get service. So we dried our feet off and left. They didn't seem to care. We had an appointment. If you don't have enough staff to cover walk ins and appointments don't take the walk ins. We had been to this location numerous times. We both always get deluxe pedicures and many times I get my nails done with regular polish so I don't ruin my nail bed. We never had a problem before. Their lackadaisical attitude was pitiful. We won't be back. With so many options out there I wouldn't waste your time or money here. It stinks that I had to go home and do my own nails before a vacation. This is the best polished bar that I have been to in Charlotte. The staff and friendly and entertaining. They offer you beverages and my nails look good afterwards. They have plenty of parking in their shared space. Bathrooms are clean and there are several polish options. They have hip music playing. They are super busy on Sundays so skip this place as you will have a wait. Hope this helps! read more

Not so wild about this place. The more times I go, the less I am liking it and will probably not be back. So at first I went to get my nails done and was pleased with the results. As time went on, my nails quickly fell apart, cracking and coming off easily. I went for a pedicure and they do not put liners in the sinks. Why? I think that's extremely unsanitary. The tools used were also not in packages or sealed in any way. I think they should really take time to fix these issues. It just can't be safe. It worried me a lot. And then the lady who did my pedicure was rude and don't smile or speak at all. She cut up skin on my big toe causing it to be rough and broken when previously it was smooth with no callus or breaks. That was weeks ago and it's still broken skin! Not pleased. read more

I had an appointment at 4:45 and rushed to make sure I was here on time. It's now 5:25 and I am still sitting with my feet in the water, that is now cold. They keep telling me a couple minutes. If I didn't have something first thing in the morning I would have walked out already. Really poor customer service and no respect. read more

While the pedicure was great I definitely won't be back. The manicurists were kind but seemingly have not had much practice with SNS. Two out of three people in our party ended up with cuts on our cuticles and they used a gel topcoat on SNS which ended up not smooth and not shiny and means I had to put my fingers in an LED which is the entire reason I didn't want gel. One set of nails are just horrible and will need to be completely redone once they heal. If you're getting a pedicure it's fine, but don't be fooled by the look of the place, they did a very subpar job on the manicure. read more

I had a mani pedi appointment, and upon arrival, was put in a chair with warm water and sat there for 35 minutes. No contact was made with me until the nail tech came over, no apology for the long wait, and did not even check the water. I had a Basic mani and pedi, and it was the shortest service I have ever had. I was finished in 45 minutes for both services. I have two hangnails after the manicure. Literally does not even feel like I had a mani pedi. The location should have a luxurious feel, but it was not at all, nor was the staff welcoming or attentive. $55 plus tip was a complete ripoff. *I didn't get a service.* I'm newer to the area so still looking for a go-to nail salon. This was my first time trying Polished in Waverly. I called ahead for a fill and was told to come in. I arrive around 5 minutes later and was directed to wash my hands and sit at a station. I sat. Sat some more. Paid some bills. Checked my email. Etc. I waited for like 10 minutes with no one saying a thing to me regarding a wait time or a "be with you in a moment", even though several techs passed by me or looked right at me. This happened to me at another place across the street so wondering if it's common for places to have you waiting without acknowledging you. Especially during COVID, no one wants to sit inside a business longer than they have to wearing a mask. Instead of sitting there any longer and not being acknowledged as a waiting and potentially paying customer, I left. NOTE: I noticed people paying in cash. While I waited, I searched on Yelp & saw that they only take cash tips. Apparently they have an ATM but it's nice to know before you go so you can be prepared. read more

From charging an additional $10 to remove the current sns polish (I'm not even sure how that makes sense?) to replace it with a new color to arguing with me over putting gel on top of the sns, then grabbing a different color, and then still having to put a gel on top of the sns because she grabbed the wrong color... just horrible customer service all the way around. Sam and Katie have always managed well to greet me and ensure I know what is next in terms of wait and where to go. Today I was in and the new front desk man was unfriendly and off-putting. Hip? Posh? Boujie? How about subpar, uncomfortable and low quality? Pedi and mani chairs are super uncomfortable. No massage in the pedi chair, no plastic liners used. The mani counter has high, uncushioned bar stools, which may work for super tall people, but cut into the hamstrings of shorter people. When they first opened I was coming in for SNS and pedis regularly. Spent some time traveling extensively and stopped getting SNS for months. When I went back a month or so ago, the entire staff had changed, and not for the better. My nail tech did a halfway decent rush job on my SNS on natural nails. I was working with some very short nails and just wanted them covered up so they could start growing again. Mission accomplished. Hubs had to wait for me so complied with getting a service which turned out to be just about the worst mani ever. She didn't cut his nails short (what gigantic man wants long nails?) and barely cleaned up the cuticles. He had to ask her to cut his nails again. No massage whatsoever - all she could talk about was how she hasn't been sleeping and how tired she was. Yeah for us! Lol Long story short: there are too many other options to be patronizing a place with subpar service and uncomfortable seating. Moving on... I got these on Tuesday 11/20 at 11am and by 7pm the gel had started peeling off. It's now Thursday 11/22 and the gel has peeled off in one pull... Each nail is different size and shapes. I just don't recommend these places that are so not personable or even remotely good at nails??? They want to serve as much people as possible per day. I swear they make up the prices as they go? When looking at reviews I was kinda worried because I had made an appointment and didn't want to be disappointed.. but the service was good, the woman who did my nails was very sweet and gentle with my hands. I didn't catch her name, but I'd definitely ask her to do my nails again. The place was very clean and quiet there was minimal noise and it had music to make the experience calming. I would definitely come back but probably choose plain nails instead of design. It only took about an hour and I got seated right away. I wanted to try a new bail spot that was closer to my home, so I gave Polished a shot. I usually go to a nail salon 30 mins away from where I live, but on this particular day I was in a rush and needed the convenience of a location close by. Long story short, two days after getting my nails done, my fingernail bed started feeling tender. A week later my finger swell up around the cuticle. I remember the nail tech being very inattentive and aggressive with my nail, talking to another nail tech next to her. Anyhoo, I'm still fighting the finger infection weeks later. I went to my MD and she gave me a prescription to help clear the infection. In all the years that I have been getting manicures, I've NEVER had a finger nail infection. The ambiance and decor is nice in the salon, but in a service-based industry the SERVICE is the most important thing. I believe that some nail salons take their patrons for granted because the demand is so high for women who want take time out for self-care. When I walked in, the environment wasn't very welcoming at all. It was like "pick your color, sit there, what do you want". I most likely will not be returning. I had another chip today and that's what forced me to write this review. I spent way too much money to have 4 ruined nails after such a short time. In addition, I asked for a manicure multiple times and never received one. At the very end of the appointment the technician barely trimmed my cuticles & tried to tell me that's better for my nails-I'm sorry but that's not what I asked for as a customer and adds to my frustration. I received a gift card for Valentine's Day. I used last Saturday. 1 week and two days later this happened. Half of the dip fell off. My left hand is totally lifted at the cuticle. I called yesterday and they said I can come in today and have it fixed. I just want it removed. We will see if they offer to redo or provide another service. Very disappointed. Long story short he didn't put anything in between my toes so they kept messing up. He continued to just put a coat on top making them look clumpy. I kept waiting for this nail salon to open and that day finally came. I stopped in to give it a try and the young lady did a good job although lacked a little in the massaging and rushed thru (wasn't even busy. Went again and ended up having two people - one for pedi and one for nails. I don't care to have two separate people. So, I said ok will try again and surely get someone else, but I specially ask for someone who can do both. When I went back (which was my last attempt) I did get that someone else who could do all and her name is Nancy. She is the sweetest and does a fabulous job pedi/nails and eyebrows. Made a connection with her and will make sure I can get appt with her. So next time you are in ask for Nancy. My only feedback is that the music is unrecognizable and the nail chairs are way to uncomfortable. My back is killing me when I leave. Slumped the whole time. I love the location at Waverly! All the staff is wonderful and they all seem to enjoy their work and working with each other. I'm a new mom so I don't have a lot of time for myself.
