Shame on this people serving Burned chicken
    Belqui A.

Worst chicken ever!! I went there to get dinner for my kids everything was ok the lady said I have to wait 10 min for my chicken since I was getting 20 pieces so i said ok. The 10 minutes passed and she started to give out the orders she had before me and then she said my name but just to tell me I had to wait another 10 because she didn't have enough chicken to complete my order, this made me very upset because my kids were waiting and they were hungry. She gave the option to complete the order with grilled chicken at the beginning I hesitated a little bit because I wasn't sure if my kids were going to like it but since they were hungry I accepted. I giving 1 to 0 stars because when I came home and checked my chicken this is what I got. I cannot believe they gave me this chicken like this shame on this people this was my kids dinner Horrible horrible horrible pollo aguanoso y de paso QUEMADO.

I was at home watching TV and saw this amazing promo 20 pieces for $25 it seemed great to me. My family and me went to get that promotion. When we walked into the store and was my time to order I ask for that promotion and they told me I couldn't get it because they did not have any small pieces (legs and wings) they said they only had big pieces (breast). Then they offered me a combo of 12 pieces for $35 which is 8 pieces less and $10 more. It does not even make sense but whatever, we pay for it and when we got home we realized it was mostly legs and wings. After we ate we realized there was even one piece missing. This is by far the worst experience I've ever had in a pollo campero. In a summary $25 for 20 pieces became $35 per 11 pieces it is like $3 per piece and most of them were legs and wings after they said they had none.

Pollo Campero is a Guatemalan staple that is everywhere like McDonald's but it is better. I'm glad to see they opened up a location in Hyattsville and assume the demographics played a role in their site selection. The store is in a building that opened recently with Safeway and MedStar as anchor locations. Pollo Campero is in a corner spot that faces East West Hwy. I've uploaded a number of photos to show what it looks like. Both the exterior and interior are done well. I had meant to snap shots of my food but, well, I was hungry and picture taking wasn't my first priority. The food was good. We got combos of 2 pieces + empanada with sides of plantains and yucca. Also used a Yelp check-in for another empanada (so we could try 2 types and a new dessert one). Everything was tasty. I was used to a little crispier fried chicken when I was in Guatemala but it was still good here. Had both the grilled and fried and preferred the grilled chicken because of its moistness. The Latin Buffalo and Peruvian Verde empanadas were equally appetizing. The dessert Dulce de Leche empanada was fine (the bread was more crepe than empanada for, perhaps, obvious reasons). The sides were tasty, as well. Although better than a soda, the horchata drink was a little watery but it's made in a huge batch so I guess I can't be too picky. My gripes are minor. The menu is a bit difficult to navigate because of it's organization, variety of colors, and too many words. I had an idea of what I wanted based on a sign that was outside. It wasn't easy to figure out where that was located on the menu above the registers. It took me a minute or two jost to orient myself and figure everything out. The "to go" menus are a little better done but are still rather busy. I imagine the menu's layout was a contributing factor to another commenter's complaint about the slow line. When we went in, only 1 register was open and it took us a little bit of time to figure out what we wanted (and this happened even though I'm pretty familiar with the brand from Guatemala). A small wait assembled behind us but nothing bad. I could see it could get worse at peak hours. The line backed up a little while we were eating and there seemed to be plenty of employees in the restaurant. Might be a good idea to train at least one or two as substitute cashiers. That minor gripe didn't detract for me. The good thing is that the lady who was up front on the register was absolutely awesome. She was very friendly and familiar with all their options and great at describing things. She even steered us toward what we'd want. We spoke in Spanish the whole time so that might have helped a little. For a moment, I almost thought I was back down in warmer Guatemalan weather instead of here with near-freezing temps...

    Da 1.

I am usuAlly satisfied with my food from here but this time I tried something different and am so mad I did ......my chicken was RED in the center! Very disappointed in my chicken! Rice was AWESOME! Empanada was BOMB!

This my second time to eat in this resturant ' I ordered 6×6 and I found a hair on the piece of chicken that they gave it to me on a dish .

Sunday 2/9/25 This…read morespot was brought to my attention due to Instagram, and I made sure to plan my visit after realizing how close it was to my dad's house. I called to order pickup, and the service was nice and friendly. Also, the spot is very reliable, as it's open until midnight and roughly 16 hours of the day, serving many different options, from fast food to comfort food. I ordered the combo over rice ($13), the Philly cheesesteak combo with French fries and lemonade ($15.49), five wings with one waffle ($13.49), and a carrot cake slice ($4). - The fried chicken wings were alright for your typical fast food chicken. - Waffle was decent: it was soft & fluffy. - The combo over rice was solid, and I liked the chicken the most. - Philly cheesesteak was okay and would've been even better if it had provolone instead of the cheese whiz. - French fries were solid: they were crispy with some seasoning on them. - The house-made lemonade was alright, and I would be open to getting it again. - The carrot cake isn't anything crazy, it's alright, but I do appreciate the $4 price tag cause others would charge double or more for a slice. Overall, the spot does a good job with fair pricing, fast comfort food, and reliable hours. I'd come back and recommend.

That's pretty reasonable. Every dish was well prepared and nicely flavored. No mushy vegetables here. Yucca fries: not greasy, nice and crispy. Good with any of their dipping sauces. Fried rice: very tasty dish with hints of chicken. Black beans, really tender and nicely flavored. Broccoli: super delicious super food, done perfectly, not mushy and just the right amount of crunch. Green beans: such an easy dish and they nailed it. Plantains: who doesn't like a good fried plantain? These were awesome! And the cookie is a sweet deal too. Go for it. I wasn't surprised to see a large number of to go orders at their pick up desk. The word is out on how great their food is here. Plenty of parking in their private lot on Baltimore road.

I have always preferred this location. Results across locations has been inconsistent for years…read more This time in Beltsville I ordered two have chicken white. The guy who preps the chicken didn't hear me? Giving me only one half chicken white. Manager fixed things but it did mess up their process a bit. I had to make sure I got the correct second meal. The chicken was great. Moist just the way we like it. The string beans were not cooked properly even though they looked good. This happens too often. The sauces. First, we just don't get enough sauces as part of the meal. Second, I was making sure I got enough sauces this time and ordered my usual types. Apparently, yellow sauce is now considered to be honey mustard. I did get some of the great tasting amerillo sauce but also got honey mustard which elsewhere is usually just fine. This honey mustard is awful. Trying to be like everyone else is not what made Sardis a success. If you must have honey mustard sauce go get a batch from McDonalds or some other fast food in the area. It will taste better. Was not happy with this visit. Given how high the prices have gotten Sardis can't afford to go down hill any further. I'm sure I'll go back sometime. Hoping things get better. Three stars cause the chicken was great.

Good people when I tell you that the Fried chicken at this establishment is delectable...STAMP THAT!! On my initial review of this place, @janess_backstage_kitchen , I took a bite out of the Halal chicken, and waffle, (pictured-$12) and I gave it the Big Schlim grade of DELICIOUS!! So I finished the review, and started pushing. While pushing, I kept dipping into the container with the chicken in it, taking bites. I did this so much so, that I got viciously honked at while stopped at a green light. I crushed that meal before I arrived at my next destination...and I wasn't even hungry!! That's some good a** chicken my good folks...please believe me...it's officially STAMPED!! So this spot is a licensed, black owned, startup establishment that I decided to give some go too...I'm super happy that I did. With curbside service only, Janess's has a very simple menu that includes shrimp and grits (pictured $12), Belgian Waffles, Halal fried chicken, hand cut Zentachi fries, and a house made mumbo sauce chicken combo that comes with a Belgian waffle. That's it. For now!! I also ordered their shrimp and grits (pictured-$12), that came in a container with enough room to feed 3. It smelled good, but aesthetically it didn't look that great. I took a bite and seemed it DECENT. But once again, I pulled off and I kept dipping!! So this one is officially DELICIOUS!! The more, and more i dipped into these meals, the better they got!! Customer service was excellent (these are some truly kind hearted folks good people), and online ordering is easy. Now In order to perfect your meal, they take their time. So add 30 mins to your pick up time. Online ordering was simple, and parking was available. Good people...trust me on this one...get the chicken, be patient, and enjoy.
