Y'all have to do better this was my favorite place last two times I got food here it hasn't been fresh it's dry and like wood ...the point of your chicken is that it's flavorful and juicy not taste like a toothpick. Hopefully management will see this and train their employees better I know in this day and age getting people to work is hard but value the employees that are working and they will work better for you. I love Pollo Tropical, but this franchise is consistently the worst of those I frequent. They're always out of things. To make matters worse, their staff are unhelpful with menu questions when trying to navigate a menu and tracking multiple missing ingredients. Not recommended at all. Constantly left waiting for 30 minutes to 1 hour outside for almost every order, staff sometimes just doesn't make the order after giving name so I've have to call to receive a refund before. They close doors earlier than closing time for some reason so trying to even pick up an order in drive thru is time consuming. Gave it a second try and same outcome. My wife and I stopped in here for a quick lunch today. The building is brand new and beautiful. The lobby, restrooms, and salsa bar were squeaky clean. It's obvious that the crew is new and still finding their groove, but they did a pretty good job. I ordered a Tropichop with chicken, half rice, half lettuce, all the way. It was good, but they gave me all rice and they were skimpy on the chicken. My wife had a cesar wrap. It had no lettuce, but when i went to the counter they gladly gave me a nice bowl of romaine. It was enough for her wrap and my tropichop. The food was hot and delicious. Im giving them 3 stars for now and will give an updated review when they've had a chance to gain a little more experience. read more

The worst drive thru experience I've had in a long time. Still consistently slow and the parking lot is horrible at lunch time. There is no room for cars to pull in and out of spots while people are in the drive thru. It's unfortunate...it is pretty busy and I like the food but the parking lot and drive thru make this a bad experience. read more

I moved in the Daytona Beach area from the Sanford area. Boy was I spoiled there. The Daytona Beach franchise never has any sauces they always say they have to make more unless you ask to speak to a manager the magically they have sauces. My orders never come out right. You can't drive away until you check everything. The always leave out beans or something in an order and the portions are half of what they were where I came from. I'm tired of arguing with them. I'll go somewhere else. Avoid this Pollo Tropical location until they get new management. read more

What a terrible experience I had while using the drive through at this establishment. Now, when I make the terrible decision to come here, I don't even pull away from the window after receiving my food anymore because I know they messed up my order and I'm going to have to argue with them about it. Last night was no different. I am literally shaking still. The young African American girl working the window did not even greet me, she just said the total, took my card, then said "here" and rudely forced it back into my hand before slamming the window shut in my face. Without another word, she handed me my drink and my order which was wrong. I sat there for 2 more minutes before she came back and said "what?" I told her my order was incorrect, and she listened to me rattle off the reasons as such. One reason was my bowl did not have cheese and her reply was, "You white people eat enough cheese". I was appalled. I didn't even give her the food back to correct it because I believed she would tamper with it after that blatant racist statement. I will never step foot in a pollo tropical again. read more

Love this place - the food is amazing, the prices are reasonable, and the music played keeps your toes tappin'. HOWEVER... This is not a "bad" review, BUT unfortunately this place made some significant changes in the last few months that really changed the entire vibe of the place, taking it down to a level that now competes with cheapie fast food joints instead of competing with better dining places like Chipotle, Chicken Salad Chicks, etc. It used to stand out for the real silverware, plates, and meals delivered to the customer at their table. Now, that has changed, and IMHO, not for the better... First, they redid the dining room to (I assume) allow more seating, and in the process did away with all but 2 full booths (something important for those of us with bad backs). Second, they eliminated the real plates and real silverware and now use cheapie plastic utensils and disposable plates. And finally, they did away with delivering orders out to the customers tables. So now you have to try hard to listen for your number being called and get up and get your own darn food. I was very disappointed with all these changes on our visit today as we loved the things noted above that set Pollo Tropical apart from the others. Now it seems they are lowering the experience customers have rather than trying to make it better. :-( A couple comments on the dining room. They now only have a single person assigned to the dining room during the busiest part of the day and she was doing a great job and running her buns off making sure things were clean and everything stocked. She was super sweet and friendly and made sure we had everything we needed and were enjoying our meal. She also did an EXCELLENT job of keeping dining room cleaned and the sauce bar spotless as well. But it was obvious that another person in the dining room during crush periods like weekday lunch time would be a very good thing. Our food was (as usual) FANNNNNNNNNNNNTASTIC. The new ribs are deliciously sweet and fall right off the bone, and the chicken of course is also out of this world. We will continue to be customers, but are disappointed in the "improved" Pollo Tropical's dining room experience. read more

Amazing!! I went here with my family after a long day for a nice filling meal, we were not disappointed! We had the Family Meal which came with a whole chicken, 4 dinner rolls, & sweet plantains. We added yellow rice, pinto beans, and fried yuca. The chicken was juicy, tender, and flavorful as well as the plantains but the dinner rolls were nothing special. The rice was soft and pillowy with so much flavor and the beans were well seasoned and yummy. They had a sauce bar which we ended up loving the Garlic Ranch. So I fell in love with this place in St Pete Florida and since moved to Daytona Beach. Nothing but bad experiences here. First off the resturant is dirty and the rice wasnt cooked fully. That was a year ago. Today i decided to try again. should of checked my pick up order. It was so small i could count the corn, peppers and onions on my tropi chop. I was very excited when I landed in Florida today to hit up my favorite fast serve place, Pollo Tropicale. Pulling up in the drive through at 6:30, I was amazed at how slow it was going. When it was my turn, I was told that they were out of bone in chicken, which was a major bummer. I was a bit testy about it, as its their signature product and they really shouldn't run out in the middle of dinner hour. I also suggested they put a sign or someone out front to let everyone know as it was really slowing down the line. I was told they don't have the staff to do that and that they run out because they currently close at 8:00. Which makes no sense. Anyway, when I got home I realized they did not give me the side dishes that went with my daughters meal, even though they were on the order.So I got back in the car and drove back 15 minutes. When I got there, there were hand written signs on the door saying they were temporarily closed, but the staff was still there. I banged on the door waving my receipt saying that I just wanted the food I had already paid for. The staff actually laughed at me and just kept cleaning. When I kept knocking one of them started to make the sign of throat slash at me. All I wanted was the mashed potatoes and plantains that I had paid for. I know that it has been hard to hire lately but the crew working tonight is highly unprofessional. I will continue to go to PT but not this location, even though Im in the area a lot. read more

They'll allow you to order items that aren't even in stock, charge you for them, and when you bring it to their attention they'll say "we don't have that, that's why we didn't give it to you". First time visiting a Pollo Tropical, and was SO impressed! The food was excellent and very affordable! We stopped here for a quick meal while we traveled, and now we're hooked. Whenever we are near, we will be making a stop! My partner and I shared a half chicken meal. This included half of a roasted chicken, and two sides. We choose black beans and rice (which is more like two sides) and green beans. We had more than enough food for two people, and really enjoyed everything we had. To compliment the food, Pollo offers a sauce bar full of different sauce choices. We tried several, and we were impressed with them all. To top off our meal we sipped on their delicious sweet mango tea. The only reason for not giving a full 5 stars is because many of the tables were dirty when we visited. read more

The plantains were nice and sweet, the yuca was crispy and delicious with the garlic cilantro and guava bbq sauces. Words cannot describe the level of addiction I have to their lite combo- chicken Caesar wrap with cup of Caribbean chicken soup. I probably could eat it for every meal! Stopped in for a quick lunch while visiting. Place looks new but the inside had issues. The utensils were dirty I had to pick through a few to find a clean one. Condiment bar was a bit dirty because folks don't know how to pu after themselves. The staff all had attitudes. It was our very first time eating at a Pollo Tropico and no one was interested in helping us understand what everything was. They guy taking our order seemed to get frustrated with us for ordering slow. He was making the "hurry up" hand gestures. Could just have been a bad day but seems on par for every place here in Daytona. Guess everyone in this town is upset about something and the tourists get the brunt of their frustrations. The food itself was better than I thought it would be. I had the Mojo Pork, Maduros (sweet plantains), and boiled yuca with garlic sauce. I will try Pollo Tropico again just not this one. read more

They are always friendly and the food is good but i've slowed down on going there because their quality of food has slowly been going down, The chicken has had red/blood coming out of certain parts on numerous visits and i'm close to just not going there at all. The BLTs barely have bacon on them( one strip broken in half) and there isnt much green vegatable sides to choose from. Hopefully they'll get it together the food is good but the quality isn't worth going there spending money on. It sucks having to constantly check food to make sure i won't get food poisoning when the place should have that downpack. read more
