This restaurant is a mess. Almost no staff, long lines. My order took forever to be given to me and I had to go back to get it.

I wish I could rate this place a 0. The lines are terribly long and customer service was terrible it seemed like just minors and hispanics working there. The person in the window was being very rude and ignoring my questions. I initially thought it was FL's version of the El Pollo Loco on the west coast, so I expected an easy order of Mexican grilled chicken and sides. I realized when I pulled up to the drive-thru that it was a Caribbean restaurant that also serves several items like ribs and pulled pork. I chose the trio of chicken, ribs, and pulled pork. The chicken had a great grill flavor, but the meat was a little dry. The ribs surprised me because I had really low expectations, and after adding a bit of hot sauce, the pulled pork and pickled onions made a nice sandwich with the accompanying sweet roll. The sides of black beans and white rice was tasty, but I'll skip the waffle fries next time. For fast food you could do a lot worse, and it's a nice break from the standard options, but you can't really eat the platters in the car. It's a pretty good value too. read more

I placed an online catering order to feed 30 ppl. following my mother's funeral. The food never arrived. So I was stuck with 30 mourning people and nothing to feed them. When we realized the food was not going to come, My husband and I had scramble to buy chicken and side dishes from KFC. To add insult to injury, Pollo Tropical still charged me $145.00. So now, not only have I lost my mother, I also have to worry about being scammed out of my money by Pollo Tropical. I do not need nor do I deserve this hassle. No one has bothered to respond to my email messages or any OTHER messages sent to "upper" management by the customer service representatives that I have spoken with regarding this matter. They keep telling me that someone will contact me shortly. Taking my money and not providing a product is theft and this is the absolute WORSE experience of my life. Ok my wife and I have been a big fan of Pollo Tropical for at least twenty five years . In all the times we have choose to eat Pollo tropical it has always been a good choice . How ever tonight was not I choose to order online and got are usually favorite whole chicken rice and beans . First they wouldn't let me do the fastest pickup only I had to wait 50 min ok I said ok I left early hoping it might be ready. I arrived early maybe half hour after I ordered I walked in and noticed a lot of chicken cooked and none on the grill . I figured great my order should be ready nope I walked to the counter and there were many orders ready bagged ready to be picked up I said my name to the boy . He look at the bags and none was mine I guess because he just walked away, He then walk around somewhat confused looking for my order . He walked to the register and I ask him what's up and he you have a big order, I said no just a family meal. The a manager or shift walked up with a print out yelling at him the I was early. Then I took another five minutes till they worked on my order . Finally got my food and went home chicken old and over cooked and black beans were all water barely any beans . It's a great lunch spot in Homestead. I always get the tropichop and it's always declious. This place is very popular so it's always busy but it's worth it. There is plenty of parking available. The only real downside is that during the lunch time rush, it can get really dirty and chaotic. But, besides that, it's a good place to grab lunch. read more

When we walked into this Pollo Tropical I looked around to see if they were giving something away. The line inside was long, the drive through was full and while it wasn't the cleanest location I've been to, no one was complaining. This was definitely a neighborhood favorite with average service and tons of value, like all Pollo Tropicals. While in line the entire grill was covered in chicken and ribs, a sign that actually make it on the spot. Personally, I stick with the Mojo pork, but this is one of the few fast food places I'll ever walk in, but I come for the mango sweet tea, which is awesome! read more

What a find!!! We just stumbled upon this place on our drive from Miami to Key West. I saw the exit sign with "Pollo Tropical" and decided to go for it. First of all, very economical. Coming from NY and Chicago, $8 for a quarter slab of ribs, quarter chicken, rice, beans, breakfast bun and a drink... Absolute steal! Second, chicken and ribs cooked beautifully. Deliciously soft chicken. Pork that comes off the bone very easily and you can cut through it with a plastic knife! Third, the variety of sauces and dips is very interesting. After waiting so long in line the person at the window is always rude. This place clearly only hires teenagers that like to speak slang. Every time I pull off without checking my bag something is missing and if you call the store on the phone no one ever answers. Pollo Tropical is a moderately priced restaurant that is much healthier than McDonalds or BK. My favorite item on the entire menu are the balsamic tomatoes. Trying to be a little more health conscious Pollo Tropical fits the bill for "fast" food with some nutritional benefit. I enjoy the different sauces, but don't drench your food in them. Use them to add a bit of flavor. Pollo Tropical is not a 5 star restaurant, but given the choice of fast foods joints; the food is filling, seasoned pretty well and good. read more
