My wife and I have been to this location several times over the years. Every time it gets worse. I figured we would give it one more shot. How much worse could it get? Went on a Sunday evening around 6:30. There were probably 8 or so people inside and cars lined up in the drive through. 6 of the 8 people were waiting for their food. I was the only person waiting to order. After 5 minutes I kindly asked the person standing behind the counter if someone was going to take my order. They just looked at me and walked away (not that they were cleaning any of the various piles of garbage/food that were everywhere). Now the people that have been waiting for who knows how long for their food are starting to complain. I waited another couple of minutes and left wishing the two gentlemen walking in as I was walking out good luck. They said, "That bad, huh?" to which my reply was "Worse". If this were the first time something like this happened at this location I could chalk it up to a bad day, but it is like this every time! This place is a disaster. This place is ALWAYS busy, so be prepared for that. My tip - don't use the drive-thru if you can avoid it , go in and place an order or place it online and wait at the pick up spot inside. Check your orders when they come through (if you are taking your food to-go). And if Marthia is making your food then you know it's gonna be great ! We place group orders here (for work) and every single time Marthia has come to our rescue during the busy lunch times. She will correct your orders if something is not the way you ordered it and she will do it with a smile and a great attitude. So I am from Miami and ate at my first Pollo Tropical in PBC tonight. Was craving it all day and so we went there. Drive-Thru of course! The order was 95% correct and the food was super delicious!! We had the Chicken TropiChop with Brown Rice and Romaine for me and more veggies and rice for him. Garlic and Poyo Poyo Sauce were outstanding! The only problem was the first like 3-5 items we wanted to order i.e. Yuca filled with cheese (LTO),,Chicken Avocado anything etc etc was answered with a "No! We don't have that!" Or "No! What happened - are they okay?! I used to love pollo. It's easy, good, fast and not fast food!!! Now, since after the lockdown was lifted and restaurants opened. This particular branch has been garbage. Absolute utter garbage. Overcooked, rice that is mixed with fresh and old rice (oh yes, it's distinct and you can feel the rice. I enjoy pollo occasionally. This specific location on Northlake is good.. sometimes. And sometimes they run out of their food and sometimes my meal is wrong. Such as now. I have been coming to this pollo for over a year or so now and the service has always been in my experience one of the worst, with long waits, wrong orders, and bad customer service...but with that said I believe in the past couple of months they must have gotten new management as I find I'm not having or seeing issues with customers waiting extended periods of time for their orders nor the confusion and unorganized service as before. It is much more streamlined and they have definitely worked on providing faster service, which is great! My only complaint would have to be with customer service that is still lacking. Staff always seemed unenthusiastic when interacting with you or taking your order, not even making eye contact. When I placed my order I asked if she can scan my apps barcode and she hesitated and sighed. One of the scanners wasn't working and in the process she asked to hold my phone which I had no problem with but then she dropped it on a lower counter and I heard a big thud. She didn't seem phased by it nor apologized. And then she gave me back my phone. I realized I didn't see any reward points go through and I politely asked if it went through and she just said yes it did in a dull manner. I didn't push it, but when I got back to my seat I noticed a scratch on my iphone screen that wasn't there before and after 24 hours my rewards still never went through. I would never ask to be compensated for this scratch on my phone, but it's very upsetting when the staff shows no care for making a slight effort to be friendly or have a decent level of customer service. Also while I was eating, a staff member was taking out the trash next to me and shaking the dirty trash bag right in front of me. He just looked me straight in the face and had no care. I've only been through the drive through but it's always been great - quick and well-packaged for the trip. I heard from friends that the "people were dirty" but I didn't feel that way - seemed comparable to other fast food chains! I am allergic to wheat and they have a great variety of gluten free options. Can't beat the prices here either. Every time we go to the drive-through and we get home the food is either wrong or they take almost half an hour to get your order. Service was horrible, slow Sunday(3/24/2019) still took forever to get through the drive thru with only two cars ahead of me at about 7:30pm. My sprite was not filled up all the way even with two black girls at the window. No plastic utensils or napkins in my bag. This place is the worst Pollo I have ever been to. First, I ordered a chicken sandwich with a side of fries and a small salad. The sandwich had no lettuce when it's supposed to, my salad was literally FROZEN!!! And they gave me a big tub of corn which I never asked for and CHARGED ME FOR IT! I came back a couple weeks later, and they forgot about my order and completed everyone who came after me.
