Why have a mobile pick up if it isn't used? Ordered online, walked over early to pick up, sat nearby to wait. Not busy at all, so after pick up time passed I asked and my food was behind the counter. We were staying at the hotel across the street and walked over. When we got to our room, realized they had not included sauces for either meal. If you are from Southern California, I'd equate this to El Pollo Loco but maybe a half set up. They offer ribs which is so not Latin American food but what do I know? I grew up in Texas. The sauces were hit or miss. I loved a few and was not a fan of the rest. It could depend on the day. They were hit with a rush when we came through which was shocking given it was 11 pm at night. They took our orders which included a bunch of chicken and 2 servings of ribs but didn't have enough ribs to serve us. I love the new Chicken Fricassee that Pollo Tropical offers. Tonight I was able to get it in a Tropichop bowl with mashed potatoes and gravy. It was delicious! So why didn't I give it 5 stars? We went here from the nearby Doubletree hotel, so it was convenient. My wife got the chicken and rib combo and she said the rib meat came right off the bone, tender and good. I had a chicken meal and was happy with it. I tried the tomato vinaigrette as a side and it was a bit too tart for me, but I knew there was a chance of that when I chose it. We didn't try the sauces they offer. The chicken seemed like a good fit for our paleo way of eating - not covered with a crust of batter. We are so disappointed with what we got on Saturday night. We ordered 3 Cuban sandwiches to impress visitors that we had but when we got them home they were incomplete. I placed a curbside pick up order and when I got there the spots for curbside were parked in no one in the cars I waited 15 minutes over the expected pick up time in hopes someone will come out I attempted the call the number listed on the order and on maps 407-850-9491 and it rang rang and sent me to a voicemail when I finally decided to get out my car and walk up to the counter the manager I am assuming since he was the only one in a black polo older male, short with gRey hair. Attended to me at the counter I explained that I had been calling and waiting outside and the curbside slots were parked in and his only response was I've had the phone on me the whole time and it hasn't been ringing. No apology for the wait - no apology for the multiple calls I tried verify the number of the store and he looked at me like I was stupid and didn't even try to see if I dialed the wrong number. He didn't verify the number himself. He asked his employee to get the order and it was all tied up and I asked him was it all there and instead of checking himself he asked an associate if it was all in there instead of checking himself. I asked him again he repeated it's all there when I go to look the juice for my kids meal was not in there and the sauce I had ordered was not in there. I waited at the counter for someone to attend me and the manager saw but instead looked at me and sent his employee over to ask me what was missing with food in his mouth. I honestly didn't even come in upset I was just wondering how the company offers curbside but the signs don't have a number to call and the order has no instructions on how to let the store know you're there. PT you need to step up your processing game if you're going to offer a service but no instructions on how it needs to be followed through & when there is someone who has to come out of their car to get what was suppose to be convenient curbside I expect your employees to come with more empathy on peoples time! - I am expected a phone call and response back! read more

Do not use the online order System. It's not fast like they promised and it's not safer than going inside because you eventually have to go inside. GrubHub takes forever to process. After sitting outside for 40 minutes for curbside pick up, I went in and discovered they didn't even show the order. I have the confirmation number and the email confirming payment so after taking a couple more customers in front of me they went ahead and filled my order. GrubHub I give you zero stars. Every single time I go here, great service!! Fresh, clean,perfect food! The one in lake Nona sucks! I drive 20 minutes rather than 5 minutes to Lake l Nona's PT anyday and same thing, well hot off the grill chicken, black beans is nice thick and fresh, bread is nice and soft, yellow rice is perfect and never salty or soggy. Fantastic, friendly customer service! This was our second visit after a less than impressive visit to another location about 7 years ago. We decided to give it another go. The chicken sandwich was amazing! We ordered the grilled chicken but we're not asked if we preferred white or dark so we ended up with a burnt wing and a very dry breast. Perhaps the dark would've been juicier. Or, maybe not. The stacks of chicken above the grill all look over-charred to me. The pieces being added to the grill looked better before the additional grilling. The ribs were tender but unseasoned/unsalted. We chose to have the sauce on the side, which did add some of the salt & seasoning they needed. The great customer service was very refreshing! read more

(1/14/2018) Needed a quick take-out dinner for the visiting family (too tired to cook) and Pollo Tropical was top of their list to check out. The in-laws tried for about half an hour to order online for pickup and finally gave up and called the order in (I suspect end-user error). It was not ready when we got there, and took some time to sort things out. Apparently, there was confusion about substitutions, additions, saucing, and well, pretty much everything. There's a bonus to ordering through an automated system, no human interpretation necessary, which is where things go wrong. Had the Trio, since I like samplers of all things. 1/4 Chicken was flavorful and well-seasoned, ours a touch dry, even the dark meat. Mojo Roast Pork (pulled) was tender, came in a small cup, Guava BBQ Ribs were fall off the bone and had a delicious sweet, sticky sauce (these were the best of the plate). The Trio automatically comes with two sides (there is not a one side option), hence some confusion on the in-laws' part. Boiled Yucca was pretty much exactly that. The bland, soft root vegetable was actually a nice foil for the rich meat. I prefer my yucca fried, but I wasn't paying (and the in-laws weren't offering to spring for the extra $3). The Black Beans were tender, pretty well-seasoned. The corn casserole was sweet and moist, like the now defunct Chi-Chi's sweet corn cake, if you miss that. The French Fries (as the chosen unwanted second side) ended up just cold and starchy (not a good choice for take-out or any kind of traveling food). Def hit up the sauce bar, I sorta overdid it, but I do like my sauces. Best for everything was the creamy Cilantro-Garlic and Guava BBQ. I pretty much detest yellow curry, but some might like the Curry Mustard. Ended up about $40 for dinner for 4, def not bad at all. read more

Not all locations of this chain are the same. This one in particular is the best one I have experienced. It is a brand new location so it is very clean and has good parking. Having moved to Denver for a couple of years, I really missed Caribbean style food. I started trying this place when the Chipotle up the street started getting worse. With that in mind I was basically looking to replace my burrito bowl habit. The TropiChop fit the bill nicely. I usually get the chicken TropiChop with black beans and rice. For 50 cents less than a burrito bowl I get a larger serving that tastes much better. All I need is to get some fresh guacamole to complete the transformation. But honestly it really doesn't need it. The flavors are excellent. I'm looking forward to trying some of their other dishes. I can also attest that their plantains are awesome as well. An extra bonus is the drive-through since I mostly get their food to go. The service has always been friendly and quick. I'll definitely be a regular at this location. read more

After flying, I chose this place because it seemed better than a drive through but not slow as a restaurant. It was pretty empty when we got there so was able to order right away. The grilled chicken was nicely spiced and went well with the dipping sauces. We tried sides of bread, green beans, fries and rice& beans. The rice needed to be reheated to be fully enjoyed as well as the beans. Fries were a bit of a let down--dry and bland. The sweet bread was a nice surprise, fresh and soft. Unbelievably terrible customer service. I walked over from a hotel (tons of hotels in the area) to get lunch. It was hot and humid out so I didn't want to walk far. This place has a sign that says dining room open and no indication otherwise. I walk in and I'm looking at the menu just to have a manager rush me out of the building, in a panic, declaring that they're going o be drive-through only today. I tried to explain that I'd be happy to get a mean, but he pushed me out and locked the door behind me. What a joke. It's ok, I had to walk further in the heat, but Chick fil a is far better anyway. Pulled into the restaurant about 930PM. Restaurant is open till Midnight. There is a drive in area but I chose to go inside to order. There was a line to order but the cashier moved quickly and efficiently so it went fairly quickly. Cooking staff appeared to be working quickly. I got takeout so I waited near the counter. As the number for each dinner came out the worker apologized for the wait. I didn't think I waited an unreasonable amount of time for food and it appeared other patrons didn't think they waited too long. It may just be standard for them to apologize - or maybe they thought we waited too long. It was obvious that the cooking staff was working fast and efficiently. I got my drink as I waited for my food and the area was tidy and neat. The food tasted great just the right portion and temperature. When I am in town again I will be stopping by. read more

The restaurant was fully staffed and there were only a few customers, so one can only assume terrible management and lazy employees.
