What's not to say about Polly's pie.. from they're baked goodies to their shakes.. FYI they're shakes are made from the own pies that they bake on site.. && they are thee best shakes I've had so far.. food portion here is good and the food is always hot and ready.. I've been here on several occasions for breakfast/lunch and dinner but I love breakfast the most.. the Fullerton location is not that big just decent room size.. you are greeted upon entry and they are old school when it comes to paying your bill they have someone up front in the register if you'd like to pay and get going faster or they can take your bill pay it and bring your receipt back however you'd like.. the waitress/servers are always nice and they do a great job.. NEVER AGAIN. I work very close to Polly's pies so it's very convenient for all of us to get lunch, but in the last six months they've screwed up my order every time! Today they didn't even take the order correctly and I had to go in to fix it. I called before I went over so they could make the correct sandwich. Which they never did! I had to explain things to the manager twice before writing on the receipt what the actual problem was and what I needed and what I should be refunded. After waiting a long time to get my sandwich, because the girl on the phone never put my order in, I find that they gave me the wrong one and had to run back in. I have bread today. And it was ok. The hash browns tasted like they were cooked in burned oil. They weren't that good. But the reason I'm giving a review is because a waiter was serving another table and he drop a cup of fruit on the floor. I've been a long time customer of this location, and I don't know if I'll go back after today's experience. I say this after having a series of bad experiences at this location in recent visits. Today, it was just a friend and me for dinner before a movie. My friend ordered the mega grilled cheese, and I ordered the pot pie dinner. The restaurant was busy, but not overly crowded. We ended up waiting nearly 45 minutes for our food. It seemed as if customers who had arrived after us were being served first. To her credit, our waitress was apologetic and let us know that there was some sort of delay in the kitchen. It was the manager (I assume) who ended up finally bringing the food to our table so we could wolf it down and make our movie. The manager was apologetic, thanked us for our patience, and said that a lot of orders came in at once. He offered a free cookie but no discount on the meal. I didn't make an issue about it. Spotty service seems to be a continuing pattern with this location. It's not the first time I've waited an excessive amount of time for what should be a simple meal (it's grilled cheese not a soufflé) There have also been times where after finishing a meal I'll be left waiting 20 minutes or more for the check. Then there's often another wait when you get to the register to pay. Don't get me started on the ever shrinking portions in this inflationary environment (they say they serve a full scoop of ice cream with the pie, but I'm not convinced it's a full scoop anymore. Also not convinced it's a full slice of pie). I can't say what the problem is. My theory is that it might be getting harder to run a restaurant that provides a home cooked experience in an increasingly competitive and costly business environment. At the end of the day, I'm not an economist, I just want to eat in a reasonable amount at a reasonable price. I don't think this restaurant is up to the challenge anymore. read more

What can I say about Fullerton's Polly's that isn't harsh? Not much. This restaurant has been going down hill for some time. But here's my experience today 7/14/23, with my husband and granddaughter: First, we walk in and the manager and a wait staff person are behind the counter talking, talking, talking, look up and ignore us and talk some more. No hello, be with you in a minute but an attitude of "Oh, God, we have customers. Ugh." We are seated and given breakfast menus at 1:20 in the afternoon. I get up and approach our server and say we have breakfast menus. She says oh, would you like lunch menus? Duh! It goes down hill from there. We all ordered salads. It took 20 minutes to get our order. The chicken cutlet in my BBQ ranch salad is burnt and hard as a rock, blah, blah, blah. I remember back in the day when this Polly's was so busy you always had to wait for a table, the food was good and the wait staff was attentive and pleasant. But no more and so sad. Our server never came a round after putting in food order, we never received drink refills and had to send one item backed due to being over cooked. When the pie slices came, they were completely flat and appeared pretty half of a real slice. I came here to check it out for lunch today. Service - Excellent - see below. Cleanliness - Excellent - Health Board of Orange County gave it a "Passed" Price - $18.71 (including tax and tip) Seafood - Salmon and Cold Water Cod Meats - Yes, beef, chicken, turkey Vegetables - Yes, check salads Dessert - Yes, best known for their pies. Fruits - Yes, on the pies Other - (1) Free and large parking lot. (2) located in the same plaza as Albertson's, (3) Cash and Credit Cards are accepted here, (4) After the meal, take your check and pay @ cashier, (5) Polly's proudly serves Foster Farms California Chicken which are 100% natural with no hormones or steroids of any kind, (6) When you walk in, you are in the bakery--the restaurant is to the left hand side. What was ordered: Customer Service (Complimentary) - Excellent - When I walked in, there was no one to seat me. A Girl #1 from behind the cashier noticed this and came immediately to seat me. Strawberry Lemonade ($3.59) - Excellent - Sunkist lemonade stirred together with fresh sweet strawberries. Quantity: The cup was approximately 20 oz. Quality: The drink was perfectly chilled. Nice large chunks of cut strawberries on the bottom of the cup. Flavor: Yum. Sweet and no tartness at all. Very refreshing. Traditional Roasted Turkey Dinner ($10.99) - Excellent - Foster Farms oven roasted turkey breast that is served with skins on Yukon Gold smashed potatoes, gravy, and creamed spinach. Also comes with Polly's homestyle stuffing and cranberry sauce. Let me breakdown the dinner for you: Turkey - Excellent - Foster Farms oven roasted turkey breast slathered with golden brown gravy. Quantity: 3 pieces of turkey breast. Quality: Beautiful white, moist, and tender meat. Plus, has the Foster Farms stamp of approval--no hormones & steroids used. Flavor: Good lean turkey flavor. Add some gravy and you enhances the flavor of the turkey--making it heartier. Or add some of the cranberry sauce and you sweeten the turkey. Yukon Gold Smashed Potatoes - Good - Quantity: A fist full of potatoes. Quality: The smashed potatoes was both chunky and smooth. Potatoes had a nice and golden color. Flavor: Nice earthly taste of the potatoes--extra flavor from the skins. Add the gravy and expect to adjust your belt down a 4 to 5 notches. Creamed Spinach - Excellent x 3 - Spinach made with BACON and cheese. Quantity: 4 inch diameter and 2 inches in height bowl. Quality: Spinach was beautifully green. It is a bit less than creamy which made it perfect for me. Flavor: Choo Choo ... welcome to Flavor Town, Yelpers! This is the best creamed spinach I have ever tasted--you have melted cheese, BACON, and spinach. Polly's Homestyle Stuffing - Excellent - Quantity: Approximately 2 cups (16 oz). Quality: Nice golden brown color with spongy texture. Flavor: The stuffing was savory--seasoned very well. You will notice the crisped green sage that is spread throughout the stuffing. Burp!! I am very satisfied. Now I just have to wait to see who invites me to Thanksgiving dinner next week. Darn, Inbox still empty. Whether or not I get invited to Thanksgiving Dinner at least I know where to get my Thanksgiving fill at. I'm a fan, Polly!! I'm a fan, Polly!! We met my brother & sister in law for breakfast today. We've met at quite a few Polly's as well as others over the years. This is a fairly new location. It's situated in a new strip mall, very nice location, as the restaurant is very nice itself. The menu it's the same as they all are, being a chain. Enjoyed our visit & catching up but that's where it all ended. Our waitress was a sweet young girl. However, a little out of her league. I had asked for coffee, took at least 10 minutes, we then asked for separate checks, then ordered. After maybe 10-12 minutes our food was served! Good so far, yet 3 out of 4 orders were wrong. After 10 minutes, we had everything straight. It all was very good. They came around asking for more coffee, perhaps desert & our check. Yep, a single check when we had started our ordering by asking for separate checks. Ok so after a few go around with items that didn't belong on either checks or items never received, they got it right. All n all, not a great experience. Worst customer service I've ever received. Everyone working here seems half a sleep. The last time I order the food was cold. This time I ordered online and came to pick up. I couldn't get anyone's attention to help me. Then they said they didn't have my order even though I showed them the email confirmation. Everyone just stared at me blankly and offered no solutions. Polly's pies is always delicious, you can never go wrong with there hamburger slice of pie combo! (W/ sweet Maui onion :) there bakery items are heavenly and their back burner soup is a classic. My family has been coming to this Polly's location forever, my Grandpa was a regular at the counter sipping his coffee and my Grandma would have a pie from no where else. They recently redesigned this location w/ a clean beautiful retro vintage retro feel and they are still not done. I had the privilege of painting a mural at this location which can been seen on the back wall of the restaurant as the backdrop to some really awesome original 1968 painting illustrating the story of Polly's. read more

I love this place! Everything tastes amazing! It's also a whole lot of food for a great value. I personally love breakfast anytime of day, so this is the perfect spot. It's way better than Denny's and IHOP. I also love that there's free coffee and samples of baked goods while you wait for a table. The service is also phenomenal. Peggy, our server, was warm, friendly, and attentive. When running our food to the table, she noted she was having the kitchen remake my egg whites because they were too oily. I appreciate the extra attention she gave to that. They're sausage links are so tasty too! I normally like bacon so that's saying a lot. They're pancakes also have a yummy crunch on the outside with a light fluffy interior. Again, I normally don't like pancakes, but HAD to try the barberry chocolate chip pancakes. I walked in to this Polly's on a Sunday afternoon. I was greeted by 3 employees with a smile and a kind greeting. Customer service wins me all the time! One of the young ladies behind the counter asked how she could help me. She boxed up my pie and cashed me out. She sent me off with a, "Enjoy the rest of your day!", farewell. That made my day! I went in that day to pick up a BANBERRY pie. It is Polly's signature strawberry banana cream pie. One of the yummiest pies ever! The young man working the counter could not even answer the simplest of questions. He response to any question was" ah, I don't know" and with a manager behind him, who was of no help as well. Was looking forward to our first sit in lunch as a fam since the pandemic began. Wife and kids love this restaurant and used to visit weekly. Greeting was cold and confusing but we were seated within 3 minutes. One couple was sat in another area just before us and a second couple sat near us within 5 minutes of our being seated. The restaurant was by no means full. And never got full while we were there. (This will be important later.) Wifey said it appears the decor has been updated. The menus are new with new dishes as well. The server arrived quickly and was friendly. She took our drink orders and gave us time to peruse the menu. My margarita tasted great but there was no tequila in it. Wifey informed me it was lemonade. Turns out margs aren't on the menu. *sigh* Joking aside, the lemonade is delicious. The server returned quickly and took our order. By the time the food arrived daughter and I were boarding on hangry and we were not starving when we arrived. The server did not stop by to refill drinks or deliver bread or crackers during the wait. It was a long, and disappointing, wait. The boy's chocolate pancakes and strawberries were a hit. Wifey was pleased with her chicken pot pie and mashed potatoes with gravy. Daughter felt the mac n cheese was just "meh". It looked oily to me. The skinny fries in a cute paper lined fry basket looked promising, and they were not bad, but were overcooked, absent of salt and scarce! A small order of Macker's fries has more volume by far. My fish and chips were a huge letdown. Three pieces of seemingly average sized pieces turned out to be tiny pieces of fish surrounded by an abundance of flaverless, and occasionally undercooked, cornbread batter. I wanted to pound the table and exclaim "where's the fish" but worried someone would reply "hey boomer". Thankfully, a tiny fry basket of the aforementioned overcooked/unsalted fries was included, along with a cup of "grilled veggies" which consisted of zucchini, yellow squash and more zuccini and tasted as if they were grilled in the oil the fish was fried in. Was the coleslaw a better choice? We'll never know. Overall the experience wasn't the worst and the server was nice. If not really attentive to the fact that the food took far to long to be delivered. It's doubtful a second chance to disappoint will be given. read more
