I am very happy with Poly Timber Tree Service. Oscar came out to give me estimate and described how the trees would be trimmed. After talking to other tree services for estimates, I picked Oscar for his knowledge of the trees, and also Oscar gave an honest reasonable price. On the day of tree trimming. He had 14 guys working on the project. We had 9 big and small trees. The Poly Timber crews worked skillfully in trimming, cutting, removing debris and blowing leaves off rooftops. At the end of the day, the site was all clean. The trees were trimmed perfectly. We had Oscar also work on another site. 4 big tall Pine trees and a mix of Pecan, Ash trees etc. The job was done perfectly. Every single crew member knew exactly what to do and they worked flawlessly. Cruz and Oscar were on site supervising and I was much at ease watching how the trees were perfectly trimmed and rooftop was all cleanup as well. We had Poly Timber come out last month to cut down several really tall Italian cypresses and a very large eucalyptus tree to prepare for having a wall built in our back yard. Of the three vendors we got quotes from, Ricky from Poly Timber was most detailed about our options and even gave us some information about how soon the eucalyptus will grow back and provide shade again. Poly Timber's estimate was not the cheapest, but we felt most confident with Ricky's presentation. When they did the job, they had enough people so that while some guys were working on cutting down the trees, the others could remove the debris and throw the pieces in the wood chipper, and they completed the job in two hours. Normally I don't write reviews, but I feel society should be warned about these predators. My elderly mom, who suffers from mental health issues, and is also on a fixed social security income, was solicited by Oscar to have yard work done after the fires/winds in Pasadena. They had done work prior for my mom, and I found their prices very high. This time they quoted my mom $13K and had her sign a contract to trim one side of a tree, and other general clean up work that a gardner can do. $13k to prune roses, shape bushes, fertilize fruit trees, clean up leaves and wack weeds. When I found out I immediately called to tell them to stop work. They had yet to do the actual major tree trimming work and are insisting we pay $8k for the work that gardeners would do for a fraction of the cost. I called the owner Ricky to explain my moms mental handicap condition. He said he understood. When trying to negotiate with Ricky for a more fair price these criminals tell me I should seek legal counsel? They also advised they need to make $4500 a day from us to cover their costs? Over $550 an hour for mostly gardner type work? Outrageous! Oscar admitted to Ricky that less than half the work on the contract was done. However Ricky would not budge below $7K as a final settlement. Do yourself a favor and avoid working with Poly Timber Tree Service at all costs. read more

Poly Timber is THE BEST hands down!!! Oscar and Cruz's crew was very professional, highly skilled & extremely efficient. I had a bird of paradise with humongous shoots going everywhere, a lemon tree that was all up in the power line and a rubber tree that needed to go. I got estimates from other companies that were only going to prune the minimum shoots on the palm, top the lemon tree, and tried to talk me out of shopping down the rubber tree. Oscar suggested to prune the entire bird of paradise, prune the entire lemon tree, and fully remove the rubber tree for a VERY reasonable price. He also educated me about my trees and explained why removing the rubber tree was the better move than just giving it a haircut. PLUS Poly Timber is fully insured, bonded and pay worker's comp which should be required especially re: tree services just in case.... I had this huge Chinese Elm tree that needed pruning and Ricky and his team did a phenomenal job. The price they quote me was very fair and half the price of some other quotes I received from other companies. Best part of the experience was that Ricky and his team was very knowledgeable in tree pruning. Instead of butchering the tree and stripping it completely which was my experience with other companies, they took away just the right amount of foliage and maintained the shape and integrity of the tree. They also helped me with trimming down some Honeysuckle bush in which they also did a great job with. After they were finished with everything, they cleaned everything up and even went on top my my roof to clear all the leaves. Safety was also a concern for me and it was great to know they are licensed, bonded, insured and also took the necessary safety precaution. Everyone had hard hats on and were strapped in harnesses. On the morning of, slightly before 7am, I saw a few trucks already parked in my streets and Oscar, the lead, introduced himself. Ricky arrived shortly after. Ricky going over the tasks required (per prior discussion with him), the 10-man crew immediately started. We just had this company over this morning and were very happy with the whole experience. The health and beauty of each tree was considered, and I gained a lot of important knowledge about our trees and how to best care for them. Part of the job was very difficult as they had to trim back a huge pepper tree hanging over from the neighbor and pushing over our cypresses, as well as our loquat tree that hung over onto our neighbor's side, and our pomegranate tangled with their pepper tree -so the guys were way up in the trees with their saws. The crew was quick and efficient and worked well together. The price was quite reasonable for all that had to be done. I was even able to add to the estimate given to us earlier -the removal of a couple of overgrown euphorbia xantii bushes that had to be dug up by hand and couldn't be put in the chipper. I needed the removal of: 1) sticky-jabby desert plants 2) a giant Palo Verde tree with huge, scary, sticky-jabby branches and 3) multiple sticky-jabby root-stumps of a very invastive plant.
