Very friendly and attentive waiter service despite how busy it was when we went. Pizza was absolutely delicious. I love the foccacia-style crust. I think it's my new favorite pizza in the Bath-Brunswick area. The mocktail I got was refreshing and fruity. The arancini appetizer was flavorful and cooked perfectly. The chocolate cake dessert was good, but nothing special. Next time I'll try cannoli. I noticed that they have a great kids' menu, which was a bonus for when we bring the family. My only disappointment was the Sicilian orange salad. I've had this style of salad in Italy, and I think Pomelia's needs a bit less fennel, less vinegar, and more orange. It needs full circle slices of oranges, more like the traditional Sicilian style salad. They are on the right track, just needs a little adjusting. read more

Went for an anniversary lunch with high expectations. Wow, we were impressed. The service, the ambience, the food. Excellent. The proprietors were former owners of the Little Bistro in Wiscasset which we frequented after we moved to Maine from Silicon Valley in 2017. That fine dining establishment compared well with the highest bay area fare. We were saddened when it closed down in the midst of Covid. We actually had a reservation for the day they closed for good. Now that they are back and doing what they do best, practicing world-class culinary art right here in mid-coast Maine, we plan to frequent Pomelia as often as we can. We shared a perfectly fried calamari and the wonderful Ricotta meatballs for apps. My wife had a Caesar salad with real (not tinned) Anchovies added and I had the Marsala Porcini entree whose remains will become today's lunch at home. Both were great. Oh and the server was just so professional and sweet and it made our experience even more perfect on a blue sky Maine day. What else can I say other than, make sure you get a reservation! The service and staff were lovely and kind. My Cesar salad was perfect- the romaine was evenly tossed with the dressing beforehand so I didn't have to mess around with it myself. We ordered the larger pepperoni pizza and my husband and I almost finished it. I loved the cupped pepperoni. Non-alc Italian soda was delicious. I wish I could stay longer and try everything on the menu. I noticed the music choice felt weird and didn't go with the restaurant vibes. I'm coming out of Yelp retirement to tell everyone about this incredible new restaurant in Brunswick. Pomelia took over Scarlet Begonias and breathed some much needed life into that dark, outdated restaurant. It is so lively and welcoming, offering both a laid back atmosphere, but definitely somewhere for a romantic night out as well. Our waitress was Dawn, and we absolutely loved her! Friendly and knowledgeable and willing to answer my many questions about the menu. It was a toss up between meatballs and calamari, but with her recommendation, we went with the calamari. It was hands down the best calamari dish we've both had. Flavorful, expertly fried and the sauce, to use my husband's words was "drinkable". The peppers and onions added a nice variety to the bites. Absolute perfection. I had been eyeing the menu since the second they posted it, and still had a hard time deciding what to order. Everything looked amazing. The pasta dish I wanted to order had just sold out, so I went with plan B- the mushroom ricotta pizza and a garlicky Caesar salad. The focaccia pizza was flavorful and fluffy, while the Caesar was cold, crispy and had the perfect amount of dressing. I was accidentally served the kale salad, and while they were quick to bring the correct salad to me, I had a couple bites before I realized the mistake and loved that too! My husband went with the Marsala porcini pasta and added the chicken Marsala. I stole a few bites and thought it was very good. We ended the night with the chocolate cake, which had good flavor but a bit dry. I wish I had chosen the cannoli, but there is always next time! I really wish I could give more than three stars. My wife and I heard so much about this great new restaurant in Brunswick and were looking forward to fantastic food. Unfortunately, the food was the low point of our visit which was a couple of weeks ago. I ordered a pasta dish with sausage but had to really search to find 3-4 very tiny pieces of sausage. My wife was also disappointed in her pasta dish simply because it was very middle of the road. We were already aware, due to the prior restaurant at the location, or the layout and seating which was fine. Our waitress was very nice but unable to answer some basic questions about the menu which I attribute to the newness of the restaurant. For me, regardless of the ambiance or wait staff, or whether service is fast or slow, the ultimate test of a restaurant is the food and on the night we were there it simply did not measure up. read more

Delicious new restaurant in Brunswick - decent amount of seating with lots of friendly staff and a great menu of both food/drinks. We went on a Friday at 5:45 and sat at the bar. The complimentary focaccia was divine and the drinks (dirty martini, espresso martini and mocktail) were very tasty. We started with the cheesy arancini and Sicilian pepperoni flatbread which were both must order items and then for entrees got the caesar, hot honey calabrian chicken sandwich, and spicy Salsiccia ragu pasta - everyone was very pleased with their choices. For dessert we got the cannoli (AMAZING) and the dark chocolate cake. Can't wait to go back! Jay was our bartender and we had such a nice time chatting with him throughout the evening. Came for early dinner after the theater. I ordered the Cannoli Al Forno. It was nothing like the usual Cannoli Al Forno , it was flat, pretty tasteless and rubbery. The Calamari was just ok, I've had much better just in a 10 mile radius of Pomelia's for the same price, my Lemoncello Spritzer was great. My companion ordered the Chicken Parmesan and a salad and really enjoyed it, she loved the bread too. The service outshined the food. The ambience ..... noisy and cafe-like, not like the chaos in an Italian restaurant , more like you would expect a restaurant next to a train station? I'm sorry, I hate to give a less than stellar review but I think previous Pomelia reviews here are overrated. read more

We visited Pomelia's in Brunswick and it was such a great experience from start to finish. Leigh Anne, who greeted us at the door, was incredibly sweet and welcoming, and our server was super friendly and attentive. The whole staff just gave off such a warm, kind vibe. We had a party of six, and everyone was super pleased with their meals. The portion sizes were generous, the food came out in a reasonable amount of time, and they made sure our drinks were always full. The bread was amazing, and the crispy chicken was to die for! My partner and I went to Pomelia on recommendation from a friend. It's not the traditional food we usually get, in fact I'm not sure we have ever had Sicilian food that being said it was absolutely delicious! We ordered the meatball appetizer and were pleasantly surprised at the amount of meatballs. The sauce with the fresh focaccia bread was amazing! I ordered the smaller margherita pizza made on the focaccia bread and it was the perfect size and pleasantly delicious. My partner got the chicken Parmesan, and got the perfect amount of golden, crispy chicken on top of a bed of delicious fresh pasta, and to make it even better it wasn't drowned in an exuberant amount of cheese! It was the perfect ratios of chicken, pasta, and cheese. We ended the meal with a nice, big cannoli. To top it all off we had a fantastic server, MaryBeth. My wife and I were at the end of a very long journey from midcoast Maine to Kittery and onto Portsmouth, New Hampshire, and we're heading back and both hungry and tired. We found Pomelia and love the idea of having Italian. We were met at the door with extremely friendly hostess, a server And a very busy restaurant. They let us know that it'd be a 15 to 20 minute. wait if we were interested, and we were. They had us sit at a small bench on the side and offered to get us our drinks while we waited. Then just shortly afterwards, they offered us a table that another two couple party refused, and we jumped on the idea. We order order our drinks and a Ceasar salad to share to start our evening. We offered to eat off the same serving dish, but they happily split the salad onto two plates. Which, by the way, we were happy they did because it was huge. along with our drinks, they served a bread basket, which was nice to see come to the table. My husband got the Chicken Parmigiana, made like my Mom, Nonna and I would - it wasn't swamped with sauce or cheese so the cutlet still had a crisp coating, with a delicious sauce. the pecorino was the good stuff, definitely freshly grated. I had orecchiette in a spicy Calabrian sauce with sausage - better than my familly's! My favorite was the fennel salad, heavenly good. We came to Pomelia the first week of operation and everything we ate was very good to excellent -- the hot honey chicken sandwich was a particular standout. Prices are also extremely reasonable given the quality. Nice, casual atmosphere suitable both for adult conversation and for bringing the kids (also a good kids menu on offer). Service was friendly with a few minor inefficiencies that will probably work themselves out once the restaurant has been open for more than a few days. Wow! Just wow! We lunched at Pomelia, a party of five. The menu was so enticing, we asked if we could share some dishes. The staff were enthusiastic, offering serving utensils; they repeatedly commented on how delighted they were with our pleasure enjoying the meal. We ordered 4 Appetizers, 2 Salads, 4 Pizzas and 3 Pastas. It is impossible to say which dishes were "the best." The seasonings in each preparation were distinct and well balanced. The hot foods were hot; the salad ingredients were cold & crisp. The pizza crust was perfect and the toppings delectable; the pizzas were baked in small rectangular pans, cut into 6 pieces; each piece had crust. The Pasta dishes were perfectly prepared, the flavors blended skillfully. And, the Cannoli...unlike, and better, than any Cannoli I've ever eaten in Sicily. My wife and I ate at Pomelia the other night after reading a nice article written in the local paper. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal. We had an early dining reservation and were greeted immediately by the hostess and were taken to our table and promptly served two glasses of water and menus. Soon thereafter our waitress brought over a bowl of delicious fresh bread while we reviewed the menu. I ordered the Spicy Ragu di Salsiccia and my wife ordered the Cesar Salad and the Rianata Pizza. The meals came promptly and were absolutely delicious. The server came and provided extra delicious bread which I used to scoop up the remaining Spicy Ragu sauce. The restaurant was quite packed by the time we finished our meal but they definitely were staffed for the surge. The only minor nit I had was that there were a little too many Romaine hearts in the Cesar salad. Other than that, great meals for the price, we'll be back! read more
