I had to take away 1 piece as we could not finish it. When the server packed it in the to go box, my daughter decided that she could not finish her pizza slice and wanted to take it to go. When she opened the to go box, she found 2 baby spiders crawling around the box. Obviously they are storing the boxes in an unhygienic place. I immediately took it to the server and all he said was "sorry". He asked if wanted another slice of any pizza for free. Thats it. It didnt seem to bother him and the order taker. My family hase been ordering from Pomodoro for years. We have it delivered to our home on a weekly basis because it is just that good. Their Chicken Parm, Penne a la Vodka and Garlic Bread are my favorites from the menu. The salads are also great. The marinara sauce is simply the best and they provide very generous portions. I visited the actual restaurant to pick up my order recently for the very first time. Although I did not dine in, it's a cozy little spot and they even have a rooftop. When I said my name, the folks recognized my voice from all the years of ordering & told me that it was finally nice to meet me in person. That speaks volumes about their customer service. My wife and I use to frequent here pre children at least once a week. They have an upstairs room for sit down dining, during the summer there is outside seating available. The upstairs area holds about 20 tables, that can seat 2 to 10. Waiters have to run up and down the stairs for service, the kitchen is on the ground level. The space fluctuate's during the seasons, summer could get too hot winter cold! The food is very good, I usually keep it simple and just get a cheesesteak sandwich with fried onions. The steak is very tender and juicy, onions are not burned, fried just right and the bread toasted enough for my liking. I'm a if it's not broke don't fix it type of person so that's my go too order. My wife is totally different. She'll order Shrimp Parmigiana with linguine, of course I sample a taste the shrimp are fresh and the pasta is done perfectly!! She loves the penne arrabiata with sliced grilled chicken. It's a little too spicy for me the sauce, but she loves the spice. Pizza is very good, not too doughy just the right texture. I would recommend pizza with sausage, peppers, and onions! Parking is accessible and abundant, but it is metered parking! They do offer delivery as well, but leave yourself enough time before you want to sit down for dinner, cause it could be lengthy before they arrive. But the quality is worth the wait! I remember this place being better. I've their chicken parm pizza, garden salad and their chicken caesar salad. Pizza was ok, very cheap with the chicken for the prize. Chicken caesar salad was ok, lettuce was old, disappointing. Garden salad is something so simple but it was below par. It's really disappointing when you order a salad and the lettuce is rotten and all stuck to each other like jellyfish. It was delivery so I had to pick through the salad to pick off the rotten pieces. Their room on the second floor is pretty romantic with a classic decoration and they also have a little patio outside As soon as we got out table, the waiter came in with free bread and water right away. So service is really good I tried classic fettuccine alfredo and my date tried the chicken scarpaciello. I've had pizza delivery from here twice. The margarita upon delivery was hot and delicious. I definitely would get this again and again. The thin crust nona was decent, but not my favorite. I can't believe I'm the first person to review Pomodoro. This place is AMAZING. There are so many good Italian restaurants nearby where all their food tastes very similar, but Pomodoro actually stands out from the rest. The menu itself it extensive, offering a large variety which does not help anyone who suffers from indecisiveness. While I have not tried everything on their menu, I love their pasta dishes and pizza. My favorite pizza slice is the vodka sauce pizza, which has caramelized onions underneath the sauce. Mmmmm. I have no idea why their pasta dishes taste so delicious, but I think they put a little something extra in there. My mom and I got a huge takeout order from here and all of our family members were raving about how good the food was. Our dinner consisted of the fried calamari appetizer, penne with vodka sauce, penne arrabbiata, orecchiette barese, and cannolis. It was all comfort food. After reading good reviews here, I thought I would give it a try. Pizza: I ordered a Margherita pizza and it arrived about an hour and 10 minutes after I ordered. It was still delivered within 75 minutes timeline as outlined online but it was cutting close. Of course, the pizza was cold when it arrived. Most oven baked thin crust pizzas have non-greasy crust. Unlike my expectations, the bottom of the pizza crust was pretty greasy like deep dish pizza. Overall, it was alright but it was nothing extraordinary. Buffalo Calamari: I have never had soggy and oily calamari like this. When I opened the box, what I saw was some soggy greens on calamari with sauce all over the place, leaking out of the box. Whose idea was it to put some greens on hot food? Even if I consider this small amount of greens as a ''garnish'', it was absolutely unappetizing to see this mess on calamari. As for the calamari itself, I think it was once crispy a long time ago. It's either they were not fried at the proper temperature or the sauce killed the texture. We ordered pasta arabiatta, which was steaming, flavorful and spicy. The bread was baked fresh. The next thing we got was a spicy calamari, again super flavorful with a spicy garlic sauce. However the one thing that we're definitely coming back for is the tiramisu, which was out of this world and one of the best we've ever had! The cappuccino went well with the tiramisu. Overall, very good Italian food. The pizza and calzone bread is thin and soft, as if it was made from imported Italian high gluten flour. The calzone is wonderful, especially with their fresh tomato dipping sauce, and stays fresh even when reheated the next day in the microwave. Their vodka sauce is excellent, particularly the rigatoni mallafemina. I've been very pleased with the service: I called 15 minutes before they closed and asked for delivery with multiple recipe additions to their dishes, and they were accommodating. Despite the stellar reviews on yelp, husband & I did not find the food to be memorable. I had tagliatelle with pesto sauce. Husband had the margherita pizza with pepperoni (he had to add some meat in there). Although the pasta did taste home made, there were some strands that hadn't separated. This led to little chunks that were not cooked sufficiently. Pesto sauce was way too bland for my taste. Not much flavor and so sooooo creamy (not in a good way) Pizza looked delicious however the proportion of toppings didn't feel/taste tight. Too much sauce maybe? Tomato sauce taste overwhelmed everything else. Also the bread (pizza) was eh. Just like the freebie bread they give you. It came out warm and I was so excited, but it was also...eh.. I have to say though, service was attentive, and genuinely friendly. Don't get me wrong, food wasn't terrible, just for the price, was average at best. My next favorite pizza place in the area after Brooklyns. it's very small and unassuming, but I really like it here. I haven't tried a whole lot of their entrees/pastas so i can't vouch for them. I actually was not impressed with their penne vodka (but i'm really picky about pasta). HOWEVER, their speciality pizzas are great.
