This place is SUCH A GEM - a little out of the way from things but so worth the trip!! Every single thing we ordered was absolutely amazing and I would be a regular if I lived here! We ordered the Antipasta salad - I have never had a more authentic, amazingly Italian salad before! It was out of this world! We also had the garlic knots - again - best garlic knots ever - I could have eaten the whole basket! It had real great garlic shreds and butter.....oh my! We also had the chicken parmigiana, homemade gnocchi and meat sauce and fettuccine Alfredo - I really could go on and on about how amazing it was - FULL flavor - your mouth just bursts with Italian flavor - just so amazing. This place is the little hole in the wall tucked away place you're looking for. Service is great, food is also great. We started with the baked clams & they were sooo good. Unfortunately we had a couple crunchy sand or shell fragments in the dish but we still finished which speaks to how great it was! My lamb with spinach & potatoes was perfectly cooked & delicious. My partner had raviolis with braised pork & porcini mushrooms, also excellent. Soo much garlic! So if you don't love garlic ask them to use sparingly. The garlic knots were really yummy & they just keep coming. I noticed that many people ordered pizzas to go while we were there & I hope to try the pizza soon. We went to the new Pomodoro pizza restaurant tonight and did not like it nearly as much as the one in Aurora. The server's English was not very good and he did not listen to what we wanted on the pizza. The order came out wrong and it was only lukewarm. The most annoying part was how loud the employees, especially the woman behind the bar were. They were laughing and visiting with each other and customers. As you may know, "pomodoro" is the Italian word for tomato (derived from the old expression "pomo d'oro" or "apple of gold") and consequently, the restaurant features many dishes allowing this little red sphere to shine and sparkle. I mean after all, most of the appetizers come with a side of succulent, long-simmered marinara sauce, whether you prefer a couple of herbaceous spinach pinwheel pastries, tooth-tender calamari, or even some decadent deep-fried cheese ravioli. But if instead you're seeking to see your veggie - non preoccuparti! I'm sure you'll find the Caprese salad to be to your liking with its creamy-squeaky (homemade too!) mozzarella, fragrant basil leaves, and, of course, firm (even... meaty?) tomato slices. Since Spanish is also proudly spoken in the establishment (¡claro que sí!), perhaps the presence of a plate of jalapeño poppers isn't too surprising either. This is a great little Italian restaurant! We started with an order of garlic bread, which doesn't look like any other garlic bread I have seen, but is one of the best tasting I have ever had! For dinner, I got the homemade meat lasagna and my fiancé got the chicken and shrimp scampi. My meat lasagna was very good but HUGE! My fiancé would have preferred more pasta with his and he said the garlic was pretty strong, but it was still good. We also were surprised with an order of garlic knots which my fiancé actually preferred over the garlic bread. The entrees took awhile to come out, but we assumed it was probably due to my lasagna cooking. A friend and I had lunch at the new Pomodoros on Monaco and Mexico yesterday. We shared a medium margarita pizza and we each had a Caesar salad. The salads were large enough to stop there. They were delicious because they put the dressing on in the kitchen. I tend to skimp on dressing if it's served on the side. The pizza was delicious but it was overcooked. I asked about sending it back but our very good waitress said that was the way they come. A thin pizza needs a softer crust and I judge a pizza by the crust. Unfortunately I couldn't taste the crust so I can't give this place 5 stars. There are so many pizzerias in town who get it right. read more

My wife and I tried Pomodoro's on a whim. Glad we did! We tried the Fried Zucchini, house salad with basalmic dressing, supreme pizza and the Sebastian's pizza. The Sebastian's pizza has Penne pasta and a Ragu sauce. It sounds weird but turns out to be really good! The supreme pizza is what you would expect with pepperoni, sausage, mushrooms, olives, green peppers and red onions. I subbed the onions for garlic. This pizza was great but the Sebastian's was better. Everything was absolutely delicious. For a mom-and-pop owned neighborhood restaurant Pomodoro's delivers top notch Italian food. It's in a shopping strip so doesn't look like much from the outside but the interior is nice and service was great. I am typically very hesitant of Italian restaurants. Why go if you can make it at home? Not at Pomodoro, the food and the service can not easily be replicated anywhere. The restaurant and the service just feels so genuine and kind. Really a classic, red checkered table cloth, Italian joint that gives a damn about the quality of its food. I will come back again and again and I think you should too! The star dishes I highly recommend are the Burrata, Chicken Sorrentino, and a Canoli with a bit of Olive oil to really put a special umph to the experience. read more
