Great experience at That Supper Club with their seasonal tasting menu hosted at Pop Empanada. From the moment we walked in, the vibe was on point and intimate, elevated, and super welcoming. Tommy greeted us right away and set the tone for the night, making us feel like we were in for something special and he delivered. As each course came out, he broke everything down with real knowledge and passion, which made the whole experience even better. The tasting menu itself was . Every plate was well thought out, balanced, and full of flavor from the snack trio to the pastas and finishing dessert. You could tell there was intention behind every ingredient and presentation. We also added on the East Coast oysters and the 40-day dry-aged filet mignon for the table, both were 100% worth it. The oysters were fresh and clean with that perfect bite, and the filet? Cooked perfectly, rich, tender, and easily one of the highlights of the night. Honestly, even without the add-ons, the tasting menu gives you plenty to eat, but those extras take it to another level. Shoutout to the wine selection too, we paired the night with a Caymus Cabernet 2017, which complemented everything beautifully. Smooth, bold, and just the right choice to ride through all the courses. To top it off, Chef Nicholas came out at the end, which always adds that personal touch. The crust was perfectly Flaky and crispy , filled perfectly so that there aren't air pockets or filling is spilling all over. We had the cheeseburger and the brisket. The meat was mouthwatering in both. You could taste the smoke in the brisket as promised and the meat melts in your mouth. The Pat LaFreida Cheeseburger empanada was just that! It did. Not. Disappoint. If you are a true "New Yorker" like me, think of an upscale chopcheese wrapped in an empanada. Insert kiss to the sky! Finally a little bit of NY close to my new home.
