Delicious HK style food with generous servings, very friendly wait staff, and plenty of seating. Something I wasn't expecting to enjoy was their tea. After talking to the waitress, we discovered it was lychee flavored black tea, much better tasting than most tea served at restaurants.

Went for steamed seafood but a lot of things are sold out (for lunch hours already??) or have to pre-order more than 24h before. The stuff we did order were prepared live so really fresh. Fried crab was also tasty. We ended up spending ~$60 per person so I'd say the store is actually $$$ if you go for steamed seafood. The menu items are quite expensive so not sure if it's worth it comparing to buying the same the same thing and steaming at home. There weren't a lot of people for weekend lunch hour, and while we were there, it seems like people in the kitchen are having a fight - a male and a female were yelling to each other very loudly in a dialect for ~30min, which strongly hurt our dinning experience.

The food here is unique and the price is reasonable. I like their free tea too. It taste like rose but in fact it is a lychee flavor. I like having the pork stomach and chicken with pepper soup to warm me up. Black bean clams were tasty and the mixed mushroom and bean fish had variety of items to taste. We didn't feel rushed out and just chilled, ate and drank slowly. This is a hidden gem in Daly City. There's even a parking lot.

Stopped by for lunch to catch up with an old friend and shared a couple of dishes. This place is too cute! Ambiance is chill and casual. The ceilings have decor of a combination of Disney and anime characters. Going to the gender neutral bathroom, there are different things on the walls, which are nice. We shared the Scrambled egg with Prawn Chow Fun and the Half Hainanese Chicken. So tasty and fresh! Love it when food comes out piping hot! Waitress was friendly, but did not speak much English. Good thing my friend is fluent in Cantonese and spoke to her well. When my son was done with his karate clinic, he ordered the beef chow, fun and mushroom and Chinese green, which were also so yummy! check out my pics and come here to see for yourself!

*Please note this is a review that I wrote in May 2019 that got lost in my drafts* Made reservations for a party of 4 and ordered the set dinner menu. Interesting concept, but at the end of the day it's just steamed food. They really need to work on customer service. No greeting whatsoever and they don't tell you the item(s) they are serving. They just plop it down on the steamer and close it. As soon as the steamer opens, they rush over to remove the plate and serve each person. One of the servers kept saying "soup" in Cantonese and English. Pricey for what it is and I don't see myself returning as there's nothing special about this place.

This is my second time coming here. My first time was before pandemic. I am glad that they have more menu options. The Hainanese Boneless Chicken is perfectly cooked and tasty. The Baked Chicken in Portuguese Style with Spaghetti is creamy and tender. The Crispy Pork Intestines is crispy but it had a very strong taste. I can't stand the taste. Not recommend this dish. Note: Dine in price is different than pick up order price. For example: The Baked Chicken dine in was $13.95 but if you order for pick up for same portions. It just costs $10. Almost four dollars different. The customer service is good. I definitely will come back for the Whole Chicken Menu $25 and the $10 menu. :)

Pop kitchen was def not worth my money. We barely order some items and our bill was over 100$. We left still hungry and felt like we paid way more for the little we had. I understand that they "serve" you and give you fresh seafood. But it wasn't worth what we paid and it made it worse that we left unsatisfied. I should never leave a restaurant still hungry with a bill of over a hundred. On a positive note the experience was something new. Will I be back and recommend? No I'm good. Save your money and put it towards a better place. read more

Yes, this place is a bit expensive but besides from the cost, we all really enjoyed it. The people serving us were all fast and helpful as much as they could on a busy night. The seafood was so fresh and delicious. If I can afford it, I would come more often! read more

Omg this place is crazy !# i had so much fun i forgot to take pics lol. Dont come here unless your open to weird amazing out of the box experience. I had jellyfish salad It was sooooooo yum. Don't forget to try the sea cucumber or abalone thats just to start . everything here is steamed and comes with a flavorful sauce thats to die for i can't wait to come back read more

We order the 4 person set dinner, with some dim sum additions during lunch time. The clams, scallops and oysters were very tender and cooked perfectly. We got complementary 6 abalones and it was very tender. The seafood was very fresh. At the end of the meal you get a soup with all the drippings from the steamer with chicken and other herbs they put in the beginning. Overall the food was good and fresh. I liked how the servers cooked everything for you. The dome from the steamer rises after each plate is done so there isn't any guess work when it is ready. The food does take some time to cook but it was done in a timely matter. I think the length of time depends on how much you ordered. We ordered a lot so it took more than an hour from start to finish but it was worth it. read more

I did something I haven't in a long time. I decided I wanted to try something new so did a random site and found this place. Initially I wasn't sure what to expect but it turns out we have a new hot pot that is unique. Instead of cooking the food yourself they come out with the food and steam it. It is not soup but rather steamed. Very yummy and the service is very good. Often hot pots have issues with service but not this place. If you are looking for something new in ssf try this lace. read more

At first I did not like coz I thought it was one of those korean hot pot where I have to cook. But not .. The waiters and their high tech steamer do all the cooking.. All are fresh and you make your own sauces.. My waiters were nice and will return again read more

First time here with my girlfriends. What a cool shabu concept. There is soup base option and porridge option. We opted for the porridge and it did not disappoint. Quality food steamed in front of you. Unique concept with pot on bottom, electric steamer with thin grill grate over the pot. Then a glass lid so you can watch the food steam. Crab, scallops, clams, oysters tasted so fresh and delicious. The magic dipping sauce was sooo good! The staff was very attentive, made sure our water was refilled changed our plates. Service was superior!! Trendy ambiance! Great place for family or just getting together with friends. read more

Came here for lunch on a weekday. The vibe here is fun and eclectic. Loved watching the steamer work right in front of me. Felt like we were in a futuristic restaurant! Ordered two to-go sets: one curry chicken one and one braised pork ribs. Both came with a generous portion of rice and cabbage. It also had a starter soup with chicken feet, ginger, and pork which unfortunately was very dry and bland. The rice soaked up the curry and pork juices very well and ultimately saved this from being a three-star review. Will definitely be back soon to try their specialties. read more

This place is cool for its steamer. It takes a little long but it's pretty cool to watch it cook your food in front of you. Their lunch specials are also really good. They give you this big pot filled with vegetables and dumplings and all sorts of seafood. And it's piping hot, which is great! Each person also gets some yummy dipping sauce too. read more

Found this on Yelp and am so happy we decided to eat here! Such a unique experience... your food is steamed right in front of you. The majority of the menu is steamed and then you have dim sum served ALL DAY and some other items such as onion pancake that's cooked in the kitchen. Not sure how it will handle a full restaurant, but our experience was great. The owner/manager was super friendly and funny so we really enjoyed our experience. Will definitely be back! read more

Great style of cooking!! We ordered clams, fish, shrimps, beef balls and veggie. They were all on a steam pan with many small holes. A mechanical cover was lowered to cover the food and steamed. we can taste the natural favors of the food. Love the original tastes. Moreover, under the steam pan, there was a pot of porridge that collected all the favors from the steamed food. The porridge was very tasty and yummy. Thumb up!! Definitely will go again!! What a healthy way to eat. Friendly service!! 5 stars well deserved!! read more

The quality and balance of the ingredients were excellent. At one point I actually caught myself closing my eyes just to focus on the taste, which is something I almost never do. The preparation felt very refined and the flavors were elevated, rich, and memorable. I would describe it as delicate portions with very elevated flavors. Because of that, I'm giving this place 5 out of 5 stars. This is the kind of restaurant that works perfectly for a nice dinner with your partner. The yakimono the butter wasn't overpowering and was well balanced with the ingredients. There was also a fried appetizer that was good but the name of it escapes me. Certainly worth the price tho if I had more people with me, I would definitely get reservations.

We had Japanese wagyu ($25.95), prime beef ($6.95), pork jowl ($3.95), shitake mushroom ($2.95), chicken thigh ($2.95), pork sausage and marinated meat skewers. We enjoyed everything that came out. Service was great and attentive. It was pretty much one server for the entire restaurant so she was running around to all the tables... The meats were good and the ones that were pre-seasoned were good too. Otherwise the dipping sauces were tasty. They bring out the skewers little by little and you can place the cooked meats on this rack-like contraption that sits near the grill and eat them at your own pace. I really liked this concept. I absolutely love Eggs Benedict, and so it's a no brainer for me if it is on the menu. One can upgrade the dish to include Thai style Dungeness crab cakes, and it is worth every penny. Service here is also warm and inviting. Depending on where one is going, the time of the flight, the time of season, and overall time one has; staying at Grand Hyatt SFO and getting a bite at sit down, in this case Quail + Crane; makes all the difference for a long journey ahead.

Came here specifically for the Dry Pot, a brothless version of hot pot where everything gets stir…read morefried and simmered together. Noodles, meats, veggies, chiles, aromatics. No water, just pure concentrated flavor. The restaurant gets its name from simmering, one of the essential Chinese cooking techniques, and you can taste that philosophy across the whole menu. The Dry Pot lived up to the hype, but the real surprise was the skewers. Beef, lamb, and chicken, intensely flavorful and rich. I can't stop thinking about them. The potstickers were also way better than expected. Usually a throwaway order at most places, but here they were juicy and packed with flavor. The beef pancakes were fantastic. Golden and crispy on the outside, juicy flavor bomb on thes inside. Both crunchy and a little chewy (in the good way). Came back a few weeks later with friends and ordered the whole grilled fish, which I'd been eyeing since my first visit. It looked magnificent, but it didn't really pop the way the other dishes did. If you love fish it's worth trying, but the dry pot, skewers, beef pancakes, and dumplings are the stars here. We also got a few veggie dishes which were all great accompaniments...but nobody is here for the veggies. A few practical notes. They have a beer tap but it doesn't work, so if you're into beer, they've got a few options by the bottle. Parking is easy since it's in the Serramonte Center, and you can combine it with a trip to Jagalchi, Target, or whatever else you need. Both times I came there was plenty of seating. I'll be back soon, and next time I'm getting the dry pot with their handmade noodles.

Unique dinning experience and fantastic service! A transparent steamer cooks what u have ordered right in front of you. Many choices of fresh foods like veggies, meats and seafoods. Healthy cooking style and bring the most delicious to your taste buds. Definitely a hidden gem in the Daly City area. This place has very interesting concept in cooking their food. The food here was good and had good variety of seafood with good flavours even though it was being steamed. The staff was very friendly and very attentive. Our waitress gave us recommendations on what to eat and how to enjoy our food and would also tell us if we're over ordering.
