I like how it has the pumpkin flavor and not overly sweet or salty. There's a variety of ingredients in the pot which is great. The only down side is it's about $17 before tax and the portion of a bit in the smaller size. Like they only put half of a fishball instead of whole one. But nonetheless good to see them having businesses. I love boiling point and can't help but compare the two. This place is definitely cheaper and has a lot more flavor selections. One of the many "variations" of boiling point. But I love that unlike some copycats of BP, this place offers a much different menu. My current fav is Sour Napa (酸白菜豬肉). Pop Pot is here to stay and is one of the tastiest hot pot spots in Diamond Bar. I have been here during lunchtime and dinner time and both of those times I did have wonderful service. This style of hot pot is pretty much one pot per person. You can order a variety of different flavors, vegetables, and meats in them. There are Korean, Japanese, Thai, and Chinese pots filled with different ingredients and tastes. The pot gets to your table and then the server lights up a burner that will heat all the stuff that is in the pot. It's a cool thing to see if you haven't done this before. The food also comes with your choice of white rice or some vermicelli noodles (uncooked). I usually get the noodles and you just dump them in the pot to cook them. My favorite pot flavor is the Japanese sukiyaki hot pot, this one has udon noodles in it and also an egg which I love to eat. The flavor of the broth is spot on and I am a total fan of this place! Located in a plaza, there was a abundant amount of parking available at 9pm. I love Korea Army Soup so i thought this would be just like it - it wasn't exactly it but close. The base is generally good, however towards the end the cheese DOMINATED the taste. Not in a good way. I personally couldn't finish the soup as it has a "throw up" taste to it. I recommend to hold off on the cheese if possible. My "pot" was the largest compared to two of my friends. The presentation does not look like the picture, it was mission inoki mushroom. The food came very quickly. one thing I like about this small pot place is the soup is not too salty. I ordered lamp soup. It has a good lamp flavor, a good amount of lamp meat, with a clear & light lamp flavor soup. I love it. If you go to a small pot place that has super flavorful soup, 99% chance it's just water + salt + bunch of sauce.... So I appreciate this place making the lamp soup simple. The only thing I wish can be different is hard to get the server's attention, we ate for one hour and want to get them checked, so I waved my hand's couple of times. She was too busy to see me. It's more like a 3.5 stars but I rounded up to support this business. Taste was decent, sauce is similar to BP. There's less ingredients when compared to BP but overall an enjoyable dinner! We were put in a room for our party of 10 and it was nice as we got a private space to talk and chat and be loud with kids. I found Pop Pot while searching for a hotpot place with LATE hours (past 10pm), and Pop Pot showed up as one of the only options in the area! Most other hotpot places seem to close around 9 or 10pm. My mom and I came for a late dinner after spending a day at Disneyland, super hungry for a warm meal, and Pop Pot totally hit the spot! It was our first time having hotpot in over a year and it truly felt like such a treat. They have a big variety of hotpots and seem to have all of the most common hotpot flavors like stinky tofu/house special, lamb, korean kimchi, seafood, etc. Their prices are a little higher than I recall most other places - the lamb pot was priced around $17 for the dinner price, and it didn't seem to be a larger size. However, that may just be a result of COVID, in which case it's totally understandable. I got the Sour Cabbage pot, while my mom ordered the Mushroom one and we both really enjoyed our food! Sauces were served in disposable cups. Our server was attentive and really pleasant, which we appreciated. It's worth mentioning that they have private rooms for karaoke here, so naturally on a Saturday night there was a lot of noise and activity from those rooms. We might've even seen a guy stumble out of a room, saying he was really drunk, haha. I've been coming to Pop Pot for a while now. One of the best things about this place is that there is usually no wait to get seated unlike Boiling Point where the wait times are outrageous. I always get the beef hot pot because you can never go wrong with it. I love the amount of food they give you in the pot - I just wish it was consistent cause sometimes I feel like I am missing either the vermicelli noodles, the imitation crab, etc. I wish if they were out of an item they would let me know so at least I'm mentally prepared. The beef is tender, the broth is delicious and I love coming here during lunch because of the free tea they give you, either green tea or winter melon. The winter melon in my opinion tastes like caramelized brown sugar, it's absolutely delicious. The most recent time I came here, about 4 days ago, I wish they gave our table ice to make the tea cold. I had hotpot at Pop Pot 2 days in a roll. I ordered Pumpkin pot twice and the soup base was also great and flavorful and consistent with lots of ingredients like usual. The lady told us that today is National boba day (4/30) so we could choose pearl milk tea for free (usually iced green tea or black tea for free). The free boba drinks were tasty and boba were soft and fresh! We also ordered other 2 drinks of mango slush with QQ and hazelnut milk tea with QQ also tasted delicious! The house special pot was also delicious and the stinky tofu wasn't that stinky. For the Popcorn chicken rice, the popcorn chicken tasted salty, but it was okay to mix with rice. Same as sweet potato fries, they were way too salty as well. We felt thirsty afterwards, I think it was the MSG. Other than that, we were satisfied by their hotpot and drinks though. Just found an authentic Taiwanese hotpot spot--finally! I went with the satay beef pot and wow, the flavor did not disappoint. The portion was generous too, which is always a win. One of my favorite hot pot places in the area - the flavor of food just reminds me of Taiwan. I like that you get your own hot pot and the ingredients are already set depending on the flavor you choose. It's super worth it to come for lunch since you also get either a black or green tea with your meal.
