I was out and about running errands in Laurel and just heard about the fish sandwich so I figured I'd give it a try. The entrance and appearance of this restaurant was not very welcoming so I opted to do the drive-through instead of going inside. Based on the service I got, I guess I Made a good call staying in my car. I received EXACTLY what I did NOT order. Let's discuss... I specifically asked for the fish sandwich combo. I asked for the Classic Flounder Combo. Instead, I received the Spicy Flounder Combo. I asked for 'extra tartar sauce' and when I tell you, there was no more than a quarter size of tartar sauce on that *Sahara dry* fillet, between two unseasoned buns, believe me. This sandwich was so dry that I had to go home and create a sauce just to eat this fillet. CRIME!!! In my combo, I also asked for a large fry. Success! That was executed perfectly. SCORE! Lastly, I asked for a half-and-half (1/2 iced tea ; 1/2 lemonade). It's really not that complicated. When she handed me a drink and I saw how dark it was I asked if this was an actual half-and-half with lemonade. She affirmed that it was and thanked me for coming. That drink was nothing more than a super sugary Sweet Tea. Not a disgusting drink, just not what I asked and paid for. CRIME! sweet sugary CRIME! Summary: The staff need to be trained exactly WHAT is what on their menu and it would help to listen to the customer's simple requests. The only way that I would be returning to this establishment is if someone that I'm with wanted to go there to grab a bite. Naturally, I would recommend anywhere else. But hey, who knows? read more

This place the only good thing about this place is that the night shift guy is probably the best person working. He has amazing customer service at the window. If you decide to come any other time. Yes the food comes out fast but the order is 9 times out of 10 wrong. 2. They limit How many specials they give out at their restaurant a day. When the $20 family box came out recently. I was told amind other customers in line were told we don't have any more availabl. So some of us were forced to by family meals that were 5 to 10 dollars more to feed or families. How do you run out of specials that are a country Wide promo. and this hasn't happened just with this special it's happen with multiple over the course of months. They never have certain items that are main staples for Popeyes, like mash potatoes, biscuits that aren't hard as a brick, certain drink selections that are best sales like the sweet tea or the speciality drinks that be promoted. Lastly how do you run out of a sauce for the wings unless it has been discontinued from the company itself. They never have the adver signature hot sauce for the wings that is a country wide selection on every Popeyes. I've given this review a lot of thought. I'm not in the business of slamming restaurants, especially knowing what everyone is going through today with staffing (or lack thereof). With that said, sometimes information just needs to be shared. I found this Popeyes while doing a quick Google of nearby restaurants when traveling home from DC one day. I am a Popeyes fanatic, but I only visit them a few times a year. Being a quick service restaurant I'm not expecting the world. I want their food to be consistent, fresh and hot...that's about it. This Popeyes is seriously one of the strangest places I have been to. I walked in behind one person who placed his order at the counter. He stood in front of the register and waited after ordering, the cashier walked away. Typically when a customer stands in the way the employees politely say to the person behind them "can I help you". Not here, nope, she walked about ten feet back to the kitchen and started dancing to the music that was playing. This went on along with some joking and talking with an employee in the back. Finally the food for the person in front of me was ready, she bagged it and handed it to him. One step closer I hoped. The interaction with the cashier was what I would expect in a Popeyes, not great, not horrible, simply an order taker. I'm fine with that. She took my order for spicy tenders with fries. She walked back to where the cooked food was being held and threw away what appeared to be well over 30 tenders. Fine for me as they made them fresh but I can't imagine with this type of behavior the restaurant can sustain, they have to be losing money hand over fist. She mentioned something to the employee in the kitchen (who appeared to be the only one working with some sense of urgency), that they needed more spicy tenders. I stepped aside so the person that just came in with her bag of food she received in the drive thru could fix whatever had happened. Nope! The cashier this time, went back, broke out some quick dance moves and then made a fast exit to the dining room. She stood out there eating food talking to another employee. The other employee I watched build a plate of food from all of the hot foods mixed with what I can only imagine was food from home (unless Popeyes started selling tacos). Again, I know this doesn't matter to customers but when there is rampant theft like this, in the end the customers are punished (more on this later). Finally, after the cashier finished her meal, she came back and packed my food. It probably took about 25 minutes from entrance to exit and if they had been more attentive could've taken half that. The food, well, the tenders were hot but I was shorted on quantity (by two) and the fries, cold and greasy. I was on the road back to Philly, I attempted to call but the phone wasn't answered. And the poor woman who was waiting so patiently behind me, was only waiting for the sandwich they forgot to give her in the drive thru. This was not a case of being short staffed, there were plenty of employees. And I firmly believe in allowing employees time to eat, but during the lunch rush in a restaurant is not the time. Nor should the food be picked over like a buffet...at least in the view of the customer. This is one of the few places I would recommend for everyone to avoid. read more

So, I got caught up in the fish sandwich craze. I know, I know, crazy right. At least there were no extreme lines at every Popeyes like there were for the infamous chicken sandwich release. I really like this particular location, because it is never busy. It sits off of the road and is kind of hiding in the cut, so it doesn't get ridiculous amounts of traffic. The staff is friendly and the restaurant stays fully stocked. It's unbelievable how many Popeyes ran out of chicken, as if it isn't one of the only things they sell. Now, to the sandwich. It was wrapped horribly. I removed the special bag holding the sandwich and it literally fell through. I am not sure if it was supposed to be open on both sides, but it was. Luckily, I didn't drop it on the floor. The inside of the bread was pretty soggy, not sure if it was the tarter sauce or steam from the hot fish, but my sandwich was pretty much flat. The flavors were decent, the Cajun spices were just right, not overwhelming and they give you a pretty big piece of flounder. All and all, the sandwich was good, but it is nothing to write home about. But, with an entire meal costing less than 7 bucks, it made for an affordable lunch. read more

The food was actually halfway decent. I will admit that, but the service???? Not so much. I came in with a coworker for lunch and we stood away from the register as we were finishing our conversation about a work situation before ordering. The cashier stood at the register and said loudly "HELLOOOOO???? Are you ready to order???" So, I responded, "No we are not ready to order yet." He scoffed and turned to walk away while mumbling under his breath to what appears to be a male manager and other older female employee. There was no one waiting in line and we were not preventing anyone from ordering. There was only one other person who had ordered and was waiting on their meal. A moment later, we each ordered and the cashier was not friendly, but not overly rude either. When he handed us our separate receipts I noticed he had me identified as "BRAIDS". Instead of asking, "Can I have a name for the order?" The cashier wrote just typed in "BRAIDS" knowing it would appear on my receipt. My coworker was identified as "PURPLE" because he was wearing a purple shirt. All I can say is, "Chick-Fila would NEVER!" If the customer was bald or had thinning hair, should "BALD" or "RECEDING HAIR" be the way you identify someone? My coworker's order was made incorrectly twice and had to be returned but eventually it was done right. They need to shut this place down! They're rude, have no manners. Just pure attitude, always serve dry old chicken, or chicken that doesn't appear to be drained. They're now serving you their "new size medium" which is a small, and I mean a small that would be associated with a kid size meal. NO other Popeyes in the area or in DV have downsized their sizes which makes this even more suspicious. It the worse and I've given them multiple chances to save face. First the girl behind the counter literally had zero command of the English language to which she had to keep asking another employee what to get. They substituted rice and gravy for large mashed potatoes and gravy and I didn't know it until I got home . They had never mentioned that they were out of potatoes or anything else. I bypass the Popeyes off route 1 and go to this Popeyes on Tuesdays for their two piece dark meat special for $1.50. Plan on going there after work and getting at least 12 pieces of chicken. This is my usual Popeyes, but not anymore Went for the $5.00 four piece mixed chicken, recieved two breasts, half of a thigh, and a miniature leg. The breast was due to being out of wings. The half of a chicken thigh, I have no idea why that young girl put it in my box. The smaller breast was dry to the bone, such a disappointment. The only piece that was edible was the 2nd breast. I ordered and payed on line--Went throught drive through to pick up the order--waited 25 mintues in drivethrough line--(there is no way to get out of line and you are stuck until you get to the window)--Gave the man my name SCOTT--he acted like it was some word I just made up--like it wasn't even a word--he said--ott??, I said not Scott--he looked at me quizically and said sot? I don't come to this location often, because it is not convenient, but today I was passing by and decided to stop by to try their chicken nuggets. First of all, there were only two cars ahead of me in the drive-through line. I ordered 24 pieces of chicken nuggets and I had to wait for a little over 15 minutes for my order. Just the ONE item! I asked for barbecue and honey mustard sauce and I cannot believe that I only received two honey mustard and two barbecue of these tiny ass containers of sauces. I had no way of knowing that four sauces would not be enough for 24 chicken nuggets, because I don't know the sizes of the nuggets and this is my first time, but the people who work there should know better. Now I don't know what I will use to eat the rest of them. Aside from that the nuggets tasted good, a little plain, could have used some seasoning and spices, but they still had a good taste to them and the sauce helped with the rest. So, after I get off from work, I bypass a couple other Popeyes to go to this one because I figured the line would not as long because it's off the main road. Lies I told myself! I'm handed the "iced" tea with NO ice & it's hot! Like, WTH! I just take the cup because I'll put ice in it when I get home. I take a sip as I'm driving and it taste funny, so down the drain it goes as soon as I get in the house. I decided to take a bite of the sandwich. Ummm gross! It was more like a sauce sandwich! The chicken & bun were both hard...so that means the sandwich is old & been under a light! Moving on...I get home, wash my hands and open the box because I'm starving. Further disappointment!!! Where is my 3pc white meat? I have 3, greasy looking piece of dark meat!!! The biscuit is as hard as a hockey puck! Needless to say, I wasted $13.33! I should have gone somewhere else! I usually don't leave such a low rating. This Popeyes by far has had the worst customer service. I have experienced other Popeyes food is usually consistent and fresh. I wanted to try the fish sandwich. I had to order again only to find out it with was soggy and the bread didn't hold up. This is something you must eat right away. I ordered from Door dash, I was brought the wrong order. Mistakes happen I understand but the way it was handled was blow standard. I called the restaurant thinking I could get the correct order. They never answered the phone. I called during normal business hours to my avail it suddenly started going straight to voice mail. I called customer service I was able to get a refund 3 days later but never was able to get my original order....I'm so disappointed I don't know when I'll go back anytime soon. read more

This is the absolute worst Popeyes I have ever encountered. I have come to this Popeyes 3 times and each of those times, I hope for the best and got the worst Instance 1: The store/dining hours state that they are open till 11. Came at 9, door was locked. Ask the manager, what was up. He said he couldn't let us in. He letting the staff go home. All were under 18 and the only employee over 21 was on drive thru and of course that line was hella long. Instance 2: came to the drive thru at 10 and was closed down, no sign, no notice. Instance 3: online ordering experience. I receive 2/3 of my order. Drive to the stOre to get my missing order. They telling me it's nothing they can do. How is it, my receipt shows different from what their receipt shows? In both the above instances, the manager was Dennis. He gives a idgaf attitude. Shrugging his shoulders at everything. Now. As a former employee years ago and current lovers of other chains, manager in training, my manager would never! Customer service is always top priority, but Dennis definitely can give no Damns about pleasing the customer or resolving any issues. This was my absolute last straw. I will make that extra drive to the other Popeyes off Baltimore, I never have had issues. I went in around 10:18pm last night. Came home and tried the food, the chicken tenders were so bad, that I couldn't eat them. The fries were super cold and the only thing ok was the biscuit. I don't know how the are still in operation, I threw all that food except the biscuit away. Horrible experience and horrible service.
