I drive by this Popeyes often but I had never been until today. I was craving some chicken and I hadn't been to a Popeyes in over a year but I know they have some goooood chicken. There was no line, I was the only one in the drive thru and no cars parked outside. I got to the drive thru and started my order. The entire time the person on the other end was rushing through my order. When they asked if I needed anything else, I was scanning the menu for maybe 2 seconds before they told me my total.... I did want something else but at this point I just felt like a nuisance to ask. I grabbed my food and went home. I come home and to no surprise, my order was wrong and no sauce. They rushed me so fast I couldn't even think about sauce. I'm giving this place a 2 because despite all of this, I still got some kind of chicken and it was good. BEWARE! I have not eaten at Popeyes previous to today. I ordered a flounder sandwich, coleslaw, and mashed potatoes. There was a language barrier as I tried to find out if the potatoes were "real fresh" or "flaked/powdered". My order should have come with a beverage, but I do not drink soda and was told that they did not have water??? I sat down to eat and found that the flounder was very good, as was the coleslaw, but the potatoes were awful - totally pre-fab. There was a sign at the register about "return or exchange", so I took the potatoes up and requested a refund. The manager told me that because I had eaten some (one bite to see WHAT IT TASTED LIKE) he could not give me a refund. I asked, "how do I know what it tases like if I do not taste it???" He expected me to return it BEFORE I tasted it?????? The fish sandwich and coleslaw were good, but not good enough EVER return to Popeyes. P.S. This place seems to be experiencing some growing pains. I stopped by last Friday evening around 7. When I arrived, there were already a significant number of people ahead of me who had been awaiting their orders for some time. I chose a 12 piece mixed spicy/mild combo with 3 sides. I waited for over 30 minutes. Seriously. However, I'll add that the staff seemed genuinely concerned about the long delays in getting out not just mine but numerous other orders as well. When my number was finally announced, the person who handed me the bag sincerely apologized for any inconvenience and I could only smile and say "no worries" in return. Everyone was just that nice and besides, other customers had waited patiently along with me without making a fuss. When I got home, I was very pleasantly surprised to discover that apparently to make up for the excessive wait time they added two extra pieces of chicken to each side for a total of 16. A gesture both savvy and classy. Duly noted! I liked the spicy variety while my son preferred the mild. Both had a good, crunchy fried coating and were moist and flavorful inside. The red beans and rice were dense and smoky, the mashed potatoes satisfying with a dollop of gravy and the creamy cole slaw was quite tasty. The biscuits were very good as well. The two of us ended up making three meals out of this order. We'll be back for more. read more

BUT this drive thru experience was nothing short of delightful! I kid you not! The man who took our order was the most courteous demeanor that I've ever heard . The lady that handed us the order at the window was adorably friendly and funny. And our order was perfect - hot, fast, delicious, and exactly as ordered. I don't know who is running the show there - but give your staff a raise and give them our highest compliments. We enjoyed the visit so much that we nearly drove around to order again just to enjoy the experience all over again. But we don't want to get that fat. Settled for this review instead. read more

I dined in at noon on a Monday. The place was busy but not too crowded. I ordered a classic chicken sandwich, mashed potatoes and mac & cheese, which they brought to the counter in about 20 seconds. Tasted great. This was the week after Thanksgiving and they had tasteful Christmas decorations and jazzy instrumental music throughout the restaurant. Second time I have visited a Popeyes. I honestly do not know where you can get good fried chicken with out the staff being cheap. I had to ask for the dipping sauce that came with the meal. The owner acted like that put him out. I then had to ask for butter and honey for my biscuit. I Didn't get a pleasent look after that. The only condiment they have sitting out is pepper. Yes, only pepper. Like salt is to expensive or in this neighborhood the folks here steal the salt packets. After 2 visits at 2 different places I am done. I will go to Hy-Vee to get my fried chicken. Yes the Hy-Vee's that are moving into MN have fried chicken and it is better then KFC or this pot hole. I grew up next to a Hy-Vee so it's nice to have there fried chicken again. Worst Popeyes I've ever been to Corporate Popeyes would be ashamed if they knew.... They charge $.35 for each additional dipping sauce. Fine whatever, but they don't do this it at any other Popeyes. I work right next door and am used to the frivolous charge. 2 weeks ago I ordered food from drive thru to take home to my wife. I am charged almost $2.00 for all of the extra sauces, as I requested 1 of every flavor. I get home and none of the sauces are in the bag. Upset on principle alone. I returned yesterday with all of my coworkers, again asked to pay for sauces. My response to the cashier "but I was at the drive thru 2 weeks and didn't get my sauces" The drive thru attendant butts into the conversation and no joke with a bad and defensive attitude says "I put them in there". My response "you remember giving me Sauces 2 weeks ago?" She responds again "yep, I put them in there". Here is the best part. I pay for my sauces, and wait for my food. I overhear my coworker say, "I always order the 3 piece, it doesn't matter if I order a 3, 4, or 5 piece tender, they always give me 5. Sure enough... I watch him and another co worker both get 5 piece meals, while ordering 3 piece. Consistently, everytime they go. Corporate should be ashamed.... Sad experience multiple times... Yes it is a "fast food" place, so waiting 5 mins to you might seem like a lot. I don't mind - I know I'm waiting because they're cooking my chow... It hasn't been sitting around for 3 hours. Today I had one of my faves - 2 chicken wrap combo with Cajun ("dirty") rice. Deeeelish! It comes with a biscuit, which was soft, flaky, buttery, and warm - exactly the way they should be. I do think the yelling in the kitchen was a little distracting, if you're a picky sort but I was alone so I found it entertaining. My cashier was super friendly, and they have Strawberry Fanta on tap for soda. I might be back tomorrow. read more

*Note this review intends to recognize this restaurant for what it is and as such should be read as a review of a fast food restaurant and not as a review of some other classy place. The inside lobby was very clean and taken care of. Our order arrived very quickly and they took extra care to get it right(we exchanged a corn for the biscuit). The food, as with any fried chicken, was awesome (I don't think it's possible to get this wrong). The one complaint I had was the counter employee didn't smile. I know how much the job can suck (worked at KFC for 5 years), but you can at least fake it for me. :) They did thank us as we left though, giving us that great southern hospitality everyone loves. read more
