The homemade bread was soft and delicious. The chicken club easily had half a pound of cooked bacon on it. Before we ever took our first bites, we knew we would need to go boxes. Wait, did I mention we had the most wonderful cheese curbs as an appetizer? Worth ordering but only if you split a sandwich!! There are a handful of booths in the front area along with seating along the bar. TVs in the main room. There is also a back room that would hold maybe another 40 people. This tavern has been in place for years under different names. I would love to hear the history. I could see a set up that would have been particularly useful for gambling & drinking during prohibition. The staff was very efficient and helpful. One person out front & one in back. Then, after waiting more than an hour for our food, the food finally came out to us lukewarm at best. Manager looked more inconvenienced than apologetic for our complaints about lack of service and food quality. This restaurant was also not clean, had food or trash on the floor, and bathrooms were less than appealing. It also felt like they were taking care of their mobile orders more than their in house customers, but in seeing that, it was incredibly slow too. I would 100x go to the Chili's next door to spend your hard earned $...do not spend it here at Buffalo Wild Wings.

Cost: * Total: $31.31 (plus a $5 tip) paid upfront--an unusual practice for a sit-down restaurant. Order placed at 6:25 PM. Wisconsin Cheese Curds, Taylor Street Deep Dish Pizza and a fountain drink. Food & Service Experience: Beverages The restaurant has a self-serve beverage station, which is fine in theory, but my experience left much to be desired. I initially chose orange Powerade, only to notice strange specks floating in the drink. I asked for a new cup and switched to lemonade, but this wasn't the best first impression. Wisconsin Cheese Curds ($8.99) I received the curds quickly, which suggests they were likely frozen. The plate contained 18 small curds--comparable to what you'd get at Culver's for less money. It was unenjoyable and ultimately not worth eating. * The toppings were sparse and lacked flavor, except for the peppers, which gave their typical, spicy flavor. Even as a Wisconsinite, I found myself wishing there was less cheese. Overall, the pizza was mediocre at best. At $21, I expected something far superior. Instead, it reminded me of a $10 frozen pizza from Walmart. Additionally, when the pizza was brought to my table, the server handed me a serrated knife and fork with her bare hands. They weren't wrapped in a napkin as is standard at most restaurants. While I'm not much of a germaphobe, this felt like a lapse in proper hygiene and professionalism. If you tell us the wait is 40 minutes and we are seated in 45 minutes, we won't complain. But if you say the wait is 10-15 minutes and we have to inquire about what's going 40 minutes later and it turns out you can seat us immediately, the front of the house management is not doing their job very well. (At least it was pleasant outside and we enjoyed strolling up and down the marina checking out all the boats while we were waiting.) Once we were finally seated, everything was fine. Our server greeted us promptly. Drinks were delivered shortly after we placed our order and the food came to the table not long after that. I ordered the brisket sandwich with a side of potato salad. Compared to BBQ brisket I've had elsewhere I'd give it a six out of ten, not bad but far from the best (but I really didn't expect a place in Sheboygan to top places in Kansas City or Memphis for example). I sampled all their sauces (none of which wowed me) before settling on one that brought a touch of heat to the palate. The potato salad was a tad one-note -- it needed a touch of acid and a bit more texture, I.e. crunchy vegetables. All in all, Parker John's was okay -- but I won't be rushing back anytime soon.
