Huge, delicious Mushroom Jack Chicken Sandwich with Seasoned Rice. Yum!

Admittedly I have not been to a Texas Roadhouse in a really long time. My hubby and I were traveling home to Illinois and decided to stop. So glad we did! The food was really good. The service was really good. I know the cactus blossom isn't the healthiest option but it was yummy. My chicken sandwich was huge. And loaded with mushrooms! Even the side of rice was tasty. My hubby got a burger. Cooked perfectly and juicy. I think the prices are reasonable for all the good, tasty food we got. Guess I need to eat here more often!

Love TX Roadhouse! BUT - why did I know that they would NOT pay attention to my "special instructions" that said to leave the wings dry and sauce on the side? I went ahead and put my order in thru the app. First thing I checked was the sauce on the wings? OF COURSE. Some ppl might think why not go ahead and put the sauce on the wings. Well, that's ok if u don't mind eating soft soggy fried food. I like my fried food to stay crispy. Anyway, I'll probably try ordering the same way next time to see if they pay attention. Special instructions in all caps in the middle of the receipt, as you can see in my photo.

In sheboygan my son stopped going because they can't cook a hamburger or steak to order They seem to always come out rare My friend and I ate there yesterday waitress dumped the tray just feet from our table then 15 min later our 2 steaks ordered medium came out rare Bright red center even on the edges waitress said she'd have them redo but after an hour we said no its ok. We both took 90% of our steaks home--Very nice people who just have no idea how to hire cooks that can cook a steak to order we'll be going there very rarely after this The only thing I have free steak once a month through the year so I have to go back --Offered a coupon to my son and he declined do to his many past bad experiences

It's a chain. You go because it's familiar, and you know what you're getting. This location is no exception. The staff was all really friendly, and our server was really nice about explaining all the different steak cuts to my father in law. The crew was all wearing Packers gear since it was a game day, and I appreciated that. I got a sangria margarita, and it was fine. It tasted a little cheap but, I drank it down just fine. We started with a bloomin' onion. Woops. I mean "Cactus blossom". It has been a long time but it was just as gluttonous and delicious as I remember. For my entree I got the country fried chicken. It was perfectly fine. Cooked well with good flavor and a good gravy on top. There was nothing wrong with this meal, it was standard chain dinner eatery fair with good service.

Yes, the interior is dated and the open kitchen (enclosed in glass) has definitely a vintage feel. This is not a place where you go to impress a date. However, this is a place you go to enjoy a quality and value driven dinner. My steak was perfectly cooked over a charcoal grill and enormous for the price point. I usually avoid the offer of a salad bar but Rupp's does it right. Old school with various pastas and side items but I appreciate the freshness of the ingredients. They don't make places like Rupp's anymore. Go while you can, soak up the dated decor, and reminiscence of simpler times.

Had to flag down the server to ask where the drinks were and that we were ready to order food (she had asked us if we needed another minute when she took our drink order). 2) the salad bar was average, and they need to attend to it more often. 3) the "really good" clam chowder was inedible because it was so fishy. 4) the split pea soup was lumpy (tasted ok). 5) the above gets them down to a 3. But this is an effing steakhouse. My medium rare strip was done medium well (slightly pink), and my son's medium was done well (no pink). I did get a strawberry schaum torte with a little candle that was good. Except they brought it when two of us were away from the table. ‍

My bestie is SEVERELY allergic to poultry and her husband was recently diagnosed with Celiac disease which means gluten is no good (even "cross contamination"). This makes finding a restaurant that can accommodate their needs a huge challenge. Our server went out of her way to talk to the chef and check things out. They were able to accommodate these specific diets and still beautifully create their entrees. It has been horrible to adjust life with Celiac, so when the food came out, I really thought there might be some tears of joy. ;) This gave us more reasons to come back! Thank you!

We saw there were little signs by the doors that tell you what building is what. Once inside, we were seated immediately. Our waitress got us drinks within a minute of sitting down. I think her name was Ella or Ellie- she was very good. Knew when to come over and when to not come over. I ordered the lobster cargot for an appetizer - it didn't have much taste so I would pass on this in the future. The corn chowder was amazing !!!! Very flavorful. My lobster ravioli had a very nice portion size and lots of extra lobster. Our bill for 2 people who each had two alcoholic beverages was $150 with the tip. Cute date night spot. The reason for the 4 star was the blackened snapper paella wasn't good. The fish was burnt not blackened. My friend took the bottom off because of how burnt it was.

We all got drinks, for 5 people: it was 165, which from my experience is pretty good. I didn't expect that my travel partners would be in the mood for sushi while staying in Sheboygan -…read morebut what can I say? ...the palate wants what it wants. The meal started on shaky ground with the tuna tataki. Dry and somewhat fishy, I had no desire to have more than one piece. The ponzu sauce also did not have the flavorful, citrusy tartness that could have saved this dish. Thankfully, things did get better. The Spanish grasshopper roll was flavorful, much more fresh tasting, and had a nice level of heat. The dragon roll and the crazy roll were also decent but not amazing. Thankfully, the tataki set the bar pretty low for everything else. Service was also decent in that our server was friendly but somewhat forgetful and main courses didn't quite arrive together leaving some to stare at their food while others waited for theirs. This was not a major issue, though, and only helps to explain why this was just an average experience. One final note was how unusually dark the restaurant was with very dark paint-chipped walls. Additionally, the walk to the restrooms took me past a small graveyard of broken and unused chairs. The spiral bound menus were all in various levels of disrepair. The only reason I mention these things is because there's a certain level of attention to small details that can make or break my level of comfort in eating sushi at any particular restaurant. Pricing was shockingly inexpensive for the amount of food. Unsurprisingly, a service charge was added since our group was large - but I was shocked that it was only 15% - which I have never seen. We all made sure to add to the gratuity reflective of our appreciation for the hard work of our server. Overall, not fantastic - but definitely not the worst sushi place I have been. Not sure I have a strong desire to give this one another try, though.

There is ample parking around the building and it's very accessible from the road. Upon entry there weren't super clear directions about waiting for a host or seating yourself - this is very much a place of regulars so the need probably doesn't often occur to answer this question, although it did happen to us and the visitor in front of us haha. We were eventually greeted by the waitstaff and asked to find a seat. It's a fairly small dining room, maybe 6-8 tables(?) and a couple of horseshoe shaped bars to sit at right amongst the action of the open kitchen. They were quite full with only 1 table open at the time. Having a front row seat to it all was really cool! The menu had really great options without being overwhelming. They even has Sprite Zero so I couldn't have been happier. We ordered a double cheese burger, two sides of fries, and a double cheesesteak burger. This was essentially just a slightly larger and thicker burger. Both were excellent and were able to customise to our heart's delight! The fries were a little under seasoned for my liking, but salt and pepper were available. The ranch wasn't anything special, just premade from a pouch. The special of the day was a burger and cup of soup/chili, and I think we definitely were missing out there. It was super popular in the time we were there and the chili smelled incredible. And considering how hot the day was, it must have been really good for people to keep ordering it. When it came time to close out or check, we realised there was a "cash only" sign on the register. I'm usually really good about seeing these things ahead of time or looking for them on the door. So I apologise if it was posted upon entry, as well, but I did not see any signage for that other than at the register. Thankfully they do have an ATM on site inside if needed. The next time we are in the area we'll be back to try some of these other specials and goodies!
