Love TX Roadhouse! BUT - why did I know that they would NOT pay attention to my "special instructions" that said to leave the wings dry and sauce on the side? I went ahead and put my order in thru the app. First thing I checked was the sauce on the wings? OF COURSE. Some ppl might think why not go ahead and put the sauce on the wings. Well, that's ok if u don't mind eating soft soggy fried food. I like my fried food to stay crispy. Anyway, I'll probably try ordering the same way next time to see if they pay attention. Special instructions in all caps in the middle of the receipt, as you can see in my photo.

In sheboygan my son stopped going because they can't cook a hamburger or steak to order They seem to always come out rare My friend and I ate there yesterday waitress dumped the tray just feet from our table then 15 min later our 2 steaks ordered medium came out rare Bright red center even on the edges waitress said she'd have them redo but after an hour we said no its ok. We both took 90% of our steaks home--Very nice people who just have no idea how to hire cooks that can cook a steak to order we'll be going there very rarely after this The only thing I have free steak once a month through the year so I have to go back --Offered a coupon to my son and he declined do to his many past bad experiences

It's a chain. You go because it's familiar, and you know what you're getting. This location is no exception. The staff was all really friendly, and our server was really nice about explaining all the different steak cuts to my father in law. The crew was all wearing Packers gear since it was a game day, and I appreciated that. I got a sangria margarita, and it was fine. It tasted a little cheap but, I drank it down just fine. We started with a bloomin' onion. Woops. I mean "Cactus blossom". It has been a long time but it was just as gluttonous and delicious as I remember. For my entree I got the country fried chicken. It was perfectly fine. Cooked well with good flavor and a good gravy on top. There was nothing wrong with this meal, it was standard chain dinner eatery fair with good service.

Yes, the interior is dated and the open kitchen (enclosed in glass) has definitely a vintage feel. This is not a place where you go to impress a date. However, this is a place you go to enjoy a quality and value driven dinner. My steak was perfectly cooked over a charcoal grill and enormous for the price point. I usually avoid the offer of a salad bar but Rupp's does it right. Old school with various pastas and side items but I appreciate the freshness of the ingredients. They don't make places like Rupp's anymore. Go while you can, soak up the dated decor, and reminiscence of simpler times.

Had to flag down the server to ask where the drinks were and that we were ready to order food (she had asked us if we needed another minute when she took our drink order). 2) the salad bar was average, and they need to attend to it more often. 3) the "really good" clam chowder was inedible because it was so fishy. 4) the split pea soup was lumpy (tasted ok). 5) the above gets them down to a 3. But this is an effing steakhouse. My medium rare strip was done medium well (slightly pink), and my son's medium was done well (no pink). I did get a strawberry schaum torte with a little candle that was good. Except they brought it when two of us were away from the table. ‍

She's been ranting and raving about the salads and pizzas (which are now no longer on the menu). Finally, we made it today after going to Flora Fields for Mother's Day weekend. We did the wine flight of dry red wines and they all were great. Really well selected. We ordered the duck flatbread and some fries for the kiddos. Unfortunately, the food was pretty awful. The flatbread had no flavor, or as if all the ingredients just meshed together in a blender and the crust was overcooked or cooked more than once? I was looking for any kind of flavor punch but it just fell flat (pun not intended). Maybe it was previously frozen as that would explain everything. But it was topped with some microgreens to look better than frozen. Can't really mess up fries, but I guess you can when you don't change the oil they're fried in after awhile. Felt like there was a fish fry on the fries minus the fish. The service and the atmosphere were all great. I would say if you go, go for the wine and atmosphere, not the food.

I ended up getting the Old Fashion and the Fuego Margarita both of which were soooo gooooood! The old Fashion was made with Russels reserve 10 year Bourbon (a recognized excellent Bourbon by the experts), Cooper and Kings Brandy, Whistle PiggyBack Rye whiskey, Blackberry and Angostura bitters. This combination of components are not what you would normally see in a classical Old Fashion but man do they form an amazing and tasty Old fashion albeit a tad on the sweet side. Absolutely delicious. The Fuego Margarita is made with a blanco tequila, 21 seed cucumber, Jalapeño, lime juice, Solerno orange liquor and Agave. I have had this drink on a cruise in the past which was quite good where the secret is to balance the Jalapeño/cucumber with the liquor so it does not overpower the drink and man did they nail it. This was absolutely a must try margarita if you are a fan of the drink due to its unique components and how well they complement each other. Top shelf all day long!! Overall a great afternoon drinking excursion that I cant wait to repeat and highly recommend for anyone into Craft cocktails where the emphasis is on Craft with this bar. Two huge thumbs up! No

There is ample parking around the building and it's very accessible from the road. Upon entry there weren't super clear directions about waiting for a host or seating yourself - this is very much a place of regulars so the need probably doesn't often occur to answer this question, although it did happen to us and the visitor in front of us haha. We were eventually greeted by the waitstaff and asked to find a seat. It's a fairly small dining room, maybe 6-8 tables(?) and a couple of horseshoe shaped bars to sit at right amongst the action of the open kitchen. They were quite full with only 1 table open at the time. Having a front row seat to it all was really cool! The menu had really great options without being overwhelming. They even has Sprite Zero so I couldn't have been happier. We ordered a double cheese burger, two sides of fries, and a double cheesesteak burger. This was essentially just a slightly larger and thicker burger. Both were excellent and were able to customise to our heart's delight! The fries were a little under seasoned for my liking, but salt and pepper were available. The ranch wasn't anything special, just premade from a pouch. The special of the day was a burger and cup of soup/chili, and I think we definitely were missing out there. It was super popular in the time we were there and the chili smelled incredible. And considering how hot the day was, it must have been really good for people to keep ordering it. When it came time to close out or check, we realised there was a "cash only" sign on the register. I'm usually really good about seeing these things ahead of time or looking for them on the door. So I apologise if it was posted upon entry, as well, but I did not see any signage for that other than at the register. Thankfully they do have an ATM on site inside if needed. The next time we are in the area we'll be back to try some of these other specials and goodies!
