Compared to KFC, Popeye's is absolutely 5-star! Not even close to compare. I am not much of a fast food guy but I could eat Popeye's every day. Luckily, I limit myself to once or twice per month. This location is probably the worst I've been to from both a cleanliness standpoint and a service standpoint. The actual location is a mess. It's in a building that is falling apart and the outside is a shithole with trash, etc. stacked right next to the drive through window on full display. If the outside of the building is this gross ... I shudder to think what might be going on inside the kitchen! The staff is very rough too. Often, they leave you sitting at the drive through for several minutes before even acknowledging you. I will say that they have never actually fucked up my order ... although often they don't ask you if you want plain or spicy, etc. This area of Worcester is as trashy and ghetto as it comes. There's no reason to stick around ... the people here behave like crazy people ... the drivers are rude and aggressive and overall, it's the proverbial armpit of Massachusetts. Popeye's used to be fairly cheap but now it's super pricey for fast food. A 3 piece chicken tender meal is close to $10. The food is usually good ... the orange mac and cheese was one of Anthony Bourdain's favorite guilty pleasure foods. (I know as he was an acquaintance of mine) even the biscuits are tasty. Gahhhhhh- the wings, though. I have never gone to this location and haven't had to wait but it it soooooo worth it. The sauces are delectable. The wings are JUICY, large, and crispy. This is my new addiction. Definitely ask for additional sauces. If the wings aren't saucy enough, then you can ask for the same sauces on the side. But I absolutely recommend the buttermilk ranch! My experience at the Worcester Popeyes was not all that bad. The service was ok and the chicken tenders were perfect. I ordered 3 orders of spicy chicken tenders and specifically asked for 3 buttermilk ranch and 3 Mardi Gras mustard. I was given 3 buttermilk and 1 honey mustard sauces. When I asked for the additional sauces, the young man pointed out that I was given what I ordered, which was not true. I asked if I needed to pay extra for what I actually ordered, he reluctantly placed the wrong sauces in my bag. I was also given 2 orders of cold and stale Cajun fries, like they'd been sitting there for hours. I've tried several times to call and speak to a mgr since Thursday, July 3rd, the phone rings and rings then cuts off. I simply want my fries (fresh) and the sauces I asked for. Came for dinner. Used the app, which was straight forward. Picked up on site. Parking and drive thru. No dine-in yet due to covid. Butterfly shrimp tackle box was good. Shrimp was crunchy and great with sauce. I used wild honey mustard sauce since they seem to charge extra for the other sauces. This box comes with fries, and biscuit. Fries were a little soggy and biscuit here is far from the best I have had. Just seems a bit stale. Next, we got the cajun flounder sandwich. This was alright. It does not look as impressive as advertised in the pictures. Fish was well cooked. There was pickles but in my opinion, it needed more flavor. Overall, Popeyes is good for what it is. That is a fast food restaurant that specializes in fried chicken and a couple fried seafood menu items. Not the most fancy but good for once in a while. Hope that helps. read more

Service was horrendous, we went around 3 pm on Columbus Day. Was told our order would be 3 min after 25 i decided to check when my order would be out. Well half the order was ready we were still waiting on the spicy nuggets. We will never go back to this location. The manager should not be in his position! He was clearly intimated by his crew they ran the show not him. I tried talking to him but honestly he was like the little shy kid hiding in the corner and wouldn't talk. This location quite nearly killed me this evening. Ordered through Grubhub, if that matters in context of this review. Ordered large mac and cheese, a bacon and cheese classic chicken sandwich and two oreo cheesecake cups. Received one cheesecake cup, a sandwich, and the mac and cheese. Contacted GH regarding the missing cup, bit into my sandwich, only to find that it wasn't the sandwich I ordered and had pickles on it. I'm allergic to pickles. When I ordered my sandwich I specified mayo. Pickles was an option to add to it but from what I know, they are not by default put on the sandwiches. The Popeyes Chicken sandwich hype last year was justified. This on its own is a 5 star item, better than any of its fast food competitors and at less than $5, a steal. Its better than the chicken sandwich at the vast majority of sit down restaurants. Unfortunately the sides are pretty mediocre. I go thru the drive thru and order a 12 piece box with 2 large red beans and rice. the sign says this is 18.99 but when i get up to the window my order is 31.02. As it turns out the red beans and rice are not included in the box. But still the sign says the sides are 4.25 so how does 2 of them change 19 and 31 since only 2 was tax. A 50/50 chance of a good experience here. Recently they gave me the wrong order and I only ordered one sandwich. Fast food heaven. Im a fan of Popeyes in general. I think the spicy tenders with that bomb breading and stinging kick make one delicious guilty pleasure. Finally there is one in central Mass!! The spicy tenders were hot fresh and juicy. The fries were also fresh and crisp. The service was polite and efficient. The dining room was clean.
