We have been coming to this place for years and the past two visits have been horrible, today being the worst. Had to keep asking for everything like plates, forks, Parmesan (never got), etc. One pizza didn't come out until everyone else was finished eating. Got my reservation wrong told them I wanted it at 2 they put it down for 11. Took the server forever to come back and get the drink orders not only that ordered the pizzas before getting seated and they came out awhile later over heard from another party that had all ready been their they asked for longer time in the room just because their pizzas came out close to the time of them leaving. This place was recommended by a friend. I'm guessing she hasn't been here in awhile. The staff was nice and it was a nice atmosphere. The pizza me and my brother had ( pepperoni and sausage) wasn't good at all. I would say Pizza Hut is better. The other pizza we order which had to be a cheese only pizza came at the end of the dinner after everyone was done eating. This pizza hit the spot! Very eclectic inside and I particularly enjoyed the classic cartoons on the tv. I'm a sucker for what I grew up with. We ordered a medium pepperoni/peppers/black olives. It's not the medium you'd find at Dominoes..it seemed a little smaller but it was the perfect amount for the 2 of us. Ingredients were fresh and the crust was thin which made it easier to enjoy the ingredients. Didn't make it to the side where all the games were..we make it a point to avoid children but its a nice option for families. Nice staff and overall pleasant experience! read more

I would give no stars if I could...the waiter (Isaac) took our drink order with attitude and then stopped showing up. He took a drink and food order from a table directly in front of us and then delivered 3 checks and walked away. Best hole in the wall pizza joint in Waco. Known for their thin crust and amazing ranch, usually has black and white old time videos playing rather than music for background entertainment. It's been here for over 50 years, I wouldn't be surprised if it's here for another 50. Great date place. read more

Pizza place was told Chip and Joanna Gaines gets their pizza from when Chip brings pizza to Joanna when she finishes up the fixer upper houses the late night before completion. Ordered The Works Pizza with Sausage, Pepperoni, onions, bell peppers, olives and other items. Have to say there was alot of items placed of the pizza pie. They certainly do not stop short of placing toppings on the pizza. When I go to the build your pizza quick places, this is what I would put on my pizza. The only thing is the crust, almost seems like a premade crust rather than a fresh dough crust. The service was ok, was dining around 3pm and not to many people there, but was trying to get our ticket to leave for another appointment, but took a little while finding our server. The pizza is good, especially for feeding a crowd. While maybe not the cheapest pizza in town, the pizzas are huge and are packed with toppings. Again like with the Hewitt location, once this restaurant gets full it gets very loud and this can be a hard place for those that have sensory sensitivities. Well I'll say it took 30 mins to get seated and we were the only people waiting. They took our order promptly after that. One of meals came out and were told the rest is right up. 15 mins later another meal comes out. Two more are no where to be seen. After 20 more mins and the two meals we did receive were already eaten we had the two final pizzas put into boxes to go. Not to excited with the place as I haven't even eaten my food yet. By far the worst pizza I've ever had! We ordered one large supreme pizza, 2 calzones and 2 salads. The pizza was dry, bland, the sauce tasted caned and the toppings tasted fake. This place cranks out a very different style pizza. Think of a pie that is overflowing toppings when it comes to your table--especially if you order sausage or hamburger. I prefer their thin crust. The decor is certainly dark and a bit busy for my taste. But the servers are super friendly and they get it right. We went late one Tuesday night and split an extra large pizza. The server came to our table shortly before our order arrived and sheepishly announced that the kitchen prepared a large. But, an extra large pie was being made and will be ready shorty. SLAM DUNK! This place is awesome. It's an old family-owned Italian joint with lots of history and charm. My wife tells stories about how she and her friends would come here to eat when she was at Baylor. The food was a big hit! We grabbed dinner here the weekend we moved our son into Baylor. We got pizzas (they got the four cheese and I got the special). The pizza was delicious. It was COVERED with toppings with great seasoning and a great crust. We Ate there in June 2020 for lunch. Got there'Right at noon. Only one other table had customers. Place was like a ghost town. We should've known something was wrong right there!! Looked like it had been sprayed with Roundup. She took 2 bites and discarded it! We then waited approximately another 20 minutes to get one medium HB pizza. When we got it, crust was "rock hard' had a bland flavor. We only attempted at eating 1 piece each. Within 5 minutes we Got up, paid bill of $21.89 and left. I assure you, We will not be back. We have never tried their other location. Whole family ate on valley mills dr. there in 2018 on a Friday night for birthday party and we enjoyed the meal. So I can't understand what has been happening between 2018 & 2020, but seems there has definitely been a change for the worse. read more

Okay, so like the woman a few posts below, I too am a "pizza snob". However, I am very much a HUGE fan of Poppa Rollo's! The outside of the building made me second guess our decision to meet our family here for dinner, while we're in Waco and they drove up from Austin. I am so glad we took the chance. While the outside of the building seem questionable, the inside was cool, chill and fun! Was it a bit older? Yes! Did it have character? Yes!! Good food? Absolutely!!! A full bar? No... BUT it has the coldest beer, with continual cold mugs coming our way, the whole time we were there!!! As a pizza snob, the pizza was loaded with fresh ingredients. The reasons to go here include: Little Rascals on the TV in the front dining room, and sports on the big screen in the "speakeasy". But the food is firmly stuck in 1990. Pros: - Old tyme feel to the front dining room. Stained glass lamps, Little Rascals and Three Stooges on the TV, worn vinyl booths, old laminate tables. - The "speakeasy" in back. Just different, so kind of interesting. Cons: - Service. Earnest, clueless servers. No sense of urgency as I waited for a menu, waited for the drink, had to ask for refill, had the pizza plopped down in front of me, etc. Like I was an afterthought. - Pizza. A small step above Totino's frozen. (I'm not sure it wasn't Totino's as the cheese in the center of the pizza was half-melted.) Taste was firmly stuck in 1990s pizza joint. So many other good pizzas around, no reason to eat this. - Atmosphere. The place is grimy. The front dining area is worn, the TV too small and too low, the vinyl and Formica worn, and I feared looking at the floor. This visit I didn't go to the bar in back, but last time I was there, it too had that worn-past-the-quaint feel. I'll pass next time, unless I am on a nostalgia trip (front room reminds me of a Shakey's Pizza my parents would take us to in 1960s, and this was the pizza joint of choice when I was in college). Best pizza. Got the works. Thin, crispy crust with more than enough toppings, great waitstaff and service from the few times I've gone there. Also never had a problem with to go orders. However, the quality of food and service is overshadowed by the fact I felt extremely uncomfortable by an older man I believe is the owner. He was a textbook "dirty old man" commenting on my red hair, asking much too personal questions, winking, FLICKING HIS TONGUE at me, and looking me up and down. Violated is an understatement.
