    Crawfish grits

Ya'll. This place is LEGIT. We put it in maps and we thought we were in the middle of nowhere but let me tell you, it's worth it. I had the gumbo and the hubs had the sirloin. We started with the crawfish grits. Everything was super flavorful and beyond delish. Totally exceeded our expectations.

We have been waiting so long to try this place! Hubby & I picked this as one of our destination restaurants while on Christmas break as it's kinda far away from our farmhouse, like 3 1/2 hours away. So, we finally got to try it & boy was it worth the wait!!! The "Pops crawfish grits" was everything you want in a lightly spicy creamy crawfish sauce & the white "grits" or "creamy polenta" that comes with it, are creamy dreamy yumminess on a plate! GET IT! :)... LOVE LOVE LOVE this dish! We even got one to go! In fact, we loved it so much we even got it as a side to top our steaks !!! And the STEAKS are WOZA! Hubby got the ribeye, he said it was the best steak he has ever had. The sides were even amazballs! We both got the twice baked potatoes they were really good, with a really great flavor. Hubby got grilled broccoli & I got grilled asparagus. BOTH were grilled to perfection. That is my biggest complaint usually. Restaurants that can't make veggies correctly. No worries here, both our veggies were cooked perfectly. YUM! :)... Moi got the filet mignon with the twice cooked potatoes & grilled asparagus & a side of the crawfish sauce to top it with. Best dish of my LIFE!!! :)... My filet mignon was a giant hand cut baseball size "french cut" it was charred so beautifully on the outside and it was completely medium perfection on the inside!! The flavor of the mesquite char was Outstanding! We go to a LOT of steak houses and this was the best steak I have had. The best dinner we have had. Completely flawless. A perfect dinner! A "flamboyance" of flavor! LOVED the healing spirit of the Pink Flamingos EVERYWHERE! The Best Flamingo Christmas tree I have ever seen! The service was excellent, everyone so friendly! The martinis ROCKED! LOVE all the healing Flamingos! The Best Christmas dinner EVER, can't wait to return! My new Favorite Restaurant! Highest recommendations.

Took the wife out for birthday dinner and it was absolutely awesome. The service was great and the food was incredible every bit as good as New Orleans!!!

Great hangout and funky cool atmosphere. We found this place based on reviews. Food was excellent and fresh. We got a few complimentary items which was a nice treat only because we were first time customers. Definitely worth the 2 hour drive.

Trying to find a restaurant that is good when you are out of town is a gamble, but this gamble paid off when we walked into Pops Place. It doesn't look like much on the outside, but when you walk in they have Christmas lights inside and it opens up to a large seating area. Also an outdoors seating area if you want to hangout and sit by the fire. The service was great! Our waiter checked in on us multiple times. Took great care of us. Appetizer: the chips and salsa taste so good! The salsa is homemade! Entrees: Smartinis chicken sandwich - Grilled chicken with bacon, avocado, lettuce, tomato and chipotle mayo served with our fresh-fried potato chips. Has a bit of a kick! 5/5 Mesquite grilled chicken breast - you have three marinades to choose from teriyaki, lemon-pepper or Italian. Wife opted for teriyaki and loved it. 5/5 Bacon wrapped filet mignon - grandparents loved every bite! You get two sides to choose from. If you are driving through or staying the night. I highly recommend checking this place out!

It's is a bit rare that I order beef these days with prices being exorbitantly higher than what they used to be. However that being said the steaks that I've had were cooked exactly as I had requested and I was not disappointed! The onion blossom with the dipping sauce was crisp and tasty! The perfect appetizer! I have no complaints about the service either! The waitstaff that I've encountered here were polite...respectful...and accommodating! Whatever we wanted they were right on top of things to fulfill our every wish! Smiles from those that waited on us were abundant and certainly added to the enjoyment of our meals. No rudeness or disrespect here! I love the ambiance of this establishment with its low and non-glaring lighting which of course sets it vastly apart from the other establishments to which I've been. The feelings of excitement and expectation were in the air along with an acceptable level of background noise which allow for unfettered conversation amongst us. IF the Ironwood Grill of Texarkana, TX were to ever shut its doors, it would indeed be a day of mourning for me!

The vibe and atmosphere was stellar. The staff were more than friendly and knew their craft beers! We tried some new flavors and were made undeniable fans. I ordered a plate of Duck Fat Fries. So good it made me want to go smack Junior's mama. We also ordered the Crawfish Dip. It was disgustingly scrumpdidallyumtious!!! Pure flavor profile explosion in my mouth. Never had anything like that before. My wife and I also decided to split a Smash Burger and that thick cut bacon with juicy beef patties... damn. One of the most memorable and satisfying experiences I've ever had, and I haven't even talked about the drinks. My eyes sparkled when I seen a Toasted Pecan Old Fashioned on the menu. A must try. While passing through on a road trip, my local friend recommended Pecan Point and I'm glad I went. Located in downtown, you'll find free street parking in front of the restaurant. We were greeted as soon as we entered and the inside is spacious and casual. I ordered the raspberry Chipotle smash burger ($16), peach cobbler, and a flight of beer and cider ($10). What made this burger stand out was the raspberry Chipotle sauce and fried jalapeños! The flight includes four 4oz pours of any draught and mine were Irish red ale, Pecan Pointe ale, bock beer, and apple cider. The Irish red was my favorite and the Pecan Pointe my least. I would have liked the cobbler to be a little more crunchy, but was still enjoyable. I recommend and will visit again when in town.

Everything got weird. Like... record scratch weird. No bartender came over. No eye contact. No "hey man, what can I get you?" Just a lot of standing and looking past me like I was a ghost or maybe a very calm ghost. I tried to make casual conversation, because that's what people do in bars. And suddenly the room felt tense. Like I had accidentally walked into a staff meeting or a crime scene. At some point it hit me. Oh. They think I'm a cop. Not because I did anything. But because I was standing upright. And sober. And aware. Which, apparently, after 11 pm here is suspicious behavior. For the record, I am not law enforcement. I am just a guy who is cold and trying to hear music. I wasn't kicked out. I wasn't served. I was just... ignored. Like if they pretended I didn't exist long enough, I might fade away. So I left. Nothing dramatic happened. It was just awkward. Uncomfortable. And kind of impressive in a sad way. I walked into a bar and accidentally became a vibe check the place failed itself. This might work great for regulars or a younger crowd earlier in the night.
