Aside from this being located all the way in Katy, the concept and mini golf course gave off a upscale modern vibe. This business could impressively accommodate large groups on a busy weekend night as well, I had called ahead to make sure if I needed to make reservations for a party of 8, was told it was first come first serve. Upon arriving a little after sunset, the weather was manageable with the breeze, both courses (Black & Red) had long waiting queues with their respective parties. They allow a maximum of 6 per group, so if you're coming with larger groups, divide amongst yourself accordingly and you'll still be able to play together by following right behind each other. There are two open stories that overlook the golf course, with some heavy handers standing behind the bars for sure. When our entire group arrived, we ordered a few rounds of shots before hitting the course, 8 shots of Casamigos Reposado came out to a little over $70, drinks were fairly priced at the patio bars. Beware of ordering drinks on the golf course though, it is a luxury to be able to get your drinks while playing on the course. Be prepared to pay almost double though! When we arrived at Popstroke we weren't quite sure how to begin. We eventually went up to the counter and the girls told us how much it'd be each and asked if we wanted a drink. $30+ per person for mini golf is kind of wild to me. We had a group of 7 and waited in line behind other groups. I asked the guy checking our receipts and letting us onto the course if he had a scorecard and he said he had no pencils or pens to write the scores down. Disappointing. The putting greens were nice but the courses could have been way more fun, engaging, and challenging. Waiting group to group seemed like we were rushing the people in front of us and felt like we were being rush by the next people. i had a friend visiting over the weekend that really wanted to come here to check it out, it was also my first time going! we had came at the twilight hour (last 2 hours) so it was $5 cheaper which was a nice unexpected surprise! we didnt get to try any of the food or drinks because we had saw that there was already so many lines formed to play!! the course is huge and there is over 25 holes to play i believe. there are lines for all of them though so if you go on a busy day expect to be waiting after each hole. it was a cool experience nonetheless. read more

We got the $25 all day pass which includes access to their putt putt courses, bar, restaurant, and games like ping pong and corn hole. There was a black level (easy) and red level (harder) with 18 holes each. You get to rent a putt and a golf ball, which you get to keep for free! The courses were so much fun and so worth the $25. They offered free water and towels bathed in ice contained in coolers, throughout parts of the courses. Thank goodness bc it was very hot that day, so these saved us from a heat stroke. As to service, lots of workers walking around, but not one paying attention to us the paying customer. I have not tried the food yet so I am not sure how it was personally but a good friend said the burgers were good! We waited months for it to die down to check it out. Yes, the wait is still pretty long but what do you expect when a new fad comes to town? I had a lot of fun! Some of the holes get repeated but its still challenging and makes a great date night spot. Some of the holes even have cold wet cloths which is a nice touch. There is also a Mobil bar 1/2 way through if you want to grab a drink. They also have games and plenty of TVs to watch any game that is on. Great concept and idea but just horrible execution..... they allow so many people at a time that using the putting course is beyond useless.... And you're literally standing and getting bottle necked through each hole..... Please start limiting the amount of guest.... The course gets flooded with so many people you don't truly get to enjoy and concentrate on actually putting..... also the course isn't as fun or as exciting as a true putt putt course that has trick shots , secret routes.... Drink order was never delivered so had to go to bar to request. They questioned if I ordered for the right location and the receipt did not indicate this at all; 100% sure I did though since only one location in Houston area and I set it up and chose "Katy location" and got a "received in Katy, TX" notice when I hit submit. The whole point of this place is service while on the green but this is where they failed. I had tipped for this service (that I never got). When I went to the bar to ask where my order was, I indicated I wasn't pleased that I had tipped just to walk to the bar to get my own order. The bar attendee assured me it was "ok because the tip is for the service." I guess its fine (for her) that I tipped for a service they didn't provide -- I ordered 4 bottles of water so not like they had to make anything. I told her I didn't consider handing my 4 bottles someone grabbed from a fridge tip indicated service. Excited to visit the new attraction in Katy. It's like Top Golf but more focused on a putt putt course. Everything is nice and new still but you can also tell their navigating the waters of opening a new place + limited staff. The putting area is beautiful but can get backed up on a busy night. Let me start by saying I love the concept of paying $25 for the day which allows you hangout, play the course, relax at the bar, get a bite to eat, etc. Since it is new, it was VERY crowded so you have to be patient with waitstaff and longlines. We weren't in any rush and stayed the afternoon and really enjoyed our time there. The playground structure is also really nice and offered some of the only shade aside from some of the restaurant seating areas. I did want to note some issues that are not related to the staff or the course. There are only 2 women's stalls on the 1st level and they blocked off the 2nd level (assuming there is 2 more up there). We were there for 5 hours on a Saturday afternoon and there was always a long line. 2 stalls is not enough for the crowd. Period. There was also no diaper changing station so I had to change my baby girl on the very wet sink. I saw many families and even lots of babies and to not have a diaper changing station in a family friendly venue is not acceptable. My last observation is nothing that can corrected but something the design team needs to look into as the entire venue opens to the South. On a beautiful 65 degree day it wasn't an issue but you cannot escape the sun and I think the center bar & patio seating is really going to struggle in the spring and summer months with very little shade. read more

Only rating the putting experience. Two courses available outside with one 'easier' and one 'harder' course to try. It's $25 for all day play (keep your receipt if you need to leave and come back) and each course will take 40 min + depending on the wait, how fast you play, people infront of you etc. They really should have put some canopies or something over the place but it was VERY hot and no fans or anything in the playing area. So come when it's cooled down at night, or in the fall/winter to enjoy this place at a leisurely pace. Did not try any drinks except bottled or the food yet. If you have the app, make sure to tell the person at the front desk - they will not ask you. This way you can earn points for your next visit. Playground available for little kids looked really nice. They have ice cream and american food available as well as a bar. There is also one ping pong table and a set of cornhole boards. read more

It's always exciting when new things pop up in the area, so we were awaiting for PopStroke to finally open and to check it out. The concept for this mini golf course has its potential, and it is a nice looking hangout spot, but only depending on if the weather is also nice. I was hoping there would be a partial indoor course as well for these reasons. I liked that they had stands with drink holders at the start of every hole to place your drinks, and you could also have drinks brought to you by scanning the QR codes on the stations or downloading the app. I had to take away a couple stars because the overcrowding really takes the fun out of the experience. On a beautiful weather day, especially during weekends, be prepared to wait in line for at least 15-20 mins before it is your turn to putt at each hole. It's unfortunate that for an all day pass, the fee is $25, so if you have somewhere to be after a few hours, and you can tell the lines are long on the course, save your money and time! We never got to finish our full course because the wait was too long. Parking is also another struggle, since it is a shared lot with Katy Asia Town restaurant and shop patrons. I would only come back to PopStroke on occasion or when it's not crowded, which will probably be on the bad weather days only though. Bummer! read more

Overall it was a fun time. Didn't have any food but the drinks were good. There are two course one is slightly more challenging than the other. Wear proper shoes when going there. It is artificial turf and extremely slick especially on the hills and slopes. There is a bar right at the check in counter so you can get a drink right as you walk in. I recommend they do something about the app ordering system they have when they you're out on the course. It needs to be updated so you can continually change your location. You place your order at hole 4 but by the time they get to you you're on hole 10. Too much confusion. Also, there needs to be a verification process to receive your order. During my time there I saw one waiter ask for a name and show a receipt. The rest of the time was like a free for all. The waiters looked confused attempting to navigate the course and not slip while trying to track down customers. There was a bar on the course but it was closed. Fun putting facility owned by Tiger Woods. It's all outside, so only nice with weather permitting. Great to go during Texas winters, but not sure how it will be in the summer with Houston heat. Only 3/5 stars, because I'm not sure this is a place for someone to go back consistently. The course has 36 putting holes, split up into 2 areas. When the crowd is small, it moves quickly and I think you'll enjoy your time more. When it's busy, you can wait up to 20+ minutes to putt 1 hike. If you download the app, you get reward money to use for future use. Like that if you have the app, they will also service drinks and bring it to whatever hole you're at. read more

I'm going to start this review out by saying we had a great time today. The concept of this place is amazing and the food was above average for golf/bar food. Our only complaint, unfortunately, was the staff. We truly felt like nobody had any idea what was going on. They weren't able to explain the place, remember to give us golf balls, or get beer out to the course (through the app) by the time we finished. The bar staff was unfriendly and we had to beg for service. All in all, this place is awesome as a whole- I think they just have a lot of kinks to work through! They don't come and see if you need refills. If your food is wrong you have to get up and find someone to get help. This place is all encompassing. You can go for a family day, or date night. It is kid friendly, and even has ice cream in the front. They do honor military discounts. however, I would not recommend any mixed drink from there. We had different drinks, different bartenders, and they all had the same theme of being very weak. The margaritas had way too much sour mix in them. So I would recommend sticking to wine or beer if you like those. Visited on a Friday night. Arrived around 8pm and left three hours later. It was busy , but we managed to play both 18-hole courses in that time and sampled the drinks as we played. Concept is great - we all agreed it was more fun and interactive than Top Golf - but improvements could be made. Drinks are hit and miss (no diet mixers left at the course bar, but the margaritas were great). On a February night with temps in the high 60s it was nice to walk around and even waiting at some holes wasn't a big deal. In the Houston summer it's going to be brutal - whether it's the heat, the humidity or the mosquitoes... Why no shade? Why no fans? Perhaps these are yet to be installed... May try the food next time. $25 for all you can play is good, but we didn't want to play more than two rounds. read more

The excitement was real but the disappointment was even more real. Ordered an El Jefe from the bar, I was given Java (a stout) and when I told them it was wrong they argued with me showing me the tap they were pouring from which showed the El Jefe label but pouring something completely different. They realized the taps were wrong and were "out" of El Jefe. No biggie. I ordered another beer. I took it to my table only to find a huge chip at the rim of my mug. Large enough to cut a lip. Took it back to the bar, served another beer and another chip. This happened 3 times before given a mug that was way less chipped than others but still chipped nonetheless. Another bar, closer to the entrance of the facility had an El Jefe on tap, grabbed one of those and the tap was on its way out. It was sour and pretty dank. The food was very mediocre especially for the price of the food. I don't mind spending money on food, if it was worth it. The chicken sandwich was bland. The pretzel was warm on the outside, cold on the inside, the queso that accompanies the pretzel was cold and the truffle fries were just ok. As far as the course goes, it was packed. Took 20 minutes to get to the first hole and it was about 50 minutes getting to the 4th hole. Maybe we went on the wrong day? Needless to say, my teenage boys were over it and didn't finish the course. They did however have some fun playing ping pong and corn hole. We might try again. read more
